Ross Millen didn't briefly become an international celebrity and give Raith fans one of their great moments.

But if the club don't say anything, then people can't complain about other fans going on about Ali Adams.  After all, he came in scored a goal, kept a clean sheet, got replaced by an inexperienced kid, the goals against column started to tick up alarmingly, and so naturally, we are going to ask, "what happened to that goalkeeper who looked a bit handy earlier on in the season" and made all those international headlines.  He even won an award at the end of season awards which were not advertised to anyone, and which he was apparently not allowed to attend.  So no, if the club don't say anything, then other fans are going to keep going on about him, and there can't really be any complaints about that.

So make a statement because he scored a goal? 😂

Everyone is just latching on to any bit of negativity they can, it’s toxic behaviour

  2. Can’t release a statement over every little thing that happens

The latest tweets are a bit of a piss take though and it would be funny for the club to tell him to ram it

In reality though it’s a pretty petty thing to do maybe better to just leave him to it and not stoop to his level

Why is every response about this so vague? Is he in the MI5?

    What has he actually done?

    He does what he wants

The guys clearly a very decent keeper and has a lot of ability but you can see why he’s not played at a much better level than the one he’s spent most of his career at

And it’s got nothing to do with Arbroath or Jim McIntyre

  4. Also see on the engaging with fans comments

I do agree he should make more of an effort - but see the position he’s in and the teams in, and this was true when Dick left too

Going over to and making an effort with the fans, when some are giving him absolute dogs abuse ( I get that’s part of football ) is so much easier said than done

Look at what happened when Dick come over to the fans towards the end of his reign… if things aren’t good on the park the manager doing that is asking for trouble

Yesterday 100% individual errors cost us,

But McIntyre gives of no vibes or nothing to suggest he can turn things around,

My frustrations yesterday were with the team selection, if it's a dead game for us why are we not playing the likes of Gaston who could be a great goalie for us next year, Why not give Lyon a game In midfield over McKinnon, What is the point in bringing on Bird when the game is dead? Wouldn't of had any of the loan players near the team yesterday,

Then at the end he couldn't of gotten up the tunnel any quicker, there was a very decent crowd yesterday for last game of season, we were absolutely humped yet the fans still stuck around at end and there was zero appreciation apart from a couple of players,

There is zero connection between McIntyre and fans, he really needs to work on that side of things and maybe he will get a bit more understanding and time from fans,

Absolutely agree with all of this

Think it’s looking like Gaston won’t be our keeper next season so that’s probably why. Probably won’t have Lyon here either considering the lack of minutes he’s had

On Bird I’ve heard that his attitude is not great which would explain that. Also definitely be away

If he had the chance I’m quite sure McIntyre would’ve quite happily have just not had these games to play

We’ve not been relegated in a long time or had all these issues to deal with

Nah you’re right, a record of:

    P23 W2 D5 L16 F19 A59 pts11

    8.5% win rate

Can be completely blamed on individual player error and has nothing to do with the manager.

Quite simply - every team, at every level, in every league, in every country - it’s the manager who is held responsible for results and performances. You cannot break every game and every goal down to minute individual error and use those as an excuse to defend stats like those above.

Of course every team has an off day and many factors can contribute to that, including individual error but a constantly underperforming team is the managers fault.

Having said all that, like Campbell before, I genuinely really do want McIntyre to turn this round. Unfortunately I just can’t see a single thing to make me think that that will happen.

Your reaction to that game yesterday shows that you don’t look very interested in letting McIntyre try turn this around, we are a team that’s been relegated, playing for nothing and with over half the team yesterday away at the end of the season and you’re saying the buck stops with McIntyre for players making simple basic defensive mistakes and demanding for him to be sacked

Really does not look like you want McIntyre to turn it around to be completely honest

Watched the highlights of yesterdays game. Though they scored some cracking goals we did ourselves no favours for any off them.

1st goal. Ball bouncing around in the box but we have bodies back. Gold has slotted into CB as Little has gone out wide to challnge for ball. Dow can be seen getting back to and goes into the box running past 2 QP players at the edge. If he stays at the edge then he would have been in a position to stop the shot or got the ball.

2nd goal. Little 3/4 yards behind Steele and Teale (cant see Delaney) and player makes run. Simple ball, Little plays him on and Teale chasing QP player and its a goal.

3rd goal. Steele makes a hash of it. Let it bounce and caught out. Little and co just jogging back expecting Steele to deal with it. Once he fucks up no on is position to defend properly.

4th goal. Free kick into box that no one seems to attack. QP boy brings it down, turns and blasts it in.

