Has anyone on here ever stayed in accommodation run by Unite? One of my flatmates in halls is considering it for next year but is a bit unsure about what they'd be like.
Depends on the place I imagine.
We stayed in Unite accommodation last year. The rooms were small and awkwardly set out to make the most of the space. For example the bed was elevated well off the floor which was a pain. The kitchen equipment was very basic too.
On the plus side heating was free and maintenance was generally pretty quick.
In my case I moved in with 11 friends and it was just a fantastic year with a whole floor taken up by our group. The accommodation wasn't great but with the right people it does its job.
This is probably common sense but if your friend knows anyone staying there just now he should ask them for a quick look around and how they feel about the place because our flats did not resemble the show flat.
ETA - On the deposit issue I've heard stories about fines etc. We were lucky in that everyone in our group got our full deposit back. That seems a fairly rare occurrence from what I've heard.

Fire up this topic again lads! I've got my popcorn out.

Your team is playing against one of the best teams in world football yet you're on here arguing with fans of a club which is barely two years old. Even better you could have been at the game embarrassing the country!
Can we not just accept that they are of course a new club and move on with it? If they want to deny it, so be it. I think everybody knows the truth.
Speaks volumes of Old Firm (or whatever we're calling it) fans.

I fancy getting a bike. Not too confident with the whole junction/roundabout/signalling/looking round while moving though.

Did the decent players on here all start off taking a lot of darts for the doubles?
Also hitting the 1 and the 5 while going for the 20, and a particular annoyance of mine, aiming for D1 and hitting the T20?
Maybe not the same, but did everyone start off similar?

But to see the same dart side by side, when looking beyond it and it could be either depending on what eye is shut?

Is that normal I take it?

If I can see the dart through both eyes when looking at the board, how do I know which one I am supposed to aim?

I don't know whether this is normal or whether it is caused by having worn glasses or what, but when I look past an object I see double of any objects in my line of vision infront of that object. So, when I look at my board, I can see the one dart twice, through either eye. Is this normal? It puts me off a bit because I'm not sure what one to aim with.

Remove the blindfold .
not too bad. Give me 4 months and I'll be in the 90's.

Are there any good darts players on here?
Also, does anyone have any tips for someone who has been throwing for years, but only started to take it seriously very recently?
I know it's very poor, but my three dart average is around 40 and my doubles are fairly poor.
Obviously, without seeing me, there is only so much to say, but what do you think I should practice the most? My doubles, just treble 20/19, all of my singles, work on grouping perhaps? Or even just play lots of 301's 501's etc.?

Can I ask what is the difference between the Sky darts and BBC darts?
What one is better? If the Sky one is better then why does this Adams chap not give it a go?

Reading The Da Vinci Code just now.

Angels and Demons, in terms of reading adult books, I don't have much to compare it to, but 10/10.
Started reading sail, story seems good, don't particularly like the way it is written though.

Today I bought
Angels and Demons by Dan Brown which I have started reading and Sail by James Patterson (I think)
£12 for the pair from WHS.
Does anyone know how much the postage from Amazon used books is?

Although, I suppose in certain ways it is reasonably entertaining.

Who's Going To Uni?

What city are you in? It may be worth considering similar companies to Unite, but not Unite if you get me.
One of my friends stayed here for 3 years and never had any complaints about it: http://glasgow.victoriahall.com/
I don't know what sort of price you're talking, I didn't bother looking. That's the extent of my knowledge of Glasgow. If by any chance we're talking about Aberdeen I might be more help.
