  1. This was going to be the big thing in Sevco's absence as far I was concerned. Were Celtic threatening legal action if the Diddy 11 tried to change it and if so, on what grounds?
  2. It's 104 x 65 yards. Brechin's pitch is too narrow by a couple of yards at 110 x 67 but still manage to play on it although we do get fined and plans are in place to sort it out. The main problem with Allan park is that it's just so short. The first time I went there, the first thing I thought was "you've got to be s***ing me!", even though it's not that much smaller than Glebe park which seem gigantic in comparison (possibly because there's hardly any space between the goal-nets and the terrace / derelict cottage at Allan Park which adds to the illusion)
  3. ... and won't have the proposed Calder Park facility anytime soon after Aberdeen City Council withdrew the planning permission . The current ground (Allan Park) is absolutely tiny and you need to go there to appreciate it's tininess. Rather conducive to plenty of goals though.
  4. Lots of laughy laughy, ha-ha-ha-has on that RM link. You know when somebody starts on a weakling and the first thing they do is laugh because they don't know what else to do? That's them. Pleasing
  5. I'm now fully expecting a Star Wars III situation when the Emperor (Reagan) says 'Execute Order 66' and all the SFL club chairmen vote in Rangers as it becomes clear they all have mass numbers of Rangers shares. Nothing would surprise me anymore. I was expecting this to be a mass celebratory champagne moment which I'd waited months for too
  6. That's because there's a delay time between reading this thread, copying posts, rewording them with the aid of a thesaurus and then publishing it up on the BBC news feed.
  7. Was wondering about that. Anyone have a copy of the statement by any chance? Also, please tell me that it doesn't normally look like a site constructed by someone in P7?! I reckon Caley should split back into Inverness Caledonian and Inverness Thistle. That would fill up the gap and County get twice as many Highland derbies to compensate for the loss of Rangers and Sevco.
  8. The keeper's also standing 1 ft in front of the ball but the ref's not caring much.
  9. Except that in this case the SPL and SFA are adamant that the two big teams are kept together, but I get the point. If you can do this, I should really do the same.
  10. So Rangers go to SFL3, these five SPL sides who've run a disatrous business model for years go bust and are replaced by these average SFL1 sides who know what'll happen if they do the same. Spartans/Cove/Huntly or whoever get into SFL3 to replace the 5 emty places after everyone gets nudged up five places. Sounds good to me (other than Brechin getting massacred in SFL1).
  11. Please tell me (should any vote ever actually go ahead) that this will be an open raise of hands around the table vote rather than an anonymous ballot? If it's the latter option then you can guarantee that 11 clubs will claim they voted despite there only being three or four 'no' votes given and that absolute chaos will follow.
  12. TBH, I'm almost ready to say f*** it to Scottish football right now. The only thing stopping me is that I'd miss the guys in our supporters club that I'd barely see if I wasn't going to the games with them seeing as I live in Aberdeen and following the mighty City is my only association to Brechin these days seeing as I left the place just before primary school! I'd guess that it's even harder supporting a diddy-diddy club. When you travel across Scotland with the usual 60 or so fellow supporters on the only supporters bus running, you get to know all these guys from a relatively small community. To suddenly distance yourself from them because of some p***ks running the senior game would be harsh and tough. Sounds bizarre, but I'd maybe even consider going on the odd trip down to Dumfries with them for the banter and pints but instead of going to the football, go somewhere else for the day and crash at my grandad's that night before doing something around the Solway on the Sunday. Go to Ayr and go to Alloway for the afternoon instead. Go to Arbroath and get off the train there for a few drinks en-route to my mum's place down in Fife for the weekend. The football only takes up a couple of hours of the day after all. My other half occasionally comes down on away days with me (to avoid being abandoned!) but taking our last trip to Dumbarton, we had a few drinks and went to the castle before the game and while I watched the football, she popped back on the train back to Glasgow before we met up at Queen St station later and went out for dinner and a few drinks down in Glasgow. That's the sort of shite I could be doing, although shopping sounds a bit extreme for me!
  13. If Rangers somehow end up anywhere other than the 3rd or outwith the SFL then sadly yes, although unsure if Highland League would count? I've stupidly been to all the SPL, SFL and HL grounds and the Top 5 away days were all Highland League ones. I've been through all the emotions though - seen Brechin promoted with a last kick of the season goal (while Airdrie were prematurely celebrating down at Stair Park, ha!), blown promotion in the last 10 mins of the season on a few occasions, win a couple of 2nd and 3rd Division championships which is more than the likes of the eldest Arbroath fans have ever seen their own team win in their entire history, get pumped rotten in Div 1 on a weekly basis and watched them in a national cup final (so what if it's just the Challenge Cup?! ). Hell... even ridiculous things like watch my PE Teacher at the time mark Jorg Albertz at Ibrox in the Scottish Cup. There's a whole pile of other stuff in there but I feel that if I went cold turkey now, I won't feel as if I've missed out on the whole experience unless we were to do a Gretna and get to the Scottish Cup Final penalty shootout. It's been a hell of a ride but I'm as close to 'completing the game' as I'll realistically ever be (that's what you get following a proper diddy team I suppose) so as much as it would be a massive disappointment, there's plenty of other things to be getting on with at a fraction of the cost. My other half might also stop nagging at me as much. There'll always be the General Nonsense forum of course.
