There’s your man Hale posting on his Instagram story from the departure lounge prior to his flight to Inverness. Unless The Mouthbreathers have had permission granted for the Oxygen Farm or whatever, I think we can safely say he’ll be joining us soon.

Hopefully he joins in time to feature tomorrow night - which I believe will be a full strength County side.

    Either us or Ajax.

    The number of players quoted by Ferguson was never realistic. Our squad at the moment;

    GK - Laidlaw / Hamilton / Ross

    DEF - Harmon / Reid / Brown / Efete / Leak / Baldwin / Nightingale / Lamie / Smith / Wright / Ewan

    MID - Randal / Loturi / Allardice / Sheaf / Telfer / Macleod / Robesten

ATT - Murray (will be gone) / Samuel / White / Brophy.

    Seriously lacking attacking/creative players...

Put that way, unbelievably, but County are still lacking a central midfielder.   As they have done for 10 years.  The lack of creativity is… a concern.

  3. Went to see Skipinnish at the Bught Park last night.  Not really my thing, but it was six quid for a can of T so I had to stay sober.

I hope that was meant as a joke as WC94 was one of the best ever. The only turgid game I remember was the final.  The group stages had plenty of good games and the Romanians and Bulgarians both had teams full of talent which added something extra to the usual contenders.

World Cup 90 on the other hand was dreadful, and this Euros is quite reminiscent of it in terms of cagey games lacking goals (although Austria - Turkey and Germany - Spain livened things up).

I seem to remember Argentina vs Romania being one of the best games I’ve ever seen.  94 was great.

    2010 was just interminably slow.

The u-20 world trophy seems like a bit of a joke. Half these teams needing cut and make it into a straight knockout for the competition

Until we lose by 60 points to Spain.

Not going to lie, will be pretty gutted to lose Murray. Probably one of/if not my favourite County player of the “modern” era…

On the other hand, getting £££ for a 32 year old going in to his last 12 months is brilliant. Needless to say if he does leave I hope he flops.

He completely changed my mind last season.  Didn’t see him scoring that many after not really making much of an impact last season.  Wish him well, and we all know why he left.

Again, I think the club are completely in the right here. Cashing in on a 32 year old striker, with one year left on his deal. It would be asking a lot for him to reproduce his form of the last 18 months, too.

I’m excited by the Hale rumour, which seems to be close to over the line. A very similar style to Murray and at a prime age.

Looks a lot more like Brophy to me.

Either way, I hope the fee they’ve got for Murray covers all or most of whatever we have paid for Hale.

Edit: still short of a 10, another central midfielder and at least one wide player.

Nothing has been said if he is staying or going, I’d rather he stayed as he’s a useful squad player. He had a better time of it this year than last year but was still very much in and out of the team, he definitely has his uses though

Like Murray, he’s not been at training for the last two weeks so I assume he’s away.

Fair play to him, it seemed like the East Kilbride trajectory was a real possibility for him when he left Falkirk and it’s strange to think back to him not even being part of our best 11 in the promotion winning season. Outstanding last season and merits a move upwards. It’ll be interesting to see whether last season was a fluke or if he’s able to repeat those standards, which he’s never really done throughout his career.

That’s exactly how County see it.  We had Kyle Turner who just completely buckled at the higher level and we had to pay a significant amount to release him.  Telfer, judging by his interview, seems an altogether more sensible character.  If he’s not getting a game by Christmas, we can “mutually” him.  If he’s starting every week we can extend him.

I hate our moves so far, but there’s really nothing to lose for either party here.

Wild to think your squad is still better than ours.

Charlie Telfer seems like a lovely guy.  I think he’s actually a shrewd move, if he’s regarded as a more effective version of Callachan.   If he’s expected to be Dhanda it’s a woeful state of affairs.

Can’t be half as bad as Turner though.

Very good player Charlie,   works tirelessly for 90 minutes and never hides,  a Team player,  probably lacks pace for the top league though....

We need a bit better than that.  As a bench player, fine, but if he’s starting out first game of the season we’re in all sorts of bother.

Yup,Scotland has just slunk back into it's shell awaiting another booting.

It was certainly a Scotland quality show of defending by the SNP.  But it’s hard to say it wasn’t deserved.

  13. *Wakes up and checks news.*

Tories wiped off the face off the planet.  Good.

SNP Yer-da cybernats crying into their cornflakes.   Good.

Douglas Ross and Rees-Mogg gone.  Effing Brilliant.

    Red tories everywhere delighted.  Terrible.

Farage and his pals.  Concerning but hopefully a protest vote.

    Anything else?
