They may feel that way though.  The club have spent the previous two summers blowing smoke up the arse of the fans that do go in to the SRE.  Any disappointments of not being able to stand on the terrace for a year was rebranded as how great that "all" of our fans would be in together making noise in there blah blah.

It was party line at signing interviews at one stage for anyone that had played at Somerset before to mention something about that part of the ground.

Would be fair to say (or at least I think so) that some young people may not have realised this was just propaganda and thought it was organic conversation.

If I never hear the phrase "suck the ball into the net" again it will still be far too soon.

I still don’t mind the decision at all, but wouldn’t just dismiss what the young supporters think.

Attracting the young guys along is all about that sense of community and their spot in the ground is a big part of that. We obviously want to build on that, something we generally aren’t very good at, and this obviously doesn’t help.

Hopefully there can be some form of peace offering using some of the cash from the Celtic game - free entry for everyone up to the age of 18 for the opening league game for example. Get a good atmosphere about the place from the start and it can help to build things.

Get them involved in creating murals for the back wall of the Somerset Road End. That will make them feel a sense of ownership and clearly mark out the area as being Ayr territory if that's so important.

Neither did I. Not happy about it, however, I guess it is money at the end of the day.

The more I think into this, the more I get annoyed.

Worst thing that could happen now is a statement that Somerset Boab will be performing his new song in front of this crowd.

With their penchant for pyro, maybe one of the visiting fans will do us all a favour and nail him in the gob when he tries.

So it looks like Ayr fans have forced the club to allocate the SRE to Celtic by not buying enough tickets. Seems fair to me. I'm sure everyone at the club would have been delighted to have the North Stand, Main Stand and SRE full of Ayr fans given the choice, but when it's clear that won't happen they needed to make a smart business decision.
