People said the same about Hibs against Livingston.

I don't think it should be understated how bad yesterday was. The fans turned on the players about about 15 minutes and they just shrunk. This feels like a squad who'll start getting "injuries" because they don't fancy that.

    Hamilton?

Alloa have play off games to come so the management will have it drummed into them the importance of going canny.

Falkirk players have the chance to write themselves into the clubs history book and will play out their skins.

Our midfield will be key in protecting a possible make shift defence

It's going to be one hell of a day

I'm going to be in a conference room near Edinburgh Airport!

    Absolutely making buttons here already.

Good chance that we could have 4 full backs as our defence next week. Not sure that I'd want MacIver playing at the back? He'd be good in the air obviously, but he looks like his concentration can waver a bit at times for me.

Sammon and Wales will be licking their lips!

My DOOM for this is unchanged; we'll just have to go out and outscore them. Probably will need 4 the way bad luck at the back and refereeing seems to be going... 😑

    It's a disgrace.

I have less than zero interest in woman's football, the Brazilian state championship or (hilariously!) the Saudi league. I appreciate others might have.

Can I personalise the Scores/Fixtures page to cut such guff out? No.

Can I at least scan down and see the scorers? Not any more.

The page doesn't even seem to auto-update any more. Joke.

Oh, and they don't seem to have attendances on any of the tabs.

Recommend the SPFL's own pages for after game browsing for folks. Don't know about live stuff.

The new BBC Football page when accessing the live scores is a fucking nightmare. No option to change to the lower leagues. Not really the thread for this but not worth creating a new thread.

You used to get some mental sagas in the FA Cup. I seem to remember Everton being involved in a tie that took in something daft like five replays. Everyone just heartsick of the whole thing by the time it's over.

During harsh winters we'd also have the daft scenario of games being called off multiple times. Wasn't there an early-stage Scottish Cup game in the Eighties that had something like thirty postponements? I seem to remember Huntly being involved, and it made the national news in England when it was finally played.

    Inverness Thistle v Falkirk, 1979. 29 postponements.

Motherwell have evaded relegation twice during this not quite so impressive 40 year period - League Reconstruction saved them in 1986 and the 10,000 seater stadium rule in 2003. They recovered from administration with no points deduction the following season by offering better deals to two Thistle's players and then voting to waive the 10,000 seater rule and relegate Thistle.

Motherwell were also saved from relegation in 1955 by another League Reconstruction. I was expecting a League reconstruction proposal when they were in the relegation zone earlier this season.

    An impressively establishment club!

They have been utterly shameless over the years.

In terms of Scottish football, it's a wild fall which is probably unlikely to be replicated barring a team getting into financial difficulty which renders them uncompetitive over numerous seasons.

The case of Paderborn in Germany in the past decade is the most extreme example of the antithesis of this thread:
    13/14 - 2nd in 2.Bundesliga, promoted
    14/15 - 18th in Bundesliga, relegated
    15/16 - 18th in 2.Bundesliga, relegated
16/17 - 18th in 3.Liga - should have been relegated but saved on a technicality because 1860 Munich lost their license and were demoted
    17/18 - 2nd in 3.Liga, promoted
    18/19 - 2nd in 2.Bundesliga, promoted
    19/20 - 18th in Bundesliga, relegated

So not only a mad fall from grace between 13/14 and 16/17, but then back to back promotions to follow it (and then another relegation). They've finally calmed the f**k down and settled in the 2nd tier for the last 4 seasons.

The German side I keep an eye out for, Kaiserslautern, have had a similar rollercoaster. From top end 1. BL down to flailing around near the bottom of 3. BL, promotion last year, smashing it until the winter break, now unable to buy a win and likely to go back down again.

Just the small matter of a DFB Pokal Final this year though! (v Leverkusen)
