Sportsound mentioned it briefly at half time in the Dundee Utd-Morton game yesterday, suggesting this was a formality for failing to pay tax and that it was anticipated that the tax bill will be covered by an upcoming regular payout from the spfl.

Doubt it's a formality when you spend a significant current income stream to pay historic significant debtor.  Spells big trouble.

Probably towards the end of the game for City.

When they don't care about fans that have built up the club over nearly 3 decades why should they care about anyone else?

Do what I did, vote with your feet and give your money to someone that will appreciate it.

I must admit up front I don't know anything about the internal club politics and ownership structure (apart from what is available from Companies House https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/SC266592/filing-history ) but I am surprised at the outcome.

Given what many of the City supporters observed and experienced when they were following Meadowbank Thistle, I am surprised that 1) a majority shareholder is in place 2) seemsis not aligned with what I presumed would have the DNA of the club and support that helped build the club to what it is/was a few years ago.

Could more defensive and protective actions been taken when the old guard support had a bigger say in how the company/club was structured (pre 2019/2018) and limit the influence/voting of a single shareholder?

Apologies if this has already been covered already, and would be happy to be directed to where this has been discussed.

  3. Morton game was definitely weird. I remember running on the pitch at the end to try to get the players shirts (they'd promised they'd give them to us but then had obviously been told not to give them to us by Hunter. Only Stuart Wilson did, with Hunter then sending Renton off to the supporters to try to get the shirt back!). The Morton fans thought we were trying to ruin their promotion celebrations so a fair number started booing us. A shambolic and very depressing end but somehow very fitting after the last couple of years.

Anyway, the away games in the last season or so were generally fairly entertaining. Shire away in midweek was great fun as were QoS, Clyde, Stenny and a fair few others. Lots of good memories despite the spitefulness of Hunter.

Diagree with you about Morton fans. They didnt boo but didl sing 'Meadowbank' at the end.

However, I have vague recollections of someone showing me a letter published in an early ****ton programme from Arthur Montford praising the Meadowbank Thistle fans for applauding Rowan Alexander and the Morton team on their lap of honour at the end after receiving the 2nd Division trophy. No mention of stramashes or sight of sports jackets best seen in black and white.

  4. Totally agree with this - I was at Greenock too and the bus was virtually full....

Ehhh.. That was the Supporters' Club coach you were on that day. Brake Club had given up running regular away coaches a couple of years before then and only the Supporters' Club took a bus that day.
  5. Is this a normal clause in a contract anyway? Would noone at newco have been hearing alarm bells at green wanting cover legal costs? Maybe it's a common practice for directors I dunno.....but my first instinct if I was employing someone n they wanted legal cover would be to ask what they had been upto?? All very odd....

Too right. Agree with "all very odd" if no assumptions or constraints stated and agreed in employment or settlement agreement.

Brown: If the charge against Green is proved "the business and assets [of Rangers] would be the proceeds of crime,"

James Doleman ‏@jamesdoleman 2m2 minutes ago

Brown if Green was found guilty "The company would have big problems" argues sound commercial reasons for granting legal idemnity.

But this is not deciding outcome of criminal case, let alone the consequences.

Only if legal fees incurred by Green need to be paid by club/company.

Don't get carried away too soon.

  7. That's the Glasgow's Justice of the Peace added to the list 'enemies of Rangers'.

Warrant for arrest of ex-Rangers captain Lee McCulloch

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of former Rangers captain Lee McCulloch after he failed to appear in court to face a charge of speeding.

The 37-year-old was expected to appear at Glasgow's Justice of the Peace Court on Monday.

The warrant was granted by Justice of the Peace Alistair McLean after the player did not appear.

Mr McCulloch is alleged to have driven at 81mph in a 60mph zone on the M8 motorway on 8 July last year.

Though its probably OK because he isn't a Rangers player anymore, but he was when he failed to show.

It's alleged he over-invested on the accelerator peddle while under-investing on the brakes.

  8. Why no just fine Rankine like the SFA did with Ashley?

They were different offences therefore it seems logical that they have different outcomes and sanctions.

If I recollect correctly, the club submitted forms that were inaccurate that did not declare the potential dual interest.

If Rankine was fined and not required to dispose of his shares then he would have still held a potential influence in more than one club would he not?

  9. Anyone who posts on this thread that isn't a Livingston fan is a complete VL. Cannot wait for the seethe on Saturday afternoon when the great escape is pulled off.

If you manage the great escape - well done!

However this thread originated from the last administration event and wasn't started by a Livingston fan. So its a bit unfair to take umbridge at non-Livi fans posting.

Sky Sources: Rangers will not use Ibrox as security against any further loans from Mike Ashley. Reaction on #SSNHQ

    So...

    1. Whose loan will Ibrox be used as security for?

    2. Will Ibrox be sold instead to Mike Ashley?

    3. Has Ibrox already been secured against a loan?

    4. Is there something else stopping Ibrox being used as security?

  11. Sadly, Brewing, having a fan on the Board is only half the truth.

    There were two.

One fan on board who many fans saw as their darling.

And a second who also worked for HMRC apparently and could have provided some simple advice, you would expect, on how to pay PAYE and NI obligations.

Edited to remove reference to advice on VAT obligations.

  12. Thanks for that link. A bit of an eye opener regardless of whether it is fully accurate or not.

There is an intriguing line in the statement about Directors being made aware of some unusual activity in 2012 and not responding to it. Presuming the current Board approved the statement, then are they trying to point the finger at ex-Board members? If so, apart from Mr Nixon, does that leave only the Fans Rep on the Board as being blamed by them?

If I recollect correctly, was there not a board member who was employed by HMRC? If true, then it would be a bit embarrasing (at best) if it was proven that payments/bonuses were made without income tax and/or National Insurance not being deducted!

Lastly, wasn't there a strange setup of the debit/credit card machine in the Club shop at one point - with the receipts indicating the payment had been made to a firm of decorators. ... I may be wrong and I apologise if I am.

  13. http://news.stv.tv/scotland/270490-livingston-football-club-to-move-towards-community-ownership/

I seem to remember this being spoken about a few months ago. Who are the other community owned clubs? Stirling Albion rings a bell but I'm not sure.

Interesting. So what is really going to change? There has been 20 years of 'working' or being subsidised by the local council and Livingston Develop Corporation.

Surely it's not a diversionary tactic away from the current round of financial mess - 4th or 5th flirtation with doom since 1995?

Why not just make the long established junior club the CIC? Surely Livingston United are more aligned to that ethos then the shambles up the road?
