  1. Haven't owned a pair of trainers for approximately 20 years. Feeling like I should be down with the kids, what do you recommend. I'm assuming Lonsdale and everlast are out of bounds?

Get yourself a pair of air max for comfort
  2. Fully funded..Rangers director Paul Murray has told STV that shareholders will have to stump up for the club to make signings in the January transfer window. The club's former interim chairman admitted there is not adequate cash in the bank for transfer business and they will have to rely on money from current committed investors if they wish to make an acquisition.

It would be easier if they just became sustainable.
  3. Every time I hear them moan saying "We've been punished enough"

Considering everything that has happened, they really did get off lightly. Being allowed to waltz back into the senior league set up (Airdire or Gretna didn't get this option), a transfer ban while they played in part time league.

    Thats it really.

The transfer ban saved them from spunking away even more money than they have.

  4. Alot of fans believe that the titles won by Rangers during the period where they were over spending and signing players (including the use of EBTs) are tainted (I don't like that word but you get the meaning) as they were playing players they couldn't afford to gain an on field advantage.

Now I understand that alot of clubs have done this in the past but it was done to such a degree that Rangers eventually were liquidated. The fans then want to claim that club and company are separate and want to claim all the previous titles as well as starting out new with zero debt (other than that accrued since the Sevco formation).

I don't really understand the legalities but surely morally you can see why people may have issue with this?

It's basically wanting to take the titles, have the club accept no responsibility, and just carry on. If that were Celtic most of the Rangers fans defending this would be the first to jump the other way. The concept is utterly ludicrous.

The Club gained advantage due to the money spent but want none of the responsibility of that overspending. The EBT is just another thing that the fans of other clubs being unhappy to give credence to their argument (rightly or wrongly).

You can't seriously believe that these fans have no reason to be pissed about it? As I've said, if it wasn't your club going through it I'm pretty sure you'd be the same as them. I don't blame you for sticking up for your club (or whatever bracket you want to give it) but surely you can see why other fans might be more than a but pissed off?

Dont get me wrong, some may let this consume them but any Scottish football fan, regardless of their team should take an interest in this case.

Good post Matt. Agree with it all. Be interesting to read what the response is from the Rangers fans on here.
  5. I think those are probably The worst things I have ever seen. I really can't decide what I hate most about them.

They are something else aren't they? It was the early 90s though. A crazy time all round. They were pretty comfy from memory. That's maybe all they had going for them.

  6. Quick questions

If the "company" holds or owns the membership, the registration, the players, staff and employees contracts, the infrastructure, assets, the debts, all commercial activities etc..., and shares are bought and sold not for the club but for the company

Then what exactly does the club hold? If you wanted to buy the "club" without the "company" what exactly would you be owning?

The club and company are the same thing.

  7. I saw it more as taking a gamble on a player and exploiting hibs weak position myself and hibs had already said they would sell to any club apart from Rangers, maybe trying to get Rangers to make a silly bid....If hibs were open to offers from Rangers and Celtic had outbid then you'd have had a point.

Either way I still think Hibs have got a good deal out of it. But I don't think he would've made a massive difference to the Rangers team anyway. Not the type of player to get into a bidding war over either.
  8. It's a similar amount of cash and the two players are obviously considered to be less talented than Alan, its quite a poor dealWin win for Celtic tho, it deflects from Joan Collins recent faux pas, gives them a possible prospect but I suspect that they were hoping that ego would get the better of king and Rangers...

I must admit, I don't think Celtic would have bothered getting him if Rangers hadn't made a few bids. It's obvious they're just putting Rangers in their place. But I'm sure Rangers would be doing the exact same if the roles were reversed. It's pretty amusing to the neutral also.
  9. Decent money? A similar offer was recently described as derisory by many hibs fans on here.Decent players? I'd say that Celtic probably see Allan as the better player, so you could say that hibs have been weakened.S'pose it is better from a hibs viewpoint in that regard, my opinion is that Allan is a bit overrated...Robs engaging in banter, deal with it.

Rangers are a direct rival though so their offer would have to have been a hell of a lot more to be considered. Money Rangers wouldn't have been able to afford Celtic have come in with a decent wedge of cash and a couple of players for a player soon to be out of contract. Completely different situations.

  10. Now this I would love to hear. Go on, Mr QC. Tell us how the league campaign finishes before "promotion and relegation issues between the divisions in the league are settled."

BTW dont refer to Roolz. We all ken you can C&P. Simply do your damnedest to express a smiley-free opinion.

It is a tricky one I agree. IMO the league doesn't finish until promotion and relegation issues are finalised. But the rules do state that after the league campaign has finished. The clubs will enter into a playoff. So I probably would agree with the football league Chiefs in theory. But they are also a shower of shites so I definitely agree with clubs trying to get one over to them.
  11. There were 20,000 extra there last night only days after what was possibly the teams poorest performance of the season. There will be 40,000+ there on Saturday.

Rangers were averaging in the 40,000 region while playing and being beaten in the lower leagues.

Last season went the whole league season undefeated but at the start of this season there were 20,000 less season ticket holders

Not interested in what you think. The facts are there for all to see

^^^ Not really getting it type post.
