I don't believe there was any conspiracy or subterfuge around Dipo not playing, but the idea that it would take a number of people to manufacture such a scenario is unnecessary. All it would take is the player to say 'my back still hurts too much to play'. He really doesn't seem the kind of guy to do that though, if it weren't true.

I think they'll prioritise retaining players who were involved in what the club feels was a successful season, so: Albinson McAllister - Musonda - McGinty - Reading Murdoch - Dempsey - Smith Mitchell Lawson - McKenzie - Ashford as the presumptive starting line-up.

It's got to be tough to recruit without knowing what the manager's vision for the team is. What type of players is Bullen asking for? What system are we signing guys to play in? Or is it a case of the head coach being given the players he's given and he's expected to make a team out of them?

Fair enough, but it makes no sense from his point of view to play this week.

Was quite clear during the game that Thistle had both a plan to emphasise what their players do well and manipulate our players into unfavourable situations. Ayr played like they had no idea who would be in the Thistle team, what their weaknesses were or how to exploit them.

You can see there's a footballer in Maguire somewhere, but there seems to be some kind of disconnect between the brain and the feet a lot of the time.

Seen Ayr play much worse than this plenty of times this season. Riding their luck a little. Hope for better in the second half.
