Well it looks like we'll be waving a big double-winning cheerio to the Tory-voting fermers of Perth.
Craig Levein, eh ? The best possible appointment for Ross County.

Well not everything has gone perfectly since Ian McCall took charge, but his appointment as manager has transformed Clyde's season. He deserves enormous credit for achieving safety for the Bully Wee from a seemingly hopeless situation.
Great news for our favourite 'sleeping giant' but surely next season's ambition should be about a promotion challenge rather than fighting for league status !!

1-2 scoreline and a 5 point lead for the buds by Saturday evening.

You are correct and Killie have been the most favoured.
I propose a point for each incorrect decision - +1 for the 4 against us and -1 for the 5 ones that favoured Killie...
Now we are back in 4th.
Joking aside, the point of VAR was to prevent most bad decisions that cost teams points.
The system needs fixed.
The system is absolutely fine.
It's the incompetents controlling it that's the problem.

Ridiculous I know, but it's almost as if the referees and the VAR chappies are incompetents.
Just my opinion though.

Are Brokelads offering odds yet on the match being postponed due to issues with the playing surface ?

Maybe a year from now we can re-title this thread as the Double Relegated St Johnstone Thread ?

Rangers now scouting Ethan Sutherland. Hope we can get decent money for him.
Good news if true.
I love the smell of a bidding war in the morning.

Since we came back up we've never been in a relegation fight. We are fuelled mainly just by annoying other people
Not in a relegation fight this season either I suppose

The Perth branch of Acme Knicker-Drying Services Ltd are going to be busy this afternoon.

I guarantee that ticket stubs from St Johnstone's two cup final victories will sell for a fortune on Ebay in the future.

Of course, this is now the second occasion this season that Aberdeen have screamed "foul" at dreadful VAR decisions. They were livid when the VAR team failed to highlight their double-hit penalty in Paisley.
VAR is shite and Aberdeen are hypocrites.

Yes, the Lennox is still there but it's now a downstairs bar only of the busy howff type. The wee lounge upstairs was run by a very pleasant woman called Ruth back in the day.
I take it you were a teammate of Ian McGregor, Dougie Lockhart, Malky King, 'Joe' Benton and Alistair Kerr, to name a few ?
Those names aren't familiar, but I only played there for a year or so around 1984 or 1985. I got a serious shoulder injury and had to quit.
At my age remembering names from away back is problematic ! Todd Smith (?) was one I think, and I remember 'Guddy' who mainly captained the B team.

Is the Lennox pub still in existence ? We used to drink in there (upstairs I think) after rugby training about 40 years ago. That was with Dumbarton Rugby Club before the merger that formed Vale of Leven Rugby Club. Kinda showing my age a bit ......

If Gogic leaves, where do people think he'll go? Only realistic options I can see in Scotland are Killie, Motherwell and Dundee. Guess if one of them is in Europe that convince him.
Dundee ? Based on their recently published accounts and financial projections, it looks like Dundee have been overspending by an average of almost £60k a week for the last two years. Surely they should be tightening up on the big wages for a while ?

I'm hoping that Fraser Taylor comes back and has matured enough to compete for a first XI place.
He scored for Ballymena at the weekend, in a rare victory for them this season. Their league operates a split similar to our Premiership, even after their win at the weekend they are still sitting second bottom. I don't know what the relegation criteria is in their leagues.

Looking ahead, we are likely to begin next season minus Strain, Baccus and Gogic. Thanks to these guys for their contributions in the past couple of seasons ! Each of these will be a huge loss. If they had stayed fit throughout this season, all of these would have been certain starters in every game and we can see by our mid-to-late season results (particularly when Strain and Baccus have been unavailable) that they have been sorely missed. Add to that, there will be a few others who won't be part of our first team squad for much longer (Ryan Flynn for one sadly).
Now that our top tier status has been guaranteed for 2024-25 with 6 games to spare, let's hope that our management team have already spotted like-for-like replacements.
Many of Robinson's previous signings have blindsided most of us, having been picked up from across the Irish Sea or down south.
Just wondering if anyone has any insights into names they would like to throw into the hat ?

Disappointed with the result naturally but I thought both teams tried hard to play a passing game in a swirling wind.
Fortunately for us, good old reliable Hibs "Hibsed it" and Dundee, erm .., well, erm ... "Hibsed it" as well.

I am certain that Celtic fans won't complain about this referee appointment since they don't do paranoia at Parkhead.

Ok. So the alternative - a 44 game season - isn't something that most clubs / fans want ?
No it isn't.
Playing the same 11 opponents 4 times in a league season can become tedious.

So, is it glass half-full or glass half-empty now that the dust has settled ?

If Robinson is tying players down on 3 year deals, surely that is a sign that he sees himself staying at St Mirren for a while ?? Also good news possibly.
