  1. I wonder if we could get our own darts sub forum, as it's clearly the 2nd largest topic behind the wrestling one. We could have a PDC, BDO, Youth sections in it. C'mon..... ;)

  2. How did you get on in the qualifier at the rileys in Edinburgh peteqos ?

Had a good day. I was drawn in one of the preliminary rounds so was 2nd on at my board. I was throwing well at practice and there didn't appear to be anyone special there.... That would change though!

My first game I was drawn against a cocky guy who was there with a large group of rowdy pals. I was 3-1 down due to nerves and was throwing below average for me. One of his pals said it was his round and my opponent said he'd get them once he'd won the 5th and final leg. I rattled off a 15 darter then an 18 darter and checked out 132 in the deciding leg to win 4-3! :)

Next game I played a guy and was throwing well. It was 3-2 to him and I hit a 140 to leave double 6 ( my favourite double) the guy missed a 72 check out and I missed 3 darts to level things up..... :/ The guy then took out 16 or something to win 4-2.

I had to mark the next game and one guy absolutely raped his opponent. Not a score less than 85 in all 4 legs, a 10 & 12 darter and 5 x 180's. Ha Ha. Think the guys name is John eyres or something. There was a youngish boy (24/25) something gunions. He was a great player too. All round good day and great experience. Oh well back to the Thornhill summer league tonight. ;)

  3. Ideal line up for next season would be Taylor, Lewis, Whitlock, Wade, Barney, Anderson, Hankey & Nicholson. The premier league doesn't count towards ranking points so a line up like this would be an excellent standard and also some great entertainment with Hankey and Nicholson getting pelters

  4. 'BDO crack' Steve Douglas has apparently thrown 114 with 15 darts in the Speedyhire qualifiers for the UK Open after hitting 6 with his first 6 darts

    Oh dear ????

Anyone else participating in a UK open qualifier? Me and a few guys are going to the Edinburgh Riley's qualifier. My pal plays in the Lockerbie district darts league and gave Ewan Hyslop a right pumping on Friday night. 2 x 13 darters, a 14 darter and a 15 darter..... ????

  5. Well I won't be going back to that then. What a farce.

A 40 minute wait for pint was bad but I can put up with that. Virtually nobody was there to watch the darts. It was just a hall full of aresholes who were only there to get hammered. Throwing drink all over the place, falling down the stairs, fighting. I saw about a dozen folk getting thrown out but if the stewards were doing their job properly it should have been several hundred.

And I had the misfortune to be sitting at the end of the row nearest the stairs. I think there were 8 or 9 people in the row and me and the missus had to let each of them out at least 5 times each to go to the toilet or bar. FFS there is a break every 15 mins - can you not just wait till the break.

At the start I wanted Anderson to win but after a couple of legs I was cheering on Whitlock just because the way the crowd treated him.

Whitlock came out with that superb 164 checkout and nobody I saw where I was (block A) even saw it. Not a reaction from anyone. As for the bloke in row F who had virtually fallen asleep and was woken by the booing of Painter. He then joined in. Being seriously cheesed off by then I asked him who/what he was booing. He didn't know and didn't even know who was playing.

By the way I like a beer or two as much as anyone and had a few last night but what is the point of going to these things if you are just going to spoil it for everyone else.

    This!
