Leicester U21 manager Steve Beaglehole. BEAGLEHOLE. Best name ever.

Tosh and Bene. Best central defensive pairing we've had since..............?

Ray saying in his interview that Tosh took a dead leg yday. In addition to his now normal heroic defending, twice today he came forward and delivered fantastic crosses. The boy is a machine. I love him.

^^^ oh my actual bloody God, that is BEAUTIFUL, even if they don't show the whole thing. Bert's goal wasn't too shabby either. I'm getting all misty eyed here....

I was talking about big Damian tonight at the pub, saying that his goal against Ayr in the last minute a few years ago was the last time I went properly mental at Stark's Park. Only realised what I was doing when I was almost on the park.
His goal at Least End was the stuff that stays with you forever. Supernatural save by The Witch, ball to left back and Damian off like a train before smashing it in at our end. Possibly the finest 30s I've ever seen from the Rovers.

So, Ray McKinnon.

Finding an experienced yet untainted manager for this level is like the mythical 20 goals a season striker or that box to box midfielder who can tackle, pass and shoot. The few that are out there aren't interested in coming to team like us so we need to choose someone untried, or who has had a recent failure and is looking to reestablish themselves. Any chance danny Lennon will be a free agent come 8pm tonight?
Well said, and I agree. I don't think Lennon is out of the picture but in view of the above I'd like someone like Stephen Thomson as player manager. Good player (imo), talks sense on Sportscene and got a bit of profile. Unproven of course, but as ribzanelli says, I think that's the pool we're fishing in. Adams just seems a bit obvious and a bit meh....

Stephen Thompson* as player manager
Or insert any other 30+ premier league player that will not get a new contract on SPL wages.
My thoughts exactly. Thompson would be, in my mind, a brave and exciting move.

Not Cameron. Too well respected as a former player and local boy. It would only end in tears.

Some chaps talking about Barry Robson. I think it might not be an obvious contender, like some of the names already mentioned. As disappointing as the recent slump has been after a (relatively) successful run, we ARE a decent sized club with potential, a board which seems to be switched on and a cracking away strip. Financially healthy (unless Murrays dismissal has cost us dearly) I honestly think we'd be an attractive proposition. I hope it's opened up to see who's interested and I await developments with interest. And I'll be getting another season ticket tomorrow.

I was there, we got a very dodgy penalty, then Stevie Crawford had a great chance with a 1 on 1 to grab a winner.
I am sure Dalziel dedicated his goal to Peegee
He did, the silly b*****d. As frustrated as we were then we weren't as frustrated as we are now. As they say in Kyoto, murraymusgo.

Had forgotten how much of a walloper that Garyspar is / was. That post is legendary. And "Glasgow rangers"? Weren't they just called Rangers Football Club? Evolution skipping minks.

Didn't we get totally hammered by Meadowbank in the 80's? I seem to remember a feature in a fanzine called "My Pishest Game" and I'm sure this featured.
That was in the excellent "Stark's Bark" and was one of a series of pishest games.

Still no sign of Gary Glen... Done deal and all that.....

That's not my job to find out. But there were 4 in the division last season all from different clubs. Cowdenbeath even had one. Even their second top goal scorer out scored our top. Hamilton had 3 players above Spence for goals, albeit they never scored over 15. Is wanting someone who can play as an out an out striker to much to ask for? There will be some out there who would be willing to play for us.
If One of the teams around us had signed Stewart we would be laughing at them. Murray has clearly just brought in him because he's a name that he knows and he has probably have him the run around a few years back.
Sorry for not getting excited over this signing. He's just not very good.
However the signing of McKeown fills me with a lot of confidence. He's a very decent player at this level and his throw will add another dimension to our game. Very happy with that one.
I think he deserves a bit more credit than that. And you've kinda unwittingly proved my point about strikers - Cowdenbeath's is off to better things than the Championship, as are Hamilton's. If you're a guaranteed 15+ man, you'll have plenty choice where to go and how much you can earn. Why would you come to the Rovers?

Actually a few. He has played in the SPL with Dundee and Killie. So sit down you tool and tell me about how good he is.
Eta - Something like 5 goals in 56 is his current goal scoring record since 2011. We are crying out for an out and out striker who will bag 15+ goals. This is a poor signing.
Have you forgotten who we are? Who are the 15+ goal strikers who will come to a side which never kicked a ball, 2 games apart, in the last six months of the season? Living within your means sometimes forces reality upon you. Give the felly a chance for goodness' sake.

'Red tape' delaying the announcement of these signings until early next week, according to Matt Elder.
Murray out IMO
Murray out because of this or Murray out IS the red tape?

Might the throw in be the "something different?"

Airdrie have signed Andy McNeil. Was he any good when he played with Raith?
Adopt a new team my friend.

What Paco said. Let's be positive.

Or that Wighton felly. The young winger at Dundee.

Says he impressed everyone. Nicky Riley?

I personally think this is a pointless signing. If McGurn is going to be fit we shouldn't need Cuthbert and if McGurn isn't going to be fit we shouldn't have gave him a new deal, at least not in a playing capacity.
Really? Have you forgotten what happened last season already?

Good to see Cat has found a club quite quickly, really good goalkeeper, great shot stopper, crosses can be his weakness at times though.
Best of luck to him.
A bit like McGurn then. Like a few others here, not sure who'll be first choice either. Heart says the Witch, head says the Cat. Laidlaw on loan.

Percentages I heard bandied about weren't small and would certainly give him an unhealthy interest in selling on prize assets.
