  1. Just back from the game. It was a cracking atmosphere both in and around the stadium, barring the thousands (literally) of riot police... I saw no trouble at all, apart from when I was shoved away from the Billy Bremner statue for standing there too long!!

Millwall were incredibly lucky to take anything from the game - what they will bring to the Championship, footballing wise, I have no idea... Delph and Snodgrass were quite classy, though Beckford had a horror game. Ben Parker's run for the goal was superb.

The Leeds fans were awesome throughout, as they have been for years - they certainly deserve a lot better than the outrageous mismanagement of the last few seasons. Tonight was the biggest football league attendance of the season (Elland Road also has second and third...), and that was inclusive of a ridiculously large area of unoccupied seats for segregation.

Anyone who honestly thinks Leeds would not add to the Premiership, well... they don't know football.

Oh, why was there only six minutes of injury time?! The head knock took at least five... and the Millwall timewasting was comparable only to that of a Hamilton side 1-0 up!

No its precisley becaause of football that they are in the 3rd tier ( again ) of English football. All they would add to the EPL is a laughing stock. Number of fans has nothing whatsoever to do with the position that a team occupies ( unless you want to go down a franchise route like American Football or baseball ). The fact is that they are a crap team who arent good enough to escape the 3rd tier.

  2. He'll be doing well to reach the last eight at the French really. Be interesting to see how far he can get in clay tournaments now. His game has clearly moved up a level so he should be able to do better than last year but still luck of the draw could easily get him a clay specialist early rounds in many tournaments.

Stand to be correct on this but i am sure that 2 or 3 years ago Murray though that clay would be his best surface due to have worked on clay so much when he was in Barcelona. Be interesting to see how he develops on clay. That said, he would need to improve a hell of a lot on it to be able to compete with Nadal on clay.

  3. The most impressive thing is how well he does against individuals once he proves to himself that he can actually beat them. his record against Federer is awesome. On the flipside there will be a huge amount of expectation on him to win a Slam tourney this year, and if it doesnt happen it will be used as a stick to beat him with. With Nadal struggling for fitness though he may never get a better year for it.

  4. The w****r of p&b speaks! Your a twat Pansy and I often wonder what is wrong with your life that you need to be bothered by other clubs topics, j'sus give up, take a pill or go to Switzerland.

Bye the way, call me a "retard" again and I will find you.

What like Leeds fans who obsess over Man United and make up juvenile names for them and their manager

  5. It certainly has been a great series so far.

I like Sheldon, the fact that he is awkward, weird (well even for them), strange and despite how smart he is he really doesn't have any real normal characteristics is part of the show really.

    Wolowitz is great though :D.

Agreed fast becoming the best character. The blonde girl is actually getting more attractive as well. Superb effort on her part.

  6. Scotland in with Argentina and England for the 2011 World Cup. Impossible to predict what England will be like by then but Argentina are definitely the best of the top seeds to draw.

New Zealand await the runners-up of our group you'd guess, although they are paired with France and Tonga. Ireland in with Australia and Italy, Wales with South Africa, Fiji and likely Samoa.

we literally could not have gotten a better draw. Argentina are a decent side but it will be hard for them to sustain this level for another 3 years . To have avoided the tri nations is nigh on miraculous and no doubt the gin will be flowing amongts the blazers at Murrayfield tonight.

  7. Hard to know it was just that we were better or they were just on a bad day. There is no doubting that our forwards can worry anyone ( the scrum has improved out of all recognition ) but we desperately need some self belief in the last 5 yards. Too often the ball is given to a player who is standing still rather than hitting contact at pace. If we can crack that then we should be a good sight better at 6N.

  8. What a result ( again ). Cant be many players with as good a record against Federer as Murray. Just shame that it wasnt the same at the US Open. He really does seem to have moved up a gear again Murray. Is this going to be enough to get him to 3 in the rankings ( and would that be the highest ever ranking for a British tennis played ) ?

  9. Staggie you make a point about Godman but i think he is still abit inexperienced at international level but that will come with time but he has been impressive for Edinburgh. In saying that one of our other options - Parks is awesome for Glasgow but poor for Scotland but i would like to see Paterson given a shot at stand off again.

    Edit - Spelling mistake

Best way for Godman to get experience is a long run in the team. Parks should never be near the squad ever, he is just dire in international level. We missed the chance to use Paterson at stand off. he should have been playing there from his first stint with Edinburgh but the coach of Edinburgh ( Hadden ! ) wouldnt have it. May have been leant on by the SRU but by not playing at that time, he has missed a good chunk of his career when he would have learned a lot about the position. I think that Paterson at fly half boat as sailed sadly. I reckon he could have been top notch but we decided to persist with gash like Parks

  10. Quite looking forward to some punishment in just under a fortnight for the Canada match. It'll be my first rugby match of any kind, and with a smidgen of luck, I'll see a home win. How often does that happen at Pittodrie?