5th goal. Easy ball down the right. Ball passed to edge of box and Slater misjudges his attempt to get the ball. Looks like he will get it but seemingly backs out at then decides to go for it at last second and misses it. QP player controls, plenty of space and curls in a perfect shot.

5 goals that are caused by players just not turning up. Individual mistakes that have been happening throughout the season. Players with no confidence and switching off.

I actually feel quite bad for slagging Teale for the first, but he absolutely could have lumped it instead of the wee shitey volley he did to the edge of the box where Sheridan knocked it down to Thomas. It’s an unbelievable finish

The second is a ball over the top

The third basically sums up the second and the entire shit show at the moment, our player should’ve been well in control of the situation as he was clearly on the right side of the ball and should’ve easily gotten to it first. To lose a goal from that position is inexcusable, just so lacklustre and I would go as far as saying unprofessional. Something that happens in amateur football

Obvious to anyone with half a brain cell. Unfortunately some fans would believe Ali Adams if he told them the moon was made of cheese.

I quite liked him but this is becoming a bit embarrassing now. It’s one side of the story and very bitter and done for the sole purpose of lapping up attention and undeserved sympathy.

I mean the fact that he has done so well when he’s been on the park and scored that goal too - but has now been frozen out - kind of shows just how bad the off the park stuff has been with him if anything. If it was just down to all his on the park performances the manager would be dying to keep him around and in the squad

You're just being ridiculous now. If we have a crap start to the season McIntyre will be punted. The notion that any manager here can stay as long as they want regardless of how they are doing is laughable tbh

If McIntyre lost 8 out of his first 10 league games next season, you doubt a board who have been very open about going for promotion wouldn't sack him? That's quite simply you taking things to an extreme. In terms of the 'club being sack averse' I don't quite get this. Our board is a very different one from that we had in the 2000s, and the 2010s, the majority of the personnel have changed, the chairman has changed etc.

The 'happy clapping' stuff and 'shiny new signing' stuff I don't get either. I've not see anyone 'happy clapping' this season. We all, to a man, woman and child, agree it's been a shit season where absolutely nothing has gone right. In terms of the new signings - this is a bewildering comment to me. Are you saying that we cannot be happy about anything, any players re-signing, any new signings we bring in, because Jim McIntyre is the manager? Essentially we all have to be angry, unhappy and think everything is shite until he's gone?

    Couldn’t have put it better

I can see why folk want the conversation to end cause it’s going round in circles and he’s been backed by the club. Thats a fair point of view to have but you can’t say that it’s pointless people chatting about the club letting McIntyre go. I know things were more positive after this meeting but I remember thinking Lumsden spoke ok at his pre season chat with fans and we all know what happened there so forgive me for it not making me feel any better.

Fair play to Gold and Stewart leading some of the players to the fans at the end and to those players who acknowledged the home support. As mentioned above, I was also looking for our manager to show a bit of leadership and to acknowledge the fans the end and he was nowhere to be seen which to be honest I think is absolutely criminal. Show a bit of something that shows us you want to be here as well. I tell you it’s done nothing to help the case for him to stay

Yeah you’re right. I just mean that you can already see that nobody will be able to discuss anything without some posters turning it into a McIntyre must go merry go round straight away - and all it’ll end up with is this place being a no go zone

Happened with all the great news about Gallagher and the players signing on and it’s gonna happen all summer long

It’s like some of us have transformed into some of the Dundee supporters that come in here every now and then  - there’ll be guys that post in this thread incessantly posting about McIntyre in another clubs thread when he moves on to his next job

Did they actually though? Because your official attendance for last Saturday's dead rubber was an obvious work of fiction.

Agreed incidentally that Gayfield looks great with the investment put in over the past few years. I viewed Station Park as a benchmark for a well-kept, traditional 'wee' ground (as opposed to the three big terraces left in Scotland) but the investment at Arbroath is clear and should presumably see you through without too much further outlay.

Yeah it was busy - also maybe looks that way from the away end cause it’s packed full of bairns - although I wasn’t at last weeks game so can’t comment on it

We've sacked 2 managers in 24 years, plenty of our fans seem to have looked at this season and gone "yeah, he's done enough to get the summer", and now we're being told "stop complaining, he's going nowhere, so just accept it and get on board".

We're watching the club commit completely avoidable self harm, which some of the older amongst us have seen before, but we're apparently not supposed to mention it, because there's no point.

