  1. Entertaining enough game yesterday albeit Annan with the early goal gave them motivation to sit in and time waste a bit especially second half(not a critism all teams do it in the same situation). The ref was a bit too whistle happy as well in the second half for me too. Overal though stirling just didnt produce enough quality in front of goal.

Morrisons(the pub). Think it's Cold Beer Company, but most people still call it Morrisons. In the city centre, it's roughly a 30 minute walk to the stadium, but there is a taxi rank just across from the pub if needed

Cheers. Ended up in there. I parked at the car park beside the vue cinema so will fire along to the retail park after the ipswich game.

  3. Tbf it is a bit odd that the tickets havnt been put up for sale for this already for such a big game. There must be a few neutrals like myself who would head along but looking through the website I couldn't see how to buy.Thankfully someone on here did say they usually put them out on a wednesday so I have held off making other plans. I thought they would have been up a couple of weeks ago.

  4. Allot of folk seem pretty downbeat but tbh we met our remit of staying in the league and have a good chance of getting 5th, I would have probably taken thatat the start of the season and with the injuries we have had. Albeit we did give ourself a good chance of getting into the playoffs and ended up with a few lack lustre performances.

On the board level stuff the new commercial guy seens to be getting on and doing things(think he made a mistake with the wall but I think it seemed to be just an error of judgement rather than being dismissive of it). But the fan zone stuff and using the norrie concourses for events seems like it might bring in some income along with the stadium sponsorship. At least theres new ideas and things being tried. I also see him around the place allot at hospitality and sponsors events so he makes himself visable and is overseeing things(he was selling 50/50 tickets in hospolitality a few weeks ago and went round tables at the sponsors event giving kids old programmes so they could get signed with the players there, its a small thing but good to see).

I dont really know how he interacts with staff or volunteers though so can't comment on that side of things or about any of the rest of the board, although I have heard anecdontal stories from people but I dont know whats true or not.

Absolutely right decision - Dick Campbell is brilliant when everything is going well but when things start going wrong he’s toxic, a total gob shite and to be completely honest a total w**k. Obviously things can’t go well forever in football so that’s not just his fault but moving on definitely best thing for Arbroath and himself too

    Fair do's.

  6. Its nice to start to be able to look up the table instead of down constantly but in this league a 1 or 2 bad results and other games not going your way means you are back in the relegation playoff mixer again so we need to be careful we dont get sucked in.

We might sneak 4th but theres allot of ifs and buts in there with airdrie with 2 games in hand. We really need them to drop points in quite a few games and we would need to beat them through there I reckon. We did it earlier in the season so it is possible. Plus all the other teams just behind us might put a run together and sneak 4th.

Class league at times for how close it is. Everyone has something to play for with maybe the exception of Arbroath(sorry folks I think you are down) and partick are probably ok for a playoff spot now. Everyone else could be in either playoffs at the top or bottom still.

  7. It still irks me that we were told to rip up our artificial pitch when they changed the way the vote was to be conducted away from member clubs (where we looked like we would win) to the clubs on the spl board. We were also given an spl community award a few weeks before. Along with the whole club 11 vote we never seem to come out well in the circumstances where our rivals can vote on issues  effecting us.

Tbh though I prefer grass pitches and I probably would prefer all top flight clubs had them. But if they do decide to ban them I think there should be a grace period of 2/3 years before they have to be ripped up. If it was an excuse to stop rovers being promoted that wouldnt be right imo.

The thing with Allan is that he's now 24. He has to start showing that he's capable of coping at this level on a consistent basis, or we have to look elsewhere. For one reason or another, he's not actually had that much experience in the first team and I have my doubts that he's got the ability to kick on. Like McCann I think we've only seen it in small bursts.

Aye he can't really afford to be a bit part player at his age. He needs to make the shirt his own.

Interesting to see that Allan was preferred to Chalmers again (as he was when the half time change was made v Arbroath). Seen a suggestion that it was for left foot and right foot balance with Otoo the other midfielder, but I'm not having that - if the manager thinks Chalmers is the better option then he'll play regardless of that (which I always find a nonsense argument anyway). I thought Allan was fine earlier in the season alongside Otoo and again on Friday he did pretty well, with his set piece delivery being on the money too. Big opportunity for him to show he's worth keeping as an option and not just a League One jobber.

Allans crosses into the area are pretty good and have been consistently. We are much better set piece wise and even from non dead ball. For example the cross at the end of the arbroath game where Kane hit the post(and should really have scored). We were talking about him at the game on friday and think he maybe lacks a nasty edge to his game. Personally I think he might be better futher up the park rather than a sitting central mid, but he probably doesnt have the same running ability as Todd to get beyond defenders. At one point he skinned two players and then was fouled at the edge of the box but the ref let play continue so we could have a shot, the ref then went over to tell him it was a foul but he played advantage. Overal he is growing on me.

The more douce folk of Cambuslang might not enjoy being described as living in the East End though 😉.

I was careful when I said east side of the city rather than east end🤣🤣

    Brownside Road?

Even if there are queues you might still best with this route as you are going away from the city.

Its a street just off Brownside road.

It will be a mixture of possible driving but some where I will want to have a few beers depending on if the game is a midweek evening or weekend so all options are good.

    Cycling while pished is out🤣🤣

  11. Just in the hope anyone can help. I am moving to the east side of Glasgow soon(Cambuslang way) and was trying to work out the best way to get back after home games. Obviously I know Mount Florida and Kings park are pretty rammed post game but whats Croftfoot like? Is it easier to walk there and jump on the train going the opposite direction from the centre? Or is it best to try and grab a bus somewhere? I did look at walking back to Rutherglen and getting a train from there but google maps has it as 40 mins(and its usually pissing down at home games). Sorry, I am from fife so only have a basic knowledge of the public transport.

    Any advice is appreciated

    Cheers

Nothing wrong with questioning things but why aren't the same folk who were so vocal about things apparently being terrible/club in a bad way/discontentment at the club before the meeting (which was seemingly the reason for it) suddenly utterly silent about that after the meeting and now don't even mention said meeting, let alone what was said in it?

I'm not sure which posters your are meaning. Could be me tbf given I did post a few things some fans I had spoke to were concerned about.

I suppose I still have questions to get clarity on but I have no idea how the meeting went. Tbh though if the meeting didnt go well after some of the shareholders were going into it with worries then we probably would have heard about it. Sounds like any concerns might have been addressed/clarfied which is good news.

I think one concern is the club being skint and we have signed a few players since then on loan.

  13. I think everyone is on the same page tbh.  No one is pannicking or blowing things out of proportion from what I have seen. Everyone has some questions and concerns including some shareholders who are hoping to get clarity next week when they meet one of the owners and chairman. Even Wacky doesn't think they are asset stripping which he has clarified several times. These things can spiral on forums etc when people are discussing it, but I don't see anyone at this stage going over the top

Did you not have something like a 30% sell on fee for Nisbet, who moved on for £2Million? If that’s vanished plugging holes that’s got to be a serious concern.

It was confirmed a short time ago at a supporters meeting that the nesbitt money is gone. Now that could be to cover the shortfall of relegation and the deals Wacky mentions. But you are right it's a concern with no clarity
