  1. HFL could go to 17 and still have the same number of matchdays. Fort William are in real danger of collapse or withdrawal, but it's nothing to do with Cowden or whoever being relegated.
  2. Yeah, it's really interesting; I've been keeping an eye on it all season. The fact Gordon & Co did not even know what happened to team 42 and beyond was simply staggering. I didn't think my opinion of them could sink any lower this season, but there you go...
  3. He is partly wrong. A relegated SPFL team goes into either the HL or LL, depending if they are N or S of the Tay. If Cowden do go down this year, a second team would be relegated from the LL to either the SoS or EoS league.
  4. A very common misconception. It was Pit-Fhodraidh , approximately pronounced pityodray. It means the place of flowers iirc.
  5. 11 goalies and a slow, midget central midfielder. I don't actually want it announced until it's 100% we're not for the drop. He can tell the players, and the rest of the world as soon as they come out the dressing room after the match on whatever day we achieve that.
  6. Mods, please. The Gazebo (note capitalisation) was a magnificent hotbed of Bairn-ness, bawdy banter and all for a sensational £150 Season Ticket price. GBNF.
  7. Dumbarton can finish on 45 points. We therefore need 8 points to surpass that.
  8. Missed yesterday due to work as I said earlier, and my correspondent at the game assures me I was the lucky one. Inverness A Dundee Utd A St Mirren A Dumbarton A St Mirren H Well there's going to be about two points secured from that little lot so thankfully I'm busy for the rest of the season too. Enjoy the games, those who go, and July can't come soon enough.
  9. Any other Pars want to help this utter gonk out? Because, eesht...
  10. That drives me mental. You see it more and more often. It's the PA or whoever provides the game data that notate the goalscorers and the number that are called wrong is a nonsense. The MacLean one is a dreadful call, and obviously an o.g. but sadly part of a wider pattern.
  11. Ummm that's his name boys. Aaron Doran Cogan. Known colloquially as Aaron Doran.
  12. That's basically it. We could storm the league or quite possibly have another nightmare like this one. Regarding the marketing, I think those guys do an amazing job. All the trucks and hot tubs get people talking about us, and look around the stadium the next time you're there. Pretty much every square centimetre is covered in logos. But to people like me and many others on here that has absolutely no impact on the chances of us going to the match on a Saturday or not. It's not for us.
  13. "A great response on social media" "Lots of listeners have been getting in touch" "Give us a flavour of..." All Kenny Mac-isms. Get them added; they appear nightly.
  14. We've played Brechin twice in our last 8 though. Plus Dumbarton and ICT at home.
  15. After a listening 'career' going all the way back to Tom Ferry, I've reluctantly decided that enough's enough. I simply can't listen to it any more. I rate Richard Gordon, and Tom English, and even Derek Ferguson's passion for all levels of the game, but it's truly awful. By all accounts Clyde is worse, so when I'm not at the Bairns game, FotMob updates and tunes on in the background it is for me now. I'll read the match reports later to see how it all went down.
  16. The fact that in almost every single game I watch there are pundits questioning refereeing decisions or utterly baffled by them leads me to think that largely the refereeing is dreadful. The culture of not nailing the officials is meritorious but allows them to get away with murder.
  17. Aye but look at our fixtures. St Mirren A Dundee Utd A Dumbarton A QOS A Inverness A Very difficult games and if our form shades we could easily only get a couple of points out of that lot. Of course we should be aiming for three wins at least though. Brechin H Dunfermline H St Mirren H Realistically should be looking for going unbeaten here, 5 to 7 points should be attainable. I just can't see us getting more than about 9 or 10 more points this season which will not be enough for the play offs.
  18. My laddie and wife hammered through that over the weekend! Recommended by them too.
  19. I just got Netflix the other day. Enjoying the Expanse and one or two other things. Been recommended to watch Breaking Bad, but I see there's like 55 episodes, and I simply can't be arsed putting that sort of effort in. Would it be worth it?
  20. Absolutely. As a 7 year old growing up in Inverness in 1980, my uncle was sort of steering me towards the blue part of Glasgow. Then came the riot at the cup final, and I vividly remember my dad (who hates football) telling me that I could support a team if I wanted, but not any of the Auld Firm. I shrugged my shoulders and said, I was born in Falkirk, I'll support them. Then I went and looked at the league table... A couple of years later my mum phoned up the club to ask if there was such a thing as a supporters' club. She spoke to Brian Guthrie, and before you knew it we were the guests of the club for a game against Clyde, stadium tour, meet all the players, the works. The game got postponed, but I watched the lads train on the pitch (!!!) and was invited back a couple of months later and was the mascot for a game against Clydebank. It all spiralled downhill from there... Never ever ever for one second have I felt anything apart from supreme gratitude to my dad for having that talk with me. I am very sure your kids will feel the same @Tartantony
  21. Good on you Tony. Make sure and describe yourself as a Dumbarton supporter from now on, maybe with a soft spot for Celtic if you must. Not the other way around!
  22. Surely a player "signs" the extension which the club holds the right to, when he signs the initial contract? e.g. McGhee will have known that he's with us until the end of next season if the club so wish come the time to trigger the extension.
