  2. Some big scores in South Challenge Cup last week too and has been in Scottish Cup before plus upsets in all 3 tournaments too. Dundee North End didn't want to take it easy obviously as would often happen once you get to 8-12 goals..v obviously much lower standard of opponents.
  3. Was it a much changed Hearts B tonight then? If so why?
  4. We have had better results without Paul Paton in the team. In my opinion he cost us at least one point v St Rochs and it has looked like legs have went now and be better off in management. It frees up likely a decent wage to hopefully add a quality player to the squad. Tough game v Glasgow Perthshire on Saturday who put 7 past Irvine Vics away just 2 weeks ago.

  6. Campbelltown definitely a team that add something different to the West Region. Would love a few more of these types of teams. A very welcome addition and I hope they don't get despondent with some poor results.
  7. Some intriguing teams left in it for West teams to get. Strange that only 5 East Premier teams left in it with more in West Third Division left. I know partially luck of the draw and I wouldn't fancy playing an Eats Premier team left in the draw. Edinburgh College at home please. Broomhill

Nah I cant see Cumbernauld Colts finishing 2nd bottom. Could be totally wrong though then that would cause outrage amongst teams in 5th bottom in the West who most would assume were safe.
  10. I would be happy with 5th bottom and survival somehow this season. The club had their AGM yesterday and can imagine a few voices of concern would have been raised. I didn't go as I have a life at the weekend especially Sundays outside football . The previous chairman probably shouldn't be voicing his concerns online and leave it for AGM or in private but he isn't on committee anymore so can say how 5 points out of 21 isn't good enough which I do totally agree with and don't see her how anyone can argue otherwise. We didn't lose yesterday but need 3 wins in next 3 cup competitions then start picking up wins in league ASAP or will be 2nd Division football next season which is a complete shambles for all involved if that does happen but hopefully we can somehow get out of this rut...

    Broomhill

I really hope not as really not looking forward to playing them in West of Scotland 1st or 2nd Division in a couple of years . Plus the potential for 4 down in West leagues will catch some clubs by surprise I bet.
  12. If a 3 way play off and say Clydebank away to Musselburgh / Penicuik then no guarantee they would win that. Also Johnstone Burgh could still dig deep in transfer market come winter months and win league. Lot of football to be played yet.
  13. I was wondering if the SNP could simply say they are not making any cuts to public spending - £500 Million of cuts it's been reported today then say the UK will have to pay for this. Say we have balanced books for 17 years but f**k it we aren't going to and UK can bail us out as better together eh? I know that maybe won't work but seems crazy to just accept the spending we are given? Any better options?

    Broomhill

Completely pointless existence surely? Who does the club even benefit - a few egos? Have no core support and local team for area is clearly BSC Glasgow who managed to find a ground near enough to Broomhill surprisingly while closest Broomhill can get to Glasgow is Dumbarton?
  16. I thought as soon as Albion Rovers v Talbot came out that will be the BBC game as two names well known to Scottish football fans with what should be a close game with potential of higher division team losing out although upset would be a bit strong if Talbot were to win.
  17. Vale of Leithen have clearly got a better squad, more goals in them and a lot more confidence now not losing every week. Still a big upset.
  18. Super injury time comeback today for Meadow. We really needed that and thought the game was fizzling out at 2-1 down on 90 minutes but the players dug in and showed great spirit to win 3-2. Lot of time wasting from Preston in second half once they scored which every right to do so a bit fitting we scored two in injury time. We need to use that to kick start our season and hoping for kind home draw please next.
  19. In my opinion one of the reasons we still have so much debate about pyramid below SPFL is this daft request and lack of forward thinking of the future that any SPFL clubs might go down. With the geography and population of Scotland in my opinion it really should have been split into 3 - West, East & Highland Leagues. With winners going into a play off v bottom of SPFL Two but obviously wanted to protect club 42 to give them more chance to stay up with the current set up where club 42 just needs to win one play off game. I think for example Albion Rovers would have brought much more to West of Scotland Premier League than Broomhill will...perhaps as early as next season
  20. Is there any actual rumblings of a Central Junior League away from pyramid? If so Fauldhouse as they seem to be having a nightmare at very bottom of East now after being a big name at our level.
  21. I really hope not for Meadow to go to a new Junior league. We need to be in the pyramid for SFA license we worked so hard for and spent so much money on upgrading facilities especially floodlights so I highly doubt it. Hurlford would be the first big name I would think of who you often hear rumblings from their committee they are a Junior team and Killie are the local senior team plus don't seem interested at all in getting a SFA license as far as I can tell or read here and elsewhere.

  23. Edinburgh City have been on a bit of a rollercoaster ride in the last few years and nearly went out of business last season so probably not a good example . Their attendances still have went up nearly doubled or more from Lowland League days to be fair. Actually punching above their weight this season at this early stage.
  24. With Gala bottom and one of the favourites for relegation I can genuinely see Thomas Brown saying actually we will increase to 18 permanent teams from next season but no relegation this season with at least 2 up from West, East & South. As has been said Lowland League should be asking the question every season about 18 permanent teams for as long as Highland League have but perhaps happy with 2 - 4 guest B teams and money that comes with it.
  25. Most supporters in West should be hoping a licensed club wins the league and is promoted this season and same for next few seasons as likely only a matter of time before Broomhill and/or Cumbernauld Colts come down and that means potential for 4 down from every league...as Broomhill currently just on 1 point and ahead of Gala on goal difference only. Still very early but something to keep an eye on as season progresses and for future seasons too. Albion Rovers and East Kilbride could also come down West if relegated but both look to be challenging for promotion upwards or top half teams for a while yet.
