Would you describe the St Mirren penalty as soft? Has that happened before?0 -
Can’t disagree with anything in the first part of your post. JDH needs to take the brunt of the blame for last night. Had Cammy or Ethan made a mistake like that they’d have got pelters. If JDH keeps playing like that then he will end up signing that contract offer he has on the table for us because he won’t get a better one elsewhere.
Livi aren’t our rivals for the top six though. The top five is set and there’s no realistic chance of anyone outside it currently catching anyone in it. Certainly not before the split.
Our real rivals for that final top six spot are Dundee Utd - who lost 2-0 at home to Hibs with 11 men and St Johnstone.
I'd say St.Johnstone and motherwell are our rivals for 6th0 -
Naw we wulny[emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787]
Try and play football against them at Parkhead and you'll get humped. Bus park and counter attack.0 -
Not a lot in it today. Neither keeper had and real saves to make. The difference was one quality ball into the box. Robinson wanted it more than Mason who the stood and watched as Robinson followed it in.
We had 3 decent chance when Connolly was through and attempted to cross instead of take the last man on
Obike when he went down instead of firing it across goal and
Mac Alistair when he saw the whites of the keepers eyes but refused to shoot.
Only got ourselves to blame.
Good luck to Livi in the final0 -
Probably a fair result but seemed unlikely as the game petered out. As for the goal. Rogers made an arse of it. Not one of his defenders complained. Horrendous error

You watched many St.Mirren games then?
St Mirren have only conceded two league penalties all season btw, despite having a string of games which were basically played in their own box.
Clearly a pro-Saint Mirren conspiracy concocted by the dastardly Paisley Referees Association1 -
As with the last game, Saints have a punchers chance again. Can we do it? Hope so. I'd take a draw right now tho

Subs made a difference today. Think the red was harsh. St.Johnstone di well to shitfrst the 2nd half but a great 3 points all the same. Players looked flat after wednesday

Great 3 points today for Saints. Better team 1st half although Well looked a lot more lively when Cole and Hastie came on. Saints never seem to go for a second goal which would have finished it but the restricted Well to a few chances and were dogged if not flamboyant 2nd half. Hope O' Hara's injury isn't serious

Hes playing as a lone striker and did a good job yesterday. Timed one run to perfection between the aberdeen backline where he would have been one on one only for Connolly or Durmus to intercept it and play it insideFor all his nice touches outside the box Obika was rank in the box. 24 shots on goal and none by Obika. Cross after cross into the box and he never wins a header or loses his man. Some slick passes through to him and he falls over the ball. He is playing as a striker and we are creating loads of chances but he never even gets a shot away. He may be the best we have but he is ineffective.5 -
Thought McGrath was great 1st half and faded 2nd
Very good performance tonight, would have been gutted if that went to extra time. What a winning goal [emoji38]
Tait MOTM again for me and great to see Durmus and Morias playing well, hope they can kick on from that. Foley definitely looks better at centre half this season. We look so much more comfortable with a back four.
Thought we missed Erhahon in the middle at times: MacPherson was a bit flappy second half and McGrath was quiet before his goal. Let’s hope we can do the double next week.0 -
Don't want to upset you and spoil a glorious Saturday night but if you had paid £5.99 before the Morton game, you could have watched both the derby and the game tonight.[emoji13]
Aberdeen had a decent spell on top for a while there and I thought it was going to be a carbon copy of the league game.
Then my dodgy stream cut out and I missed the goal. Serves me right for being a tightarse.
Still, this is going to sound diddy as f**k, but I'm actually more pleased with our performance than with the result. We finally look like a team, have a recognizable shape, and showed genuine attacking intent. My knickers are drying on the radiator.
There are some beatable teams in the next round: I hope we get a decent draw.1 -
If its any consolation we could be 5th if we win our games in hand. Accies and Well at home, Celtic away.
Motherwell looks a tough game tho[emoji23]Well done St Mirren. Absolutely no question about who deserved to win that.
I know we have had our selection problems this week, but we have been grim for three games in a row.... and two of those games were against 11th and 12th in the league. Nae good enough.

