  1. They's probably need to nip across 4 or 5 borders - even in Yugoslavia days, they were nowhere close
  2. If he'd said "Rangers are a club that win with a nauseatingly false sense of superiority and lose in a tsunami of comedy statements and salt tears - and we may as well keep doing that", it would at least have been truthful...
  3. That's pretty much why I shared it - the pictures serve to trivialise/detract from the subject, when you would think that it should (even in the Sun) have been a serious piece that led to investigation or charges being brought. It also leaves the woman open to accusations from the usual places that "she brought it on herself" and all that sort of shite....
  4. I put arguably as I'm not arrogant enough to think my opinion is the final word on anything I watched Campbell against Hibs at Fir Park and I compared his performance to the one that I saw in the first half at the corresponding fixture at Easter Rd (when the team also wasn't playing well) - and I saw a big drop off. But that's fine! He was dropped/rested after the semi and that was fine too - he is potentially a fantastic player (and has indeed been superb at times) but we need to look after him and not burden him with unrealistic "first name on the teamsheet" type expectations...
  5. Allan Campbell's form has arguably shaded too - but I assume that his contract extension was acceptable? I thought the reason for Kipre's extension was patently obvious to everyone and therefore not controversial - he was on a one year deal on low wages and (given his start to the season) would be exceptionally easy for another club (even at our level) to pick up on a pre-contract in January with the promise of a 2 year deal and a pay rise. You could feasibly accuse the club of bad judgement if that was your opinion but not of a lack of foresight as they are extending these contracts precisely with an eye to the medium term stability of the squad (and club). A lack of foresight was the Dempster/McCall years where international-class assets were allowed to leave for nothing and we were left with nothing to show for our best team in years. Both Campbell and Kipre are young, inexperienced players who have the attributes to be excellent at our level - and to step up a level too - assuming that they continue to develop. In order to develop, both of these players will naturally have off games and runs of bad form - and will make mistakes. Unfortunately for Kipre, a mistake in central defence tends to be more obvious and more damaging than a similar one in midfield but that is something he needs to learn from. We simply can't have it both ways - we either have a predominantly young squad, with all the freshness, energy and sales potential (and mistakes!) that brings - or we fill the squad with experienced journeymen of the Hartley mould, who may be more accomplished but offer no resale value....
  6. Apologies for sharing the entire article (even more so as it's from The Sun) - but it's kind of the point. I don't know where to start with this one - the woman in the article sounds like she's had to put up with all manner of sleazy shite in the time she worked in Westminster - but juxtaposing that with lots of sexy snaps of her would be pretty poor, even by Sun standards. But some of the photos seem likely to have been provided by the woman herself, so er.... I've got no illusions about the way the tabloids work or that people will do anything for a few quid or some publicity - but if that was the case, it would be in pretty poor taste.... Also - given that she left in 2015 and mentions an SNP MP as a serial sleazebag - from a time they only had 5 (male) MP's - it doesn't take much imagination to come up with a shortlist.... PESTMINSTER HELL Former Westminster bar manager claims she was pestered for sex by up to 30 MPs — including one who ‘groped her on the bus’ Alice Bailey, who worked in Parliament’s notorious Sports and Social Bar, reveals she was 'regularly pestered for sex by men working in Westminster' EXCLUSIVE By Andrew Parker 8th November 2017, 10:29 pm Updated: 9th November 2017, 11:25 am Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window) NOW COMMENT A FORMER Westminster bar manager told how she was repeatedly pestered for sex by up to 30 MPs — including one who followed her out and groped her. Alice Bailey, 25, who worked there for nearly four years, said some spent all day boozing — occasionally popping back into the chamber to vote before carrying on drinking until late. DAN CHARITY - THE SUN 15 Alice Bailey worked as a bar manager at Parliament’s notorious Sports and Social Bar Many behaved like “obnoxious old pervs”, she said, adding: “They fancied their chances because I was just a young barmaid and in their minds they were very important people who presumed I would be available.” But she went on: “They were such creeps. It was pathetic as they were nearly all married and at least twice my age.” Alice, who started working as a barmaid at Parliament’s notorious Sports and Social Bar – run by a social club and regulated by the House of Lords -when she was 19, told how: ONE SNP MP begged her for sex two hours into her first shift; A VETERAN Labour member sank 12 pints then followed her home and groped her; A WELSH MP spread lies about bedding her after she confronted him about his womanising; MPs enjoyed regular drunken snogs in corridors with researchers before heading back to their families; A PLUMBER visiting the bar told an MP to shut his mouth after he made lewd comments; BOOZY MPs and guests would regularly get through five bottles of Jagermeister a night. 