  2. I was going through some old photos and came across this. This was me back in 2008 in Basra, Iraq. Everyone emailed the respective clubs we support asking for them to donate any kits so we could play 5 a side. Falkirk sent THREE boxes of kit out to us. Amazing…. the big clubs (Scottish and English), that replied to our ask, only sent 2/3 scarfs, maybe a car air freshener. No footy kits at all. I was so proud to be a Falkirk fan and that will never change! This photo also featured in a match programme that season too.

  6. You two were all over the Trans thread a few months ago, using the safety of women as an excuse for your bigotry towards Trans people. Now when there is very real evidence of women being raped and assaulted, you are both sticking up for the perpetrator and blaming the victims

  10. You are very similar to several banned posters who joined, posted in the same way, and were banned for the same reason: - A user name with a possessive noun, adjective and another noun. The original of these was "Durie's Air Freshner" which is why people are calling you Durie. - Default avatar. - Joining a forum about Scottish football and posting almost exclusively in the non-football sections. - That "same way" being extremely bad faith trolling about a political or religious issue. - Continually posting and complaining about being abused, rather than doing what 99% of newly signed up posters to a website would do in this situation and just leaving. Handily, whether or not you are this same gimp who has one of the most boring trolling styles I've seen in nearly twenty years on the internet, it doesn't matter. The solution is the same. Shut the f**k up.

  18. Russell Brand had not retired from the mainstream media. He appeared in several major studio films last year, including Death On The Nile and Minions: Rise of Gru. He was, until last week, represented by a premier talent agency, Tavistock Wood. His books were published by MacMillan Publishing, one of the top publishers in the UK. His legal representatives are Thomson Heath & Associates, specialist defamation lawyers whose website states that they work for “senior political figures, advising FTSE companies and their executives, royal families, governments and celebrities.” Fight the power! The costs of having these guys is massive btw, probably hundreds of thousands of pounds at a minimum. Up until pretty recently these people were in his corner. One of the accusers, the woman who said he sexually assaulted her when she was 16, wrote to Tavistock Wood and received a letter back from Thomson Heath threatening her with legal consequences. That was in 2020. He also personally threatened one of his accusers with legal action, by her account. Regarding him suddenly becoming a threat to the establishment or mainstream media, he wrote books about revolution, advocated not voting, went on anti-capitalist protests and gave evidence to Parliamentary committees about drug policy all well before he started posting videos about vaccines etc. Also, some people might have forgotten, but the Sachsgate story was absolutely massive - main story for weeks, BBC executives resigned, highest paid presenters resigned, questions in Parliament and condemnation from the Prime Minister. Large swathes of the British press (Daily Mail etc) were out for his blood then. If these allegations were so easy to conjure up, why didn’t they come out then? The investigation by the Despatches team and the Sunday Times began in 2019, before Brand really leaned into his YouTube channel for content. There are also stories and rumours that these things were investigated previously and were shut down legally (The comments of his former management agency are interesting in this regard). These stories didn’t suddenly appear at the same time, it takes years to investigate, to fact check, to corroborate and to get the claims legally checked. If anyone has any evidence that the media conspired to do this now to hobble Brands YouTube channel or that the accusers are lying they are keeping it to themselves.

  19. Fortunately we don’t live in a globalised society so we can just ignore the increasing chaos and conflict over water rights and won’t be in any way impacted by the world’s poor increasingly looking for somewhere habitable to live. Fortunately, global migration is an issue that the UK has historically been insulated from and when it has impacted us, we’ve dealt with it really sensibly. And we have some really robust supply chains for food and fuel and wouldn’t be at all impacted by droughts or other changing weather patterns elsewhere on the globe. An increase in the northern range boundary or crop pests and human pathogens that a couple of degrees rise in temperatures should also not be a problem. I know scientists say it will but I’m cleverer than scientists. They make all this shit up for research grants you know.

  21. Football is the only thing that continues to give it oxygen. Sectarianism in Scotland came about due to a lot of political, cultural, economic and religious friction due to large scale immigration from Ireland (from both communities) and the nativist anti-Catholic response to that immigration. Nowadays basically nobody goes to church, and the vast majority of those descended from Irish immigrants see themselves as primarily Scottish and are accepted as such. Catholics and Protestants no longer compete for jobs or political influence as they did in most of the 20th century. In short, most of these societal issues that led to sectarianism being rife in Scotland no longer meaningfully exist. There’s zero reason for young guys in the 21st century to be singing about the troubles or the UVF or whoever else as it’s completely irrelevant to their lived experience. The only reason they do that is because they think that’s what they need to be into in order to be a “proper Rangers man”. A large portion of the sectarianism you still see in Scotland is essentially a hangover from this period that is kept around because the two biggest football clubs based their identity around exploiting these cultural issues to build their support bases when they were still relevant, and neither have made an effort to shed them.

  22. You would expect a flag like that to attract a bit of media attention. I mean, it's obviously not on the same level as something truly heinous like booing a national anthem, but still.

  31. I've endured literally hundreds of pages of posters talking about shares and committees and board members and I could go on and on and on. I won't and never will apologise for how I (and anyone with half a brain) should feel towards the conservative party, any of its members, or supporters. f**k the lot of them.

  32. Celtic fans crippling inability to not take personal offence to anything directed at their club, and resultant defensiveness about it, really is a major reason Rangers can continue to be bigoted agains them too. Any push from Scottish football fans as a whole to tackle bigotry, by starting at the two biggest, most high profile, groups involved ends up in a whataboutery fest where you spend longer trying to explain Celtic can be in the wrong but also be victims than you do trying to implement any campaign to stop it. Every single time its brought up on here you get the same routine. 1. "Rangers need to get rid of bigotry from their support" 2. Rangers fans - "we're not all bigoted, it's a minority" 3. "Even so, you need to do something to stop it. Rangers and Celtic both promote their side of it as part of the "brand"" 4. OF fans - "Actually, its a problem with society as a whole you know" 5. "Well why does that stop you doing anything to prevent it at your own clubs?" 6. OF fans - "Do you stop it at your club? Its just because you hate us its coming up" 7. "What? We just think fans of these clubs are best placed to pressure their clubs into stopping" 8. Celtic fans - "We dont actually have an issue, we're victims here yet you wont leave us alone" 9. "I give up" And repeat every 6 months.

  33. Barnes hit double figures in the EPL last season and is playing in the Champions League this season. Refusing to call him up because you might upset Shankland or Nisbet, who'll never get near those levels, is a bit mad.
