I assume there's zero scope for expanding Tynecastle?

I think we'd need £20-30 million to add 5000 seats onto the wheatfield stand due to land ownership and ethanol tanks at the distillery. The club should be investigating it now but it'll not happen in the next 10-15 years I suspect regardless of what we do. Can't see how we'd expand beyond that.

I'd agree with that, the last couple of seasons have seen all three sides below average.

Although Hearts raced away with 3rd last year, I thought it was more a sign of the abject challenge from both Hibs and Aberdeen that provided that opportunity for Hearts to reach Europe at a canter.

This season, a run of seven or eight wins was enough for the Dons to reach third.

It'll be interesting to see how we handle the domestic and European fronts next season if Celtic do indeed win the Cup.

We didn't have much backing up a core of 11 or 12 players this season.

I think Hearts had quite a big squad this season but still found the balancing act difficult.

I wonder if this will start a curse of no club being able to finish 3rd in consecutive seasons?

Below average is a bit harsh imo. With everyone fit we're a good side but you have to expect injuries and compensate with signings. Hibs have missed key players too this year. When considering the squads as a whole they're all about average I think, probably shouldn't be competing for third under normal circumstances.

Boyce and Halkett got done in European games, I'm not sure what impact it has so long as you're spending the £3m Euro profit on players to compensate. We only spent a third of it apparently.

Its interesting that I've seen each of Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibs play good stuff and terrible stuff and that away form has been poor for each side. Is this a consequence of playing more possession based football out from the back? Who knows but confidence and team work has been an issue for all three sides.

Anyway I would be miserable this summer and desperate for club football to resume to make up for it but I've remembered the Scotland double header this June and we're DEFINITELY qualifying so I'll be too busy soaking that up to care about hearts for a while.

    We’re past that now.

The hearts fans can correct me but I think now we should be plotting the downfall of the old firm and stating that we welcome a challenge from the likes of hearts and hibs, lest it get boring.

Bingo. It doesn't matter if it's virtually impossible, it'll cause cranial detachment as other fans are aghast at your arrogance.

    Some laugh these Hertz boiz.

If you're not on this site to rip the pish out of other fans when you're on top then you're as dull and grey as Aberdeen granite. Creating the jeopardy of calling it early is part of the fun. It's been dull for weeks with the Dandies going oh erm um, not sure if we'll do it ken when it was clear after Rangers they would.

    Momentum is on our side.

That's it my man. Bookmarked for when we murder you this weekend shree zip.

  5. I've got a feeling that it'll all be done this evening with Aberdeen winning and us losing or drawing.

I was up for giving Neilson time until we lost to St. Mirren but in retrospect he should have gone a couple of weeks earlier.

there's still the chance through Euro qualifiers of course but it requires a lucky draw and us at the top of our game with a good pre season behind us.

What age is the child? Could give it a go, the above would definitely be do-able for a relatively new born up to about maybe 6 months as they'd just sleep, feed and poop, which on the go should be easy. We walked into a nearby town one day with a few of us and child, she slept in the buggy for about 2hrs which meant a few chilled drinks and tapas. Then she woke and wanted entertained which meant I was kicking a ball about outside a wee bar in an old side street, which was kinda cool as f**k, but hours on end of "watch the lady/person/man" "don't do that" "get out of the way" "please don't kick the ball away" in the heat takes it's toll on you later on.

He's two and a half so he's at the stage where he can understand basic instructions but is usually inclined not to follow them. He does nap during the day for an hour at least. I just think carrying him on public transport and along busy roads sounds like a pain in the arse. Eating out can be hit or miss I'm terms of enjoyment, I usually shovel my food down Quickly while trying in vain to keep him occupied.

Currently doing the passport thing as well for our two month old, getting a picture is always quite funny, took us ages trying to get an acceptable one for when the older one was almost 2, just wouldn't stand still and kept on laughing at us, which was funny, but time consuming having to check on the website after every few pics.

Also, going on holiday abroad with even one kid is not a holiday, airports with young kids in particular is a fucking stressful experience. Said to the missus I can't be arsed going on holiday again until they're older. We're going away again this year, to a no doubt hell-hole children friendly hotel, it would be an understatement to say I'm utterly dreading it. Funny how that happened.

