  1. it’s a trophy we have a chance of winning. Would love to take youngest daughter to a final and and see a trophy lifted. We auld guys don’t realise how good we had it, 3 Scottish Cup Finals, Spring Cup, multiple Challenge Cups, 2  promotions,  Europe. I want the youngsters to experience that, so take it serious and try to win everything. On another note eldest daughter’s been disowned as she asked what Airdrie top to get her partner. ‘The one with the red triangle?’ , I kid you not.

  2. My biggest take on that is that McCabe is learning. Last year at this time we went a man down against Edinburgh City and he went 5 up top. Going by the reactions of Todorov and Hancock at the final whistle they are buying into what’s happening and there’s a great team ethic in the place. Fans are on board also. Whilst we were lucky esp to be two up entirely due to Invernes mistakes we could have went in at the break 3 or 4 up while not playing particularly well. Inverness kept a close eye on McMaster in 1st half which I think hampered our passing game. Pleased for McGregor who I thinks getting a rough deal on here, there’s a player there and typical of wingers he’ll fade in and out of games. His run in the 2nd half deserved a goal. As said by others McMaster and Aiken were excellent esp once Frizzell went off. That was as nervous I’ve been at a game for a long while - was rattling for the 2nd half.  We’ll be nobodies pushovers this year.

  3. Can’t remember the last time I seen us beat thistle. That was a great performance and the best bit is there’s tons of room for improvement. Gallagher was frustrating with his miss and ignoring the pass in the first half but overall his work rate is brilliant and his header was a peach. Watson’s cross though? Was class. McMaster man of the match for me today. The passing out from the back is heart attack stuff but when it’s done well it’s great to watch. They couldn’t get near the ball for long spells in the 2nd half. Roll on next week.

  4. Been keeping quiet the last few weeks so not to jinx anything or tempt fate. I’m a superstitious old git. Anyway not sure if anyone else has said but I’m more confident in the board now than I was originally. The way they quietly go about the business (tell us eff all), at least they’re not dishing out the patronising claptrap that some do. They have thought out the box for the last two manager appointments. I for one favoured the cautious/ steady hand approach (Duffy) at the time but what do I know? We’ve seen how that panned out for Dumbarton and Clyde. Murray eventually provided a swashbuckling helter skelter of a team that galvanised and reenergised the fans. I also was surprised by the appointment of Rhys and Calum but Murrayball was replaced with energetic enthralling football that we haven’t seen since Archibalds Spanish Armada. I’m sure if Frizzell hadn’t been injured for the 6 weeks or so and we hadn’t had the bad spell after the Challenge Cup defeat the league title wouldn’t have been so clear cut for Dunfermline. That’s been part of the fun though. Strengthen the midfield (I think it’s a bit lightweight for the championship), a full back and centre half and we’re sorted for next season.
Finally, that was brilliant yesterday. To see the joy on my daughters face when it finished makes the last ten years of misery worthwhile.

Are people seriously debating whether Ballantyne deserved that 2nd yellow? It's as blatant as they come, takes the easy option of deliberately stepping towards the Dundee player to stop his run instead of actually turning and going with the runner. He is a total liability, 3 red cards by November is unacceptable (or at least would be in a team where we had an alternative..).

Thought it was harsh at the time but watching the highlights the ref got that one spot on.

It was unreal the amount of times their players picked up the ball in acres of space in the middle of the park, down the flanks or on the edge of the box.

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head . Its not necessarly the defence it’s the midfield leaves them woefully exposed. McMaster attempted 3-4 half hearted sliding tackles that he had no chance of success with - token efforts. We lost almost every 50/50 in the middle too. Gear too lightweight in the middle of the park.

  7. That was murder. Really naive to think you can play 3 (sometimes more) up front when you’re down to 10 men. 2 at the back in the 3nd half too. Justin Devenny isn’t a full back. Add to that too many players having a bad day at the same time. Fordyce was terrible today. Here’s hoping he learns from that. Stupid sending off too. Would’ve been better letting the goal in.

  8. Not sure what to think for this game. East End Park a hard place to go and you’re , like us, unbeaten. We’re prone to a defensive lapse or two but attacking wise it’s the best I’ve watched for a long time. If we can convert some of the chances we should create I’ll be happy. I’d take a draw at this stage in the season.

  9. Apologies for continuing the crowd w**k theme, but anyone know what the attendance was yesterday?

3026 apparently. I thought maybe a few more than that.

Enjoy the Championship. Will be interesting to see how you do considering they think they’re that far ahead of L1 clubs. Recruitment is key but I think you have the right management team in to take you further.
  10. That was an unbelievable game. You guys must be gutted but a few of your supporters were still good enough to congratulate us and wish us all the best when we walked by their bus after the game to our car. Fair play. All the best for next season guys wether we are in the same league as you or not.