15 Alice goes on to reveal that she was repeatedly pestered for sex by up to 30 MPs PAUL TONGE - THE SUN 15 Alice believes the MPs ‘fancied their chances’ Play Video Alice Bailey parties with pals on holiday in Portugal The notorious Sports and Social Bar is in earshot of the Commons voting bell, so boozy members can nip to and from the chamber. Alice, who started there in 2011, said: “They trot out and vote and pop back for a refill. What a life.” She told how a Labour MP once had his first pint of Guinness at noon and was the only one left when she served him his 12th at 11.15pm. Alice said: “He leaned over the bar and asked me – all slurry – to go back to his flat for a whisky. PAUL TONGE - THE SUN 15 One night an MP followed her out of work and ‘groped her’ 15 Alice worked in the bar for nearly four years “I had heard him bragging about sex before and knew he was after more than just a bit of company. “He was old enough to be my grandad. I had a boyfriend and told him ‘No’ in no uncertain terms.” She then locked up and left, but saw him loitering as she headed to a bus stop for the journey home. Alice went on: “I assumed he would give up and got on the bus. But I was stunned when he hopped on as well and sat down beside me. “Then he grabbed my thigh quite aggressively and said, ‘So what about that whisky, Alice?’ I screamed at him, ‘Just f*** off.’” She jumped off and asked her bosses the next day if she should go to the police — but was told nobody would believe her. Tune into Julia Hartley-Brewer for more on this story… 15 From 10am on talkRADIO.co.uk on DAB or via the app 15 She explains how some MPs spent all day boozing and would occasionally pop back into the chamber to vote before returning DAN CHARITY - THE SUN 15 After working at the bar, Alice realised what powerful people MPs are and she just felt like a kid behind the bar Alice said: “I realised in that moment what powerful people MPs are and I was just a kid behind the bar. Then to add insult to injury the MP came in with a youngish woman on his arm and smiled, as if to say, ‘Don’t worry I got another one’.” Alice also reported another womanising MP who tried it on with her two hours into her very first shift. She rejected the married SNP member’s pleas for her to go to his hotel room — and her manager later identified him without her even naming him. Alice recalled: “My boss said straightaway, ‘He’s always at it, just ignore him.’” She said she was propositioned by up to 30 MPs before she left in 2015 – many from Northern and Scottish constituencies who were away from their families. 15 This sign was in the Parliament Sports and Social Club but has since been removed PAUL TONGE - THE SUN 15 The former barmaid says that most MPs think of themselves as ‘God’s Gift’ Alice said: “A lot of the MPs were put up at the Park Plaza Hotel just over Westminster Bridge. “Many thought they were God’s Gift as they appeared on telly or in the papers. They would whisper their room number or drop the key card on the bar. It was pathetic.” Alice, who was once ordered by her boss to wear a sexy Santa outfit for a Christmas party, also told how a Welsh Labour MP spread malicious rumours about her. She said: “I saw him snogging a woman in a corridor one night. “The next week he was upset, saying his wife was threatening to leave. I told him he should stop messing around with other women. 15 The sports and social club at Westminster is run by a social club and regulated by the House of Lords 15 Alice even experienced lies and false rumours spread the commons about her “A few weeks later I found out he had spread false rumours that he had slept with me. I was livid.” Alice said members would regularly make obnoxious comments about her backside, and “say in lewd detail what they’d like to do”. Teams of builders doing work at the Commons were said to be “appalled” by their behaviour. Alice, from Walsall, said: “I remember a plumber told one MP to shut his dirty mouth after he had been talking openly about sex in front of me. He was embarrassed for me and put him in his place.” Alice called the cops the night Labour’s Eric Joyce got involved in an infamous punch-up there in 2013. The Sun also told last week how a sign there read: “What happens here stays here! Violators will be shot — survivors will be shot again.” It was taken down the next day. 15 Alice describes some of the MPs behaved like ‘obnoxious old pervs’ around her 15 Alice reveals how another MP tried it on with her two hours into her very first shift Alice said: “I would stand there some nights and think it was unbelievable these are the people running the country. Most Thursday nights the bar would be rammed because most MPs went home on Friday and those who stayed over were partying with researchers. “Nearly everyone would get paralytic on countless pints and shots. “We would go through five bottles of Jagermeister and there would be all kinds of snogging and cuddling in the corridors. God knows what went on over in the Park Plaza.” LIB Dem leader Sir Vince Cable last night admitted the party had let down victims of sexual harassment after claims it tried to cover up a rape allegation. DAN CHARITY - THE SUN 15 Thursday nights at the Westminster bar would be rammed because most MPs went home on Friday
  7. Accents fine and I agree - but surely a bare minimum for being on the radio is being vaguely articulate. You can have all the knowledge in the world but if you can't communicate them, you shouldn't be there...
