"The International Football Association Board, holding its 112th meeting in Paris, decided upon the following addition to Law XII :
A tackle from behind which endangers the safety of an opponent must be sanctioned as serious foul play" - FIFA.com
So you've just confirmed that your original statement which was "Law XII says that only a tackle from behind which endangers the player is a foul ", is complete nonsense.
Thanks for clarifying.

Fairly sure you've just made all of that up
Law 12 (excerpt)
Direct free kick
A direct free kick is awarded if a player commits any of the following offences against an opponent in a manner considered by the referee to be careless, reckless or using excessive force: • charges
• jumps at
• kicks or attempts to kick
• pushes
• strikes or attempts to strike (including head-butt)
• tackles or challenges
• trips or attempts to trip If an offence involves contact it is penalised by a direct free kick or penalty kick

No idea why there's any debate about the pens. Both stonewallers

Always overshadowed by the Coyne/Wright partnership. Probably the best I've ever seen in a Dundee shirt beside Caballero at using his body to shield and hold up the ball. Wasn't a big lump though, he could play a bit too. I think he'd have scored far more goals if he wasn't the third option in a two man forward line.IIRC he was a fairly consistent striker before we signed Coyne.
Harvey was never prolific, too slow, but I think he did play his best football for us during the Coyne/Wright era, when he got his chances.

Kenny Miller leaving has to be fantastic news for the budget/getting a couple of new players in I would think?!!

Agree. Utter nonsense. A player's career can be over with one mis-timed tackle. You have to take the cash when its offered.I really don't get this. He owes us nothing, if he come here and things didn't go for him, the club would be doing whatever they could to get him off the wage bill; think of the players we sacked when we went into administration. There's maybe a few players who have some sort of sentiment for various reasons but footballers are just doing a job like any other.0 -

Also, if 2 on the short list have no managerial experience, makes you wonder who were the rest of the '100' that applied!

Wonder why McCall isnt on that list. Maybe hasn't applied.

Correct.Sun reporting that Dundee were looking for him to be the 'first-ever' director of football at the club. I'm sure Simon Stainrod had that role, back when it was the polite way of sacking someone.0 -
Love Morten but IMHO we need someone with knowledge of the current Scottish game, the players we will be up against and who are the best Scottish players within our budget, that we can sign. Buying from overseas en masse rarely works. Or is that far too sensible?!

Cheers. Will have a lookThe Irish pub in the Europa centre may be your best bet.0 -
Been a few years since I've been to Berlin. Anyone any recommendations of pubs for watching Champions League footie? Anywhere between K'damm and Alexanderplatz should be easy enough for me to have a wander. Cheers

Also, Elton Ngwatala, Kamara and Kharl Madianga scan perfectly into the first two lines of Barry Manilow's Copacabana.
We've Ngwatala, and Kamara, we've even got Karl Madianga....etc
There's definitely a song there.

Promising signing. We do need another striker though. Just takes Kallman to get injured and we're back to where we were.

That would only be a relevant statement if Dundee were the best team in our league. The quality of players is relevant to the level of football.0 -

I must be an idiot. Think he does a valuable job for the team. Yes I would like him to score more goals. Look at Giroud for France, played every match , 15 attempts. 1 on target , no goals. But was critical to teams success.
Totally agree with the point you are trying to make, but Giroud is surrounded by fantastic players. Moussa isn't. Not sure we can afford that kind of player. Don't get me wrong, I think he gets some unfair stick.

Agree. He might be derry'd oot his nut but he's not good enough imho.We were awful today and Dunfermline deserved the win.
Probably an unpopular opinion but Cammy Kerr is just not up to this level of football, terrible today.0
