  1. Knew I had read "kick and rush" description somewhere and you are right, it was from Denis Lawson but I read it in the Falkirk Herald. To be honest do not remember much about the first half, largely non descript but remeber thinking at half time that there was not much between the sides and at that point would have taken a draw . Second half saw Caley dominate and win quite easily, the Warriors seemed to throw in the towel after going 2-1 down, symptomatic of the poor side they were at the time. Had watched them against Berwick in the league a few weeks previously at Ochilview and felt then Caley where in with more than a shout. It was your biggest he for a number of seasons at 1500!

If memory serves, the Larbert turf accountants took a bit of a shoeing that day also!!

  2. BDO darts is of a shocking standard considering there are televised events. It's not uncommon to see players win games with an 80 or less average. Amateur darts compared to the PDC.

I am not disputing that the average standard of the BDO compared to the PDC is less, but to call it "pub darts" is just stupid, if it is so shit why are you even interested about when it is on?

BTW don't forget where the vast majority of the PDC players came from, they didn't just turn into great players as soon as they switched to the PDC.

  3. Pub darts from the BDO returns on ESPN on Friday with the Masters. Will anyone be watching?

Pretty impressive pub teams you know then mate, if that's how they play.dry.gif

There are no pub players i know who could turn that standard in on a regular basis.

  4. See if Hankey was in the PDC, I think the crowd would grow to like him with his gimmick and that.

Wolfie is a p***k, but hes not stupid, he realises the 100 grand he picks up at Lakeside every year and whatever else he earns playing the BDO tour is a lot more than he'd ever earn playing the PDC circuit in an average year.

His shite about equalling Bristow is a joke, I really hope Lewis destroys him and the crowd give him dogs abuse.

Hankey would be a dream ticket for the PDC, he is the type of character they would thrive on. He constantly looks as if he is ready to explode with the crowd, which in turn makes them try to wind him up more.

Depending on what becomes of this regime change in the BDO it would be good to see Hankey switching, but i can't see it happening any time soon.

I hope Adams being on the board now is not going to throw a spanner in the works of any progress because he seems to be as stuck in the past as Croft was with a major dislike of all things PDC.

  5. Seems that Olly Croft has officially been voted off the BDO board with the new incumbent including Martin Adams.

With Croft finally out of the way it might give the BDO a chance to embrace change for the better of the organisation.

So this is who has taken over from Croft?

Hopefully this will open things up within the BDO and they can drag themselves into the 21st century, it would be good if we had a decent second force in darts, continuing the county & youth scene's and hopefully getting more TV interest for the BDO.

The next couple of years should be interesting.

  6. Hope hankey ignores the idiots in the crowd and turns up again. He was class last year.Beat taylor, funny how no one on sky mentions that when they are going on about his losing streak.

That's a fair shout, i had forgotton all about that, and i don't even work for SKY!:P

  7. There is loyalty & then there is blind loyalty, neither he nor the BDO are gaining anything from him not attending, quite the opposite really.

If Adams was to win the Grand Slam, (he is the world champ after all), then that would be major kudos for the BDO, as he has stated he has no intention of leaving them they don't need to worry about him making a switch.

Is it more the fact that he doesn't think he has the game to win it? surely not.

The man has huge talent and could have been very comfortable by now if he had switched a few years back.

Is he maybe maneouvering himself into position to take over from Croft when he finally pegs it? I cant fathom out any other reason for denying himself and his family the best possible opportunity to earn top dollar from his undoubted skill.

I was reading a report from the first year of the grand slam in 2007 and apparently in the build up to that he was initially all for playing in it here is the quote.....

Adams told BBC Sport: "My loyalty is to the BDO, but as long as it is happy I don't see why I couldn't take part. "If I did, if shouldn't be construed by anyone as me joining the PDC because that is something I would never do."

Sounds to me that Olly squeezed his balls a bit and suddenly it was a shit idea to attend!!:P

  8. The PDC stopped inviting him two years ago, so he hasn't had the chance to decline.

Fair enough, i don't blame them not giving him the opportunity to turn it down due to his undying love for the BDO, (what a guy!)

The original point still stands though, he is a fucking bellend (IMO)

  9. Invitations for the 2011 Grand Slam of Darts have been announced.

"This year's qualifiers will include the finalists from the PDC World Cup of Darts, which was held for the first time last December and saw Holland defeat Wales in the decider, as well as the previous five Ladbrokes.com World Darts Champions and Lakeside Champions."

Saw that allows John Part and Ted Hankey into the field.

  10. Bored so i was looking throught he DRA site to see what the pro's have been up to, mostly quite boring but this one made me chuckle!

    DRA website

"Robert Thornton at the Players Championship, Gibraltar on 7th February 2010 outside the sports centre venue was in possession of a bottle with an optic attached. This behaviour occurred in front of two representatives of tournament sponsors and therefore could be considered to be behaviour likely to bring the game of darts into disrepute".

Mr Thornton was issued with a formal warning.

  11. The boy Kim Huybrechts was superb, hes easily a top 16 talent.

I would need to see him do it a bit more regularly to give him that kind of billing, a bit like Antonio Alcinas last year when he seemed to be the next big thing from the continent because of a good performance in the World cup team event, done very little since.

Don't get me wrong, it would be great to see some more international faces on a regular basis in the PDC, what about the German guy who was in the worlds a couple of years back and another couple of TV events, looked a decent player, can't remember the name.

  12. Not taking the piss here I was out yesterday and met some who is good pals with Anderson was speaking to him for a while and he said Anderson didn't even want to go their but had to as he's contracted to the pdc! Make of it what you will!

I make of it that he needs to give himself a fucking good shake and realise what a talent he has, he won't be handed anything and everyone on the tour is capable of turning him over if he plays half arsed like he seems to be doing at the moment.

He has the ability to get to the top of the rankings if he gets his head sorted, he needs to take a leaf out of the book of Taylor, Nicholson, Lewis etc.

  13. That was a great final, both guys played superb darts but Taylor is just phemon, phinom, shit hot!!

It looks like he is far from done, and people like Anderson & co need to up their games big time to make inroads to his superiority on the game.

What is the score with Anderson recently? Does he just expect the results to materialise without trying?

  14. Paul Nicholson is really confident in front of the cameras, talking really well and making a lot of sense there.

Must admit i missed most of this tournament up till the last semi so i'm not too sure how everyone is throwing this week, just saw the slo-mo 9 darter from Lewis, he looked as if it was a down the pub job in the reaction afterwards.

Time for the champions choice board to be introduced for these guys in the TV tournaments, the 9 darters are just so last season now!:P

  15. I thought that winning his first major would have cured the doubling problems but obviously not.

Even giving himself more throws at the double than most due to the power throwing on the 60's doesn't seem to help

I dont know how he is going to bring his finishing game up to the level of his scoring?