  8. Feel a bit sorry for The Plum© actually - of everyone that signed, he's really never been quoted for a 1st team game (probably as Hammy hasn't really been injured)...
  9. I think everyone concerned will take that. I like that the hearing was brought forward to benefit the establishment club.
  10. When he used to do a written column on the BBC website, it was fucking atrocious - just really badly done in every respect. So any thought that his strength was in being a hack that stumbled into broadcasting can be cast aside.
  11. Like most that actually go to games, I only really hear the "before" and "after" parts of Sportsound - I never listen to commentary games or open all mic's. That being the case, it's perfectly possible that (as a diddy team supporter) I hear nothing about the game I'm at that day as it's not really mentioned beforehand and is only mentioned in passing when reading the scores afterwards. What I do often get is lots of listening to Pat Bonner talking in moronic platitudes about a run of the mill Celtic victory for what seems like half the time before OTB comes on. Every second spent listening to Pat Bonner is a wasted second.
  12. A surreal attempt by the BBC to have St Mirren back in the Scottish Premiership...
  13. Couldn't agree more with all of that. With the exception of the chaotic game in Perth, no-one has given us a tanking (we've still to play Celtic though) and that is the single biggest difference in us this season. For the last couple of years, it's felt at times like we had to score 2 to get a point given the frailty of our defence. Now, if we score once there's a great chance we'll take something from the game and that is the key to success in our league. In the circumstances where you don't lose many goals, the pressure to have a roy of the rovers type striker that drags you out of trouble in every game - as Moult has consistently done for us - is far less. If Moult goes in January, he'll be up there with the best strikers I've seen at 'Well (although not at Arnott & Coyne levels of man-love from me) and I'd hope we'd take the opportunity to use some of the cash to test the resolve of another (lower division English) club who have their star man in the last 6 months of his contract.
  14. If QPR were to come in with a decent bid in January - I think it would be hard to turn down, both from a financial point of view but also from the point of view of our business plan. If we are seen to be blocking a player getting a good move move to the English Championship, that wouldn't be a good look for our future recruitment - whereas if we can point to another former player taken from lower league and sold to a higher level, then that helps. The only circumstance that I could see us blocking such a move would be where we have a form crash and end up back in the relegation mix and we need Moult's goals to survive again (but you'd have to hope that we aren't in that boat this season)....
  15. The problem for this age-old classic is that we've now got actual evidence that the strength of Rangers has little bearing on the performance of everyone else (or the enjoyment of supporters) and so pundits who churn out this cliche should be challenged when they say it. Rangers disappeared from the the top league and almost every club could point to some achievement or highlight when they were away. Cups and high league finishes were spread around like never before and a celtic procession to winning the league each year doesn't feel much different to a Rangers-or-Celtic procession to the league every year when your club never has any prospect of being involved. The truth is that Rangers need a strong Rangers and with exception of their besties across the city, no-one else gives a f**k.
  16. A Rangers Man might well be the order of the day simply as they cant fund another big rebuild so soon and appeasing the peepul for a while might be a good idea... The bigger problem is the financial gap to Celtic is unbridgeable as things stand and so the poor sap that comes in will be set up for failure...
  17. The best thing about daft Pedro getting his jotters is that the endless OF news cycle has moved on as it must. All the pish written about us since the semi (which was of lower quality than usual due to sting of salt tears) will die away now unless Lennon fancies dredging it back up....
  18. The consequences were that everyone had a smashing time winning cups and getting into Europe....
  19. It was Moult that outclassed him to the point he kicked out in impotent rage (and was then thick enough to admit it in post match interviews)
  20. It's great to see that Jim Traynor's loooong descent from being a decent writer is continuing apace - that is literally indistinguishable from the output of the Vanguard Bears.
