  1. Not one for posting But today was an eye-opener. I’ve only been to a handful of games this season and the sole reason for heading to Peterhead was getting it off the list (40/42 done if anyone was interested, all first visits being Falkirk-related)

I thought Cove a couple weeks ago was a bleak affair but today was so much worse. Not a single player for Falkirk deserves to be anywhere close to full-time football, and I hope a few of them have a decent CV outside of football to fall back on in the summer - they’ll need it.

To me, League 1 is about having guys who will run about in a basic formation and get stuck in. It also helps when they work for each other too. Granted the guy was smashed but whoever was shouting about “challenging” decisions and standing up for each other had a point; although probably didn’t realise it! If the team actually gave a f**k about the team and each other they’d have been losing their minds at the ref about the last-man Griffiths challenge. Hardly a protest.

Rennie is not going to be the answer moving forward. We need someone who has a standing in the game (Tommy Wright) or someone who knows League 1 (Ian Murray but that’s incredibly wishful thinking). We can’t arse about with another “tactical” coach thinking this is all playing out on their Laptop rather than the real world.

Fair play to the Falkirk fans there today. I won’t be back until Kelty away…or if we get Elgin in the cup

  2. HT 3-1

1st goal - Petravicius with a few step-overs and slotted from about 6 yards out..pretty mince defending in truth

2nd goal - O’hara broke free, cut in from the left and curled into the top corner from close in

3rd goal - sublime cross from TOE’s big toe on the left and Dallison smashed a headed in. Hope we see that a few more times this season!

Overall a decent watch, look solid down the right while Dennon looks like he needs a few matches to get up to speed.

Really not impressed by the trialist however. You’d think someone fighting for a contract would burst a gut but he’s just not getting involved nearly enough. Opinions of course.

  3. Biggest letdown for me was Dani Marceta who we got on loan (?) from Partizan Belgrade before the Vaduz game. The best player ever seen in training, apparently.

    Had a look for old stories on him;
“Danijel is an international player at under-21 level with Slovenia and will progress to their senior team, there is no doubt about that”

3rd tier of Slovenian football if anyone was interested...

  4. Just in from the dev game; rightfully beaten 2-0 and Dunne with a straight red.

Thought we were bullied all over the park with St. Johnstone looking far stronger while we didn't get going at all.

For Loy in particular, the guy put in a fair shift and showed a couple of good touches; and it was just a few touches. I felt he didn't get the right support and there was a huge gap between him and anyone else to link play.

But it is the U20's and it's hard to be critical. They've had some decent results at the beginning of the season but it's fallen away..still more entertaining than the first team mind

  5. With Hippolyte I always get the impression he looks dejected after 15min because he's the only one there trying to create and when nothing comes off for him the entire team is f**ked.

If there had been someone on the other side or someone up front to actually finish it'd take the pressure of him. I think we'd see Hippolyte perform a little better/less focus on his bad days if our summer recruitment had been better (i.e. not Harris!)

  6. As everyone has pretty much said tonight is going to be interesting. I'm going to guess this'll follow the same pattern as last years with a 'presentation' from Houston and a board member doing their bit to guilt trip those in attendance

What I want to know from the BoD in particular is what position we took on this Project Brave and how much it's costing us. I have a hunch (based on nothing) that's where a fair chunk of cash has been earmarked too

  7. That's a feckin stupid time to host a game on a Saturday. Perhaps something to do with the tatty munchers playing at 5?

It's a terrible time and throws my plans out the window entirely, can't go now which is a pain.

My the only possible reason I can think of for this is if people are flying into Dublin/Belfast on Saturday morning this gives them a little more time to get there. Does mean your effectively stuck out in the middle of nowhere for a night however, no night out in either city

  8. I think the club could be in danger of losing the fee and the player if they are not careful.

I can see exactly this happening.

I mean I have absolutely no idea how the murky world of contracts and agents works but something along the lines of an 'amateur' contract could be a thing...maybe...

It's these kinds of situations where agents make their money
  9. I'm still fucking seething at that last sub today.

I was exactly the same, and tbh really hacked off with all 3. It was blatant we had completely lost the center of midfield yet Taiwo, who'd have at least put a challenge in, is nowhere to be seen.

The sub of Harris for Shepps put the tin lid on it for me. We needed grit so we bring on a forward to play RM [emoji29]

  10. Those few years from about 2006-2009 were my absolute favourite time following Falkirk. Used to go to away games all over the country expecting to beat SPL opposition. Had some great players with a swagger about them. The faceless goons who followed those years made it seem even better with hindsight.

Couldn't agree more! My first game was at the start of the 02/03 season and just thought that's how life was with Falkirk winning games more often than not...safe to say that honeymoon period came to a shuddering stop
  11. Evening all!

After reading through your nostalgic moments on here I was chatting to my dad who said he had a bunch of old video recording of games stretching from early 90s to early 00s.

So after much swearing and toying about I finally got one to work so enjoy and hopefully there will be a few more [emoji1303]