So can it be changed?  If McIntyre loses 4 of the first 5 league games next season, will the board sack him?  How about if he loses 8 of the first 10?  In both cases, I highly doubt it.  Our club is seriously sack averse.  Especially if they see the support happily clapping along to the shiny new signings. McIntyre will only go if he chooses to resign.

Just cannot take you seriously when you’re coming away with happy clapper comments and this whole shiny new signings shite

Also if you think plenty of people are happy in regards to McIntyre then you just quite clearly do not get it and there’s no point trying to make you get it

    Circles, round in… etc 👍🏻

    2 seasons of absolute pish.

If it wasn't for last season’s player of the year Gatts this would have happened 12 months ago. Sorry but I'm really worried

Think you have to remember a really good Arbroath side has no right to survive and would find it difficult to stay in the Championship

Never mind an average to poor one who’s had a humongous amount of long term injuries to key players over the course of the season

There is no point worrying too much - I know it can feel like the walls are caving in around you after a result like todays but when think of it objectively and look at next seasons league and the players we’ve got signed up for next year I’m not really understanding what the point of being really worried is.

If the only problem is the manager that can be changed

Every other thing about the club looks really fucking rosey when put in perspective - already relegated long before today and been getting absolutely pumped rotten while putting in poor displays and 1300 still turned up (1200 home fans) to watch it at a Gayfield thats been upgraded and renovated looking absolutely superb.

It’s the sad end to a superb period of the clubs history but football is always up and down for fans of 95 percent of clubs in Scotland

  13. This is just going round in circles

There are people who are willing to give him a chance because the club have backed him

And then there are people who will be shouting for him to be sacked every day until he leaves the club regardless of what happens

All the back and forth stuff can just be wrapped because the above isn’t changing

  14. 3 minutes ago, lichtiemike said:

I’m not buying the “McIntyre can’t do much about the errors” stuff.

The change of shape contributed to the indecision we saw on the pitch from individuals, a shape he himself says we won’t be playing next season.

Constantly playing all of our shit loan signings also requires some explanation too.

I thought the back 4 was

    Steele RB

    Little CH

    Teale CH

    Delaney LB

I mean I was hardly watching but I didn’t see 3 at the back.

All I’m saying is you cannot put all the blame on to McIntyre, it’s simple stuff that the players on the park should be able to deal with

  15. 2 minutes ago, SimonLichtie said:

I for one will be taking absolutely nothing out of a dead rubber end of season game with a team full of players who won't be here next year in the starting 11.

I also find it utterly bizarre people are complaining about McIntyre/ tactics when it comes to the 3 goals conceded in the first half..... All 3 of them individual errors by players who won't be playing for the club next season. How on earth can you have seen those goals and blame McIntyre over Steele/ teale/ Ricky I do not know

Steele will be here. I’m not sure if he was subbed because of the mistake but I’m kind of thinking he must have been struggling with an injury or something.

Really don’t know what McIntyre obsession is with MacKinnon either. Would be worried if we signed him for next season, not upto it yet, big gangly young lad a mile off the pace. Man down in the middle of the park

  16. 4 minutes ago, ExiledLichtie said:

Our centre halves never had a problem punting the ball before, so is McIntyre coaching the team to pass the ball about?  So yes, coaching is part of it, as are tactics.   Defensive organisation too.  He has to go.  We cannot go into a new season with him as our manager.

Still no doubt the club will announce a shiny shiny contract renewal or a shiny shiny new signing soon.

I really don’t think anyone is telling Teale to not clear a ball in that situation - he shouldn’t need told

Players aren't blameless here. If your defence cannot deal with a simple clearance or a simple ball over the top then it doesn’t really matter who’s standing on the sidelines

  17. 6 minutes ago, ExiledLichtie said:

    Coaching?  Tactics?

Centre halves don’t need coached to punt the ball away instead of side foot volleying it trying to find a pass in their own box surely

Ball over the top and right through the middle for the second

Steele was ahead of their player for the third and somehow their player got to it first

That is just a lack of desire and not being good enough - nothing to do with tactics or coaching - not saying they are any use right now either but not sure how they’re to blame for that defending

  18. 6 minutes ago, lichtiemike said:

Surely nobody still thinks keeping McIntyre on for next season is a good idea, this is absolutely pathetic.

    I don’t think it’s a good idea but it’s happening

Also not sure what he’s supposed to do about some of that defending from Teale and Ricky. Steele on the 3rd too

Combination of chucking it and already being not good enough and this is the result

Actually find myself at 2/3-0 down now just really hoping it doesn’t get too embarrassing now

This is the longest spell of us being utter shite I can ever remember, two full years of torture
