It will be a mix of people who follow the news and know the Scottish rules, people who genuinely dont know and follow the UK rules in good but misinformed faith, and people who deliberately ignore ScotGov.

#3 are the arseholes of the piece, and theres a good chance they make up the majority

    #3 = H"ns

It's been said many times but it's all about the infection rate and the ability of the NHS to care for people, not necessarily save their lives. Of course many thousands die every year from the flu and respiratory illnesses, but not all at once. Here's another outing for this guy.

Oh surely not...Viking ton, the unemployed junkie says its alot of shite. Surely he knows best

How's spending £400 a week on your rampant ching habit working out for you?

How's your crack and smack habit? Still robbing grannies? You do know the police are after you for stealing that Morton's roll van, probably you and your pals are the ones out trying car doors and threatening to stab people in the early hours too...lay off the blues

So do you support a similar lockdown being imposed at the start of every winter flu season? Given that all of the above arguments apply equally to that epidemic as well.

Inverclyde should be shut down to the rest of humanity you cretin

I walked into Greenock town centre today and it was a surreal experience. Nobody around. No cars. Nothing. There was the odd car before I reached the police station but that was it.

Tesco was SLIGHTLY busier than that, but barely anyone there too.

My walk was to Gourock and it was DEAD there. Nobody at all. Again, just surreal.

I'm sure the crackheads are waiting until it's dark to try car/house doors etc

How would £480 per week for a single earner 'not cover the bills'? Try giving your rampant ching habit a rest.

Haha someone from Inverclyde trying to talk about drug habits...your town is crawling with scumbags, crack and smackheads so give me peace!! I've not taken Ching since I was about 23. If you must know my partner works part time and we have young child, I know you won't have this issue as like the rest of your rotten town you're no doubt claiming off of us workers...tink...

Or robbing the 5% of decent folk down there

I dont think its down to your employer to adapt the system to suit. You'll have had a P60 showing your full year earnings declared to HMRC (which obviously doesn't show all the wee cash jobs you boys do after skiving off early and then only working a half shift on a Saturday 😜)- I would have thought that was the golden bit of paper you need to find fairly sharpish...

I've got my p60 on an email...all I need to know is where I find the information that it's not up to them to dictate how much they pay me

I think the maximum subsidy is £2,500 per month per employee so I don’t think you will get more than that.

I know that but what I'm due - 80% of £725 = £580 and the c***s are paying me £480. Won't cover my bills and with the bullshit "take a mortgage holiday so we can shaft you with a higher interest rate" is a shambles

  9. Does anyone know the legalities of what's happening for employees and the 80% of wages? I'm on 16 quid an hour, 45 hours a week. That's my basic. Other sparks or on 15 quid an hour at 45 hours a week. Got a text this morning telling me that I'm not getting my usual rate as it's unfair on other electricians. So everyone is being paid 80% at £15 an hour over 40 hours...we always get paid 45 hours. Its the principal more than anything, not to mention will be struggling quite a bit as we are tight for money as it is. The company I work for as well are renowned w*nkers and shaft us out of correctly calculated holiday pay. Now is not the time to be fucking people over.

I don't think it's about muslims, although the general religious line of still doing something the authorities have defined as dangerous - and which has proved dangerous just two weeks ago -  because you are 'more afraid of God' is clearly a factor. They're not just putting themselves at risk, the last time they did this they ended up spreading the virus very widely and probably will do again. It's a total lack of consideration for others based on religious belief.

It brings to mind the old joke about the devoutly religious person who knocks back various forms of help while stranded at sea and then upon arriving in Heaven asks God why he didn't save him. God answers, 'I sent you a boat, a helicopter, and a ship. What more did you want?'

So, the religious aspect is quite clearly a factor, but I think it's a general lack of seriousness about health and safety in South East Asia in general. Anyone who has lived in this part of the world will have a bunch of stories about driving, cooking, hygiene, workplace safety, fire regulations, you name it.

Just last night the Malaysian PM had to go on tv one day into a controlled movement order to tell the population to do what they're being asked to do because so many people were treating it like a holiday and going out and about visiting and spreading the virus around. Health and safety awareness in the whole region is miles away from what we are used to in Western Europe.

Muhammad's teachings actually tell Muslims not to travel to countries of plague and if the plague is in their country to stay put.

  11. I spoke to my boss yesterday who told me we will probably be off for a few weeks on stat sick pay. Mentioned to him my Mrs woke up not feeling great but said it's probably tonsillitis, she has no fever or cough. He called me this morning to tell me I can't come in for 2 weeks, while my Mrs is away to work, how can this be right? Mental man!! Now I'm worried that our gas installs just keep going and now I need to stay off for 2 weeks for nothing. I'd feel much better knowing for sure that we will be shutting up shop in the next few days but no one seems to know anything.

  12. I've not managed to read all this topic but was wondering how many people have tried antidepressants? I struggle with really bad anxiety that can result in feeling down and like my life is falling apart. I can become quite manic.

Ive had this now probably since my late teens so 15 years. I've been for counselling etc and it helped a bit but the anxiety and depression still comes and goes. My doctor prescribed me sertraline a couple of weeks ago, was never keen on medication but thinking of giving it a go. Anyone any experience with sertraline in particular?

I used to be fit and healthy but let myself go a bit, know what I should be doing but just have no get up and go and thinking about the gym actually makes me anxious, sometimes staying indoors is the only thing thing that makes me feel 'safe'.

  13. Haven't read all this thread and I'm assuming it's been covered. Found out my mrs is pregnant...how did you deal with her hormones? Ive been told numerous times already to get to f**k etc and we were over, she can do it alone etc...then back to normal a few hours later. Scary shit

There are just some things about the Universe that we don't fully understand. It's very big and has been around for a very long time, and we've only been trying seriously to find out about it for a few hundred years. Explaining any gaps in our knowledge by postulating that the tooth fairy must have done it, does not advance understanding.

I think previous civilisations knew a lot more than we think. We think we know a lot through science but really it is limited in its explanations. The universe appears to have been fine tuned, by what, how and why? I have no idea. I watched a short video a while ago showing the mathematical possibility of us being here by chance and it's very very low. I'll try and find it

If that was possible, who was the creator of the creator of the universe?  And so on and so on.

If a creator created the universe, then it must be outside of the universe meaning any understandings we have of the universe may not apply to the creator. For example, everything we can see is finite even the sun...so a creator could be outside of time and space meaning it's always existed. I'm frazzling my own brain !
