As far as I know he hasn't been capped so I was wondering how on Earth he'd get a work permit. Unless he was to play as an amateur maybe?

1st. Okay, McGinn shouldn't have been allowed to get in there but Brown should still have stopped it. 2nd. Brown could (should?) have moved towards the ball to claim it. He didn't. 3rd. Stewart should never have been allowed to get across the defence, aye. But I still think Brown didn't do enough to stop the ball. 4th. I think Brown could have caught the original shot never mind parrying it straight back out. 5th I knew as soon as the free-kick was given it was going in. I thought it would have been in a top corner though. That Brown made no effort was criminal. Brown's clearly lacking something. Confidence or ability, who knows? At the moment he's a liability.

Best goal I've ever seen live. (Or even not live come to that.) He hit the ball so hard it rebounded off the stanchion (remember stanchions?) to well outside the penalty area. The ref wasn't going to give the goal until the linesman flagged it had actually gone in and not hit the post or bar. (He was way more than 22 yards out when he hit it. As I recall he was about on the left wing halfway into Saints half.) Big Roy hit two belters either side of that game - against Alloa at Boghead the previous week and at Kilbowie against the Bankies on New Year's Day 1972.

I remember it well. It skited on the wet surface in Arbroath's penalty box and straight in. The thing is it was from a free-kick for offside, which was therefore an indirect free-kick and so the ref ought not to have given the goal but a goal-kick instead. I was glad he didn't though.

I was attempting to clarify the point about being able to phone up the club to get tickets and explaining why for non-season ticket holders (there must be some Sons fans who can't make it to every home game) this might not be so easy for the club to arrange in this case.

Why would I go and watch East Fife? I was born and brought up in Dumbarton and have supported the Sons for over fifty years. I lived four hundred yards from Stark's Park for around 25 of those and only ever crossed its doors when the Sons had an away game there.

I don't have a season ticket. I rarely make it to home games as I live in Fife.

I got my ticket for the Tynecastle game by phoning the Rock and having it posted out. The only problem that makes with the Rangers game is that non-Sons fans might try that on.
