  1. I'm a wee bit worried for my job.

An Asian outsource worker transferred a customer to me tonight and the wee Asian guy was really sound, wishing me a nice shift, nice week, nice year, nice life, nice reincarnation etc.

He eventually passed the customer over and she even spoke about how nice he was and I agreed with the line, "Aye, I think I'll try and adopt him!"

She took an audible intake of breath and I instantly thought about how what I said may have been perceived and then she burst out laughing for a while.

Could that be misconstrued as 'dodgy' if that call is randomly listened to?

I wouldn't worry too much about it if I'm honest Andy. I've said much worse that has been randomly picked up and only given a warning.

  2. I really don't know what has gotten into our child this week, he is a total nightmare. He has recently decided that he doesn't need a sleep during the day, even though come 2pm he is hanging. Disaster struck yesterday as well when I discovered the Sky remote is broke as well, no prizes for who done that. Now it turns out the normal telly remote is gubbed as well, no doubt at the hands of Charlie as well.

I can't wait to go to the football tomorrow and get blind drunk.

  3. What's the largest amount of added time anyone has seen added on at a game?

I'd like to add that I'm only really looking for ones where the fourth official has held up the board with an incredible number, because we've all been at Second Division games that seem to go on forever. I'm just wondering if a fourth official has ever held up the board with double figures on it, or similar.

I'm sure in the Scottish Cup final in 2000? Between Rangers and Aberdeen had around ten minutes added on in the first half as Jim Leighton went off injured after ten minutes and Robbie Winters went in for the rest of the game.

    Amazingly, it only finished 5-0.

  4. brilliant first paragraph!

Anyway, I'm in on Tuesdays now according to my new college timetable, so might be out for the forseeable future. I don't fancy arriving back from 5s on a Monday after midnight and not falling asleep till about 2am, then having to get up about 7am.

What a poof. Give yourself a shake man!

Good game last night, really enjoyed it.

  5. Unfortunately, I'm being a willy. Shakey, yer in.

And I'll have yous know that this is the first time I've been out in a while, when last year I was so inconsistent and just turning up whenever I feel like it. Unfortunately this week, limited finances and still a little doze of illness have won this particular battle.

Should, and probably will, be fine for next week.

    AIDS?

  6. Venue -

    Powerleague, Kennedy Street, G4 0PQ? - That's the place.

    Time -

9pm? - Either 9pm or 9.30pm, still waiting to hear from Sir Kevin.

    Surface -

Outdoors, Astro? - Outdoors. One of theose 3g pitches.

    Cost -

    About a fiver? - £5.20.

    Shin Guards -

Hope not? - Some people do, I don't bother though, 'cos I'm hard as f**k.

    Pitch -

Let me know as I won't know anyone. - We all normally meet in the changing rooms about five/ten minutes before KO, so if you are wearing a distinctive top (or a red rose, either is fine) then we shall make ourselves known.

  7. Anyone know if the bar Europa at Glasgow Queen Street has shut down or what is going on? Walked past it last night about 7pm on my way to the pub and all the tables and chairs outside were gone and the door was shut that has a sign on it but I didn't have time to go and read it.

It was open for business on Thursday, can't see it being shut down.

  8. Unlikely, if the game is 0-0 after 15 minutes it is very unlikely there will be enough movement to merit trading at that time. Between 30 and 45 minutes you will find a small amount of movement in the "win" options, if the team are evenly matched they will both drift by a small amount, if there is a clear favourite then it's unlikely the favourite will move much but the outsider may drift a bit. The "draw" option will generally come down from around 3.50 to around 2.50, however there is no benefit in that as you'd be as well backing 0-0 on the HT market and trading on that.

This is all based on the presumption it is a "normal" match.

    Brilliant, thanks a lot. :)

  9. Firstly, the odds won't move much in the first 15 minutes if there are no goals. Secondly, to use your own example against you, in 2 of the last 4 Man Utd v Liverpool games there have been 3 goals in the first 15 minutes (Torres (5) 21/3/10, Rooney (12) 21/3/10, Tevez (3) 13/9/08).

Well, I was only using that as an example, and wasn't thinking of previous meetings, more previous games. I've seen odds drift a few points if there hasn't been a goal in the first 15 minutes, not a lot granted, but if your stakes are decent, there *could* be money to be made?

  10. Yes, it's the same mathematical principle.

Cheers. Would it not be worth looking at if, for instance, Man Utd and Liverpool were playing each other? Neither have a great goalscoring record in the first 15 minutes and if it was an important tie, they would surely start off a bit cagey?

  11. I've got a question. On Betfair, it is easy to turn a profit if, for instance, you back Man Utd to win at home to Newcastle at 1.30 pre KO. Then, when they score, the price drops to around 1.10, you can lay them off and make profit. My question is, could you lay a team pre KO, and when the odds rise (if there has been no goals), could you then back the team you have bet to win to make profit?

  12. I ordered a beef fried rice for dinner tonight, and when it arrived and i opened it, there was a fried egg sitting on top of it. This is the first time i've ever had that, from any Chinese, when ordering a fried rice.

    Is this pretty common?

It's happened to me once before, I took it as a Brucey Bonus. It helped that I had also ordered chips though, otherwise I imagine it would be a pain in the arse.

  13. My girlfriend and I are both in agreement on this one, but I'd like to hear someone else's opinion as well before deciding if I need to phone the bank.

Tonight I ordered a couple of books from Amazon and once I processed the order, I realised that the card I had put the order onto wouldn't have enough money in it to cover the fees (I only use this account for my student loan, which obviously hasn't been paid yet).

I cancelled the order (think it was for abour £30) within a minute of placing it, and placed it once again on a card that did have money in it.

Will my bank charge me for this? We thought no, as I cancelled it pretty quickly and it wouldn't have had time to process the payment, and it wasn't a Direct Debit payment so it would be like going to chip and pin with a card that doesn't have cash in it (it doesn't charge you).

I can't really be arsed phoning my bank to confirm as they are hopeless when it comes to telephone baking (TSB) so I'd be much obliged if someone could put my mind at rest.
