  1. Yep JRSLP

Bigger budget doesn't always mean more points but if it doesn't then questions need of be asked.

Seems to me that well managed clubs like Ross County, ICT and St Johnstone and maybe us can thrive on a combination of prudent financial management, forward thinking Board, good facilities and young talented managers.

I have been critical of the Board in the past but am encouraged by Hewitson's leadership and young Blount's support in past 2 seasons

  2. I know neither budget sizes of Morton or Dunfermline, fine line between both I'd imagine but I've never agreed with the biggest budget = where you finish within reason, debated it many times on here with our league last season points to my thots, where you will be lucky to find one team in the place of their budgets finishing per budget dictates.

3 times each teams budget is out of my reasoning.

Hmm not your clearest of posts Mr D.

I agree that size of budget does not necessarily govern league position.

But...if a team has a bigger budget (30%) e.g. Falkirk than another team e.g. QoS and they the bigger budget team finishes behind the lesser budget team then questions have to be asked about the management, coach, signing policies of that bigger budget team.

Apart from Falkirk's obvious management/signing issues.....................

I would estimate that our player budget is similar to Raith's and Morton but a bit less than Falkirks's, (130%) St Mirren (200%) and Hibs (300%) in that order.

  3. Stephen Dobbie signs a year deal at Neil Lennons Bolton. He has done well for himself since leaving Queens.

He has talent and quick feet but he has never been fully fit and fulfilled 100% potential.

He was fat and slow for much of his time with us and rightly dropped in Denmark for example by a manager who could see a waster.

One season he applies himself and gets a deal.

    Queens legend? f**k off!

  4. There is a formula for assessing compensation based on 4 categories of clubs together with the cost of development which can include training, physio, travel, accommodation costs but also the cost of salaries of the the coaches.

That is one reason why Dundee United were hit by £200k for Charlie Telfer cos of Murray Park extortionate coaching regime.