The Canadians were raped at the weekend, and despite Scotland being a bit rubbish, I think I'll be happy enough at the end of it. Have we lost to someone as bad as Canada before?

We have lost to Romania back in the amateur days, but they were well funded by the commies then and much better than they are now. We normally play our reserve team against Canada ( did so in the Churchill Cup anyway ) so you are assured of a Scotland win as it is possible to be.

  11. Can't see us upsetting the ABs. Although our back row is pretty good and very experienced, even without McCaw and So'oialo theirs is probably still better. The back division's pretty good as well unfortunately, possibly a better pair of wingers than started vs Oz last week.

I can see us scoring one try, but I can see them scoring 3 or 4...

    Scotland 13-31 NZ.

I would bite your hand off for that score right now. :(

  12. Im utterly gash. One of my mates plays at a very decent level and makes a few quid here and there. he beat the English captain a couple of years back ( some hairy guy called Adam ?? ) and said he was a complete chunt to him after it. We applied to go on the new Bullseye on Challenge but never made it

  13. Bogdanovic is the template British tennis player. Clearly has some good shots in the locker, but misses far too many easy points and crumbles when the pressure is on. The LTA performance directors or whatever they call themselves have failed miserably over the last few years. Murray and the young lass who won junior wimbledon didnt come through the LTA and are the only real tangible UK success stories. Jamie Murray has won a Slam of course albeit with a girl to help him, but according to his bro that is only after the LTA nearly ruining him as a player.

  14. That would be me. And it was accurate at the time. Indeed it might be argued it's still accurate. Though that doesn't make me a Murray hater if that's where you're heading with this. I was merely defending Henman from the usual summary dismissal as a "loser" at the time.

Murray has now achieved something Henman never did, a Grand Slam Final. But Henman maintained a top four ranking for longer than Murray has yet and made half a dozen Grand Slam semi finals, something Murray is way short of.

If Murray should win it will be one of the greatest sporting achievements by a Briton in the last century. Go Murray! :D

Not at all just celebrating the fact that Murray is fulfilling his potential, something one doesnt often get to say about our sportsmen n women. :D

  15. Somebody during Wimbledon on here made the observation that Murray had not yet achieved as much as Henman. Well he has now and hes what only 21. Tremendous achievement. Re his personality, well if you had a lunatic running about your school shooting your pals, you might just grow up to be alittle less outgiong and charismatic than other people. His spikiness is what makes him a winner though there can be defence for his haircut

  16. I believe this is the clown who said it isn't difficult to become a millionaire. You just need £10 and a few even money shots to come in.

I wish I'd known he was on Del Potro and I might have changed my mind.

It's like seeing the Racing Post's tennis tipster on the same matches as you - you know you are beaten before you start.

He's not far off the mark judging but Birmingham owner David Sullivan

  17. So far Andy Murray has earned $2,700,665 from ATP events :o Not including his wedge from this week

May I be the first to not just congratulate him on that success but also suggest a small amount of that well earned greenmill be invested in either a vaguely talent / not blind barber or at a push some conditioner and a set of hair straighteners. I can only think of $2.7 million reasons why such a miserable poor groomed we chunt has such a tidy girlfriend.....not that am jealous or anything.

Great to see the form improving again. Defo has what it takes to be no3 in the world ( cant see him overtaking Federer or Nadal ) but am I right in saying that if he can break top 4 he will start to avoid Nadal n Federer til at least the semis of Slam tourneys ??

  18. Don't have much time for the team but the city is a fucking palace compared to where you are living

Aye fair dos had some cracking nights in Leeds but the club are utter scumbags. Had nothing against them until they failed to do the right thing with the like of Bowyer and Woodgate after their nightclub 'adventure'

  19. I have to say that unlike a lot of the pish that passes for comedy from the UK (Little Britain, Catherine Tait, etc ) and is supposed to be classic, Big Bang makes me laugh.Thats no mean feat as I am a miserable chunt.

Far superior to Friends ( the later series especially ) but it should not go on for more than 2 series as it will easily get stale. Oh and the comments about the blonde lady are entirely accurate.

  20. And his history and previous media pish.

Lloyd is fucked. I imagine he wants to come out and call him a disgrace, but can't as Murray will use it as an excuse to withdraw for good.

I would resign if I was Lloyd.

I wouldnt its a total skive of a job. How many matches a year do they play ? 3, 4? Its not like selection will keep him up nights...the Murray brothers plus an other. Probably get a 6 fig salary for it as well and a couple of nice trips away from home. Nobody has any expectation either so must be the cushiest national coaching job going.