Would love too
Lewis couldn't be arsed with ET, clearly.
Cup runs are shite with no fans allowed anyway.
Well done St Mirren. Go on and win it now, please!0 -
Great result for Saints. Aberdeen showed a bit more 2nd half and a howler settled it but overall I think we deserved it

I hope we beat the dabs
I hope we beat the Maureens.0 -
Arbroath 3rd goal was a cracker
Brilliant! And the Subway Loyal seem to have left even before the match started. What year was this?0 -
Not any more. Its like watching a game through a fishing net now. I would rather take the risk of a stray shot than watch a game through thatBack in the days of grounds having mostly terracing, my dad would always want us to sit in the stand so for a lot of years it was interesting seeing the different seating areas. Raith and Dundee Utd both had those weird L shaped stands which I liked but always imagined would look great if they extended further round. Tannadice in particular was impressive since it hangs over the road outside. It's a shame the seats were uncomfortable and had no legroom.
The best bit about East End Park before the new stands came up was the dressing room doors leading out to the pitch with a little set of stairs between them and the playing surface. It was expecially neat if you sat in the stand because you could tell by the roar from the cage that the players were coming out before you could see them.
These days, I like the fact that the front row at NDP is high up with the toilets and coffee bar beneath - you're going to get a good view wherever you sit and you can see the game while waiting for food and drink.0 -
Very harsh to lump Ross County in with they 2
Can we keep Hearts and get rid of Celtic, Sevco and Ross County.0 -
A different number of games is no worse than playing the same team away 3 times7/7 gives an even number of games and and even number home and away ,32. I take your point re extra games for the bottom 8 because of losing games vs the OF, but everybody in one league should play the same number of games IMHO.0 -
I believe Celtic are worthy of the title as are Dundee Utd. Hearts were in big trouble but could have fought their way out but Hamilton and St.Mirren were showing a good turn of form. Partick and Falkirk have been hardest hit. There is no fully fair way but as a fan who has sat through 45 hrs of my team playing all over the country, not to mention cost, null and void is the worst outcome

I'm a St.Mirren fan and I think you guys, along with Falkirk are the hardest hit of all. Dont give up on your team though over £50. You will bounce back
Its a long way off but i dont know what the club are going to do about season tickets now; im not going to look for any sort of refund, thankfully i can afford to eat shit on the 5 home matches left going by the OS, but im not sure everyone will do that either out of (wholly reasonable it has to be said) principle of not getting what you've paid for, or maybe out of necessity given cash might be really tight for some personal finances and a few quid back could make a big impact to some people. Dont know how far the club can stretch with discounts realistically, think maybe they will add all cup matches to the ST to make up for this season if they cant drop the prices all that much.
Cards on the table I just cant see myself justifying >£300 or thereabouts to watch Thistle contrive to set records for set piece goals conceded to cloggers in the seaside leagues, tbh. Choice at my end is putting it towards a new motor for next year and picking and choosing for PATG (meaning if the team serve up a pile of shite match after match ive no sunk cost either) or renewing, only one winner there...
Edit; had a quick look, full price renewal is £290. I think if they dropped it to £240 - £250 - considering theres 5 home games left this season that arent going to be played and, well, we're fucking doon - itd be enough to tempt me, will wait and see...0 -
Best team won. Aberdeen scored a decent goal and then were happy to sit in and counter. Saints never really worried them and any pointfespite most of the possession. We should have pushed McCarthy up top the last 10 and went for it but shat the bed instead and gifted a 2nd goal anyway. Saints need to be more cavalier to progress. Our first thought is to turn back and keep possession. Need to show some balls

Trains free. It's only one stop. Park aground and train or walk in to centre. Just make sure you go to opposite carriage from ticket collector
I’m afraid that I am. However, thanks anyway.0

Hows everyone feeling about their team will do this year after what you've seen so far?
Top 6/ bottom 6, European hopefuls/ relegation candidates, cups??
What would you deem a success for your team?
For Saints, the resl ones in black and white, top 6 is the holy grail. One Good cup run would be an added bonus