That's my thinking too, I'll be dreading it. Mrs wants to go back to Portugal because we used to go there twice a year. But that was when it was just us and we could get pissed up and have a big lunch in the sun and walk for miles exploring places.

I suggested we book a hotel on Lindesfarne Island outside Berwick upon tweed. Let's just find somewhere safe with no traffic and lots of beaches for the boy to play on but I don't think 10 miles over the Scottish border was exotic enough.

Despite not having your unique experience of being a football fan who works with colleagues of rival teams, I’m still not buying it.

If it a Celtic fan going into work tomorrow then the response to any shit is fairly easy.

maybe the difference is you’ve never lost to hibs in the context that of having comfortably won the league already and knocked them out of both cups?

If the beat you the week after the 5-1 Scottish cup final would you have cared? (Yes I know season was over, indulge the hypothetical).

I didn't mean for you to get too focused on the work thing, that's just one example of where you might encounter other football supporters day to day.

In your hypothetical question, yes I'd have still cared. Obviously less so but still it always stings to lose to Hibs.

  9. 1 minute ago, Dons_1988 said:

I’m not sure I buy that. There isn’t any reason for them to care in the context of being on the verge of another treble.

They’ve played 6 times all season and Celtic have come out on top in the 5 that mattered (including the draw as that basically killed rangers “hopes”).

You come from a one team city (sorry Cove) so perhaps that's why you disagree with me. You always care when you turn up to work on Monday and take shit off the other side. They'll care less than any of the other 5 games of course but it's still important.

  10. 6 minutes ago, Jinky67 said:

No you don’t know and that isn’t the reason why I support my team. As someone else pointed out you seem to want to tell us what we should be thinking and feeling, it’s all but third reichy for my liking but you keep doing you mate

Again you've missed the point. If you really cared about the extreme financial disparity then you'd give up supporting Celtic. You've stated you don't care so you carry on supporting them. Straightforward stuff.

Comparing me to a Nazi because I think you're bothered about a game of football is sure fire proof that you're not having a heids gone moment.

    My work here is done.

since you’re telling me how I feel, here - can you tell me why I’m supposed to feel raging?

You don't have to be raging, I just don't believe you when you say you're not bothered.

Name one thing from a Celtic point of view that was important about that game yesterday.

It was against your city rivals. That would be important to any real football supporter no matter the wider context. It's ok to admit that.

Too soon to say I don’t really care about your workings out? 🥸

I know that. That's why you support a team who are astronomically larger than every other club in the country with the exception of Rangers.

  12. 30 minutes ago, Jinky67 said:

So you mean like everyone of our match threads this season where fans of who we play incessantly tell us the games, the league, the results are meaningless?

Are you telling me they are all full of shit and they actually care a lot?

I mean it can’t just work one way

What in God's name are you droning on about? I haven't expressed an opinion on that one way or the other.

I'll do the working out for you based upon what others are presumably saying.

Beating clubs with a fraction of your budget is hollow (Hibs, Hearts and Aberdeen pay their players more than 6 times less than you and that's before we factor in transfer fees). Getting beaten by your rival who has comparable spending power means something, even when there's nothing to play for.

oh wow that was surprisingly simple to demonstrate that it can work both ways. You're welcome.

A fan posting on a forum topic about a match his team just played in? Reprehensible behaviour

Posting isn't the issue. It's the posting incessantly about how unbothered you are that's funny. That's easy enough to grasp I would have thought...

No. No. No. we’re all fucking fizzing.

Is it 11 titles out of the last 12 we have won? The **** will never, ever learn.

You're still on here more than 24hrs later pressing this point and I'll be honest you're finally starting to convince me that you're not bothered so well done.

You could coach them on Administration while you're at it...

Step one for us was raid the poppy fund. That was morally acceptable given our sacrifice in WW1.

Step two was steal from Bosnian pensioners and Lithuanian Government. Slightly dubious I agree but they probably enjoyed the 2006' and 2012' cup wins.

St. Mirren will probably have to rely on bake sales. It's worked for Dundee a few times so you never know.

It is easy to do online. You have to send documents in the post, but the online application is straightforward, and makes the countersign bit easy as it’s just a case of the person getting sent an email with a link to complete.

We applied for our youngest’s first passport a couple of months ago, came back in about 3 weeks.

Great thanks. Good to know it won't take forever too, my wife is desperate to go somewhere abroad. We were last away January 2020 and she's 40 this year.
