  1. The gaps unlikely to open up that much - maybe over Hibs if they were to lose those games but if Raith or Falkirk match our results it would still only be a 4 point gap. If Dundee U beat Hibs and win their other 2 games, they would also only be 4 points behind. Falkirk play Dunfermline and saintees before facing Raith, so they arguably have an easier end of the quarter than us.

7 points from the next 9 is certainly achievable if we go about games in the right way but its a bit early to be talking about leads at the top.

Yeah im just enjoying being top just now, would be brilliant if we managed to stay up there but im looking at the likes of Raith, Falkirk etc hoping they drop points so that we can hopefully consolidate a play off place, even Dundee utd too, with their patchy start to the campaign. There is no easy games in this league, even if the next 3 do look good on paper.

  2. Versus Hibs? ...

                                Robinson

                  Higgins  Dowie Brownlie

    Hamill                                             Marshall

          Anderson  Jacobs   Millar    Dykes

                              Rigg

It Would give Higgins and Rigg a chance to play, keep things tight, and on the counter attack with pace plus opportunity to bring on Lyle and Dobbie for second half : )

    Dobbie on bench? Behave.
  3. Regardless of Hibs score this weekend: Very possible to win every game in October and be top for a while : )

On paper i agree, but theres no easy games in this league. Wouldnt surprise me if we beat sevco and hibs then lost to Dumbarton and Morton for example. The gaffer seems to take each game as they come though, whilst us punters dream. I like Skeltons approach, the players buy in to how he works, and its such a refreshing change to last season!

  4. I don't want to use the word novelty as it'll draw in Mr Dust.

But I imagine Hibs will certainly bring a good crowd this time. Hopefully the Terregles Street stand is required.

I think if we win next week and keep the momentum going , we can hit over 2000 home fans. I would expect Hibs to bring around 1500 with the start they have had. Hopefully it will be a good crowd, big game first next week though.
  5. Seriously though what a start by queens ...I would like to think we will both end up in the playoffs always great games...you seem to have pulled a masterstroke getting Dobbie back...has Carmichael signed for anyone yet?  Is he coming back?

Not signed for anyone as of yet. Hope so still early days but it really is the dream start to the season. Cup and league performances have been great to watch, and dobbie can just change games and inspire those round about him.

  6. I'm not so sure. Don't get me wrong, as a Cheesehead I'd like to see the Pack on Sky each week. However seeing that they are the Sunday night game on week 2 I'd be surprised if they are picked.

I'd like to see Browns @ Eagles but my money is on the Bengals @ Jets.

Eagles are on a good few times too. Would expect panthers to be on quite a bit this year.
  7. A few young players in the squad look there or there abouts in stepping up to the first team. I think the club has a good record of bringing on players.

I won't be upset if we don't bring anyone else in. We have a good squad with decent strength in depth.

I still think we need one or two, if injuries mount we arent covered enough cant rely on Moxon, Brotherston to make the difference from the bench every week, they need time even if brotherston has impressed. But Skelton is right no point signing for the sake of it, it needs to be an improvement on what we have eg the signing of Dobbie

  8. Progression on Tuesday night may allow the board to release some funds for an additional player knowing there is some unaccounted for income still to come. As they all say cup runs (or lack of them last season) aren't factored into expenses for a season when working out costs. I'm sure if we had not progressed out of the section then Dobbie would not have been signed. The extra income is welcome

I think the board would have signed dobbie regardless tbf. But now they can use the money to perhaps get in another player or two. Got to say though wouldnt mind brotherston getting in to the team. Boy looks decent.
  9. Money isn't actually an end in itself for football teams though.

It's a means of increasing the likelihood of some glory.  Some of that was more readily round the corner with a favourable draw.

We probably still have a slim chance in this tie, but other draws would have given us a much better one.  I'm a bit gutted about it.

We were all gutted with hibs away and it turned out not too bad.. heres hoping. No one will give us a chance so might be ideal.
