Dislocated knee playing fives a couple of years back, entirely caused by trying to be a smart arse and trying skills way beyond my ability. It was the second time I’d done it, but far worse the second time round. I’ve broken bones before but the dislocation is by far more painful.

We desperately need Davidson back - and most importantly for him to stay fit for an extended period. Anderson probably needs to start in place of (probably) Shaughnessy. What’s the latest on Easton? That’s been basically a year now and it’s gone worryingly silent.

Thats brilliant. Absolutely mega stuff there. Would be good if they could point out anything that Beaton missed from us or awarded against Celtic that wasn’t a foul. We could actually learn something from Celtic’s approach last night. Any time we looked like breaking they took a foul early-either in our half or just over half way-this preventing the possibility of us driving at their defence through the likes of Wright. Compare that to the incidents that led to the two free kick goals we’ve conceded in the last two weeks because we stood off and allowed the opposition to drive at our box before committing the foul to stop the attack far too late. Boyata was lucky not to be booked earlier and severs times he, Brown and others were called for going through the back of people. I don’t really recall an incident where there was any real controversy over a foul.

I’m assuming you’re stuck with him until at least after the Accies game, barring an absolute humiliation against Hibs? If they’ve not emptied him by now they’re surely not going to if you, for example, lose 1-0 to a team likely to be challenging for second?

If we could ship out three of Alston, Scougall, Wotherspoon and Comrie this week and bring in this lad from Ipswich and Swanson I would do that in a heartbeat. I’m off for a cold shower to calm down at the thought of a front four of Watt, Wright, Swanson and Kennedy.

Last time I saw a goalkeeper take a goal kick by passing it backwards to a full back standing on the bye line was Dundee United under Mixu, and you know how that ended. How McCann has been allowed to spend money on Jack Hamilton is beyond me and the rest of his recruitment is baffling.

He pretty regularly took up good positions on the edge of the box, and quite often got shots away when it broke to him in that area. They were almost inevitably sliced wide. Only possible conclusions are he’s on some Wild West coast drug regime or the standard of goalkeeping in the Championship is absolutely rotten.

If we really do have to get people out to bring someone in I’d get rid of Alston, either on loan or essentially released. He’s clearly not going to play that CM role and will probably be third choice on the right behind Wright and Wotherspoon. He’ll also be on a fairly reasonable wage. A decent ball playing CM beside Davidson could be the difference between us looking up the table this season or scrapping it out to avoid the relegation places. This is hardly an imprudent speculate to accumulate scenario - we need someone in there urgently.

That was an absolute belter. When questioned the boy said it was because there hadn’t been enough young players given their debuts, because that’s more important than winning trophies/massively exceeding expectations.

Dundee FC today named and shamed for failing to pay the minimum wage to some of their players. Sounds like financial turmoil and relegation incoming IMO, can’t even pay the legal minimum to their players.

Personally don’t know that missing out on Williams is much of a loss. Plenty potential but little end product.

To nip this in the bud sharpish, that's categorically not what happened. Not that I know much more than what's out there already, but Wighton was long gone from the Underground when it all kicked off.

Absolutely essential we sort ourselves out on set pieces at both ends of the park. Two dreadful goals conceded yesterday and yet again we had any number of corners/free kicks with little created from any of them. Story of the season.
