The Smith interview spelled out a couple of things : 1. The Business Community is buying in , they are booking hospitality and buying advertising ! This was always going to be an area where we punch our weight . 2. There are other investments possible from other sources . 3. He is happy with the football side of things . Brown and Whitaker are doing well . 4. We’ve spent the Rangers money and then some . 5. The kicker , it’s time for fans to come along . Put up or shut up time . What kind of club Ayr United is to become in the medium to long term will be determined by the fans or lack of them .
Getting the gates north of 3,000 will take time . However with the AU500 club still needing 230 new members to hit the 500 mark , it’s a great way for those that can to contribute to the player fund in real time . ATM 270 members are bringing in £50k a year , that a decent player at our level . Surely there is 270 punters in the current season ticket holder community that can spare £20 a month to get it moving .

I'm restarting mine in the near future as my new job will vastly improve my financial situation.

With no early bird discount, if someone hasn’t bought a season ticket after this Saturdays game, they’d be as well parking the whole conversation until half seasons are on sale because it would be virtually the same price for a walk up ticket every week.

Yeah this, my financial situation is about to nicely improve so I'll be re-starting up my player fund.  But a season ticket just isn't a consideration for me.

I actually don't think the interview was really because numbers are low, it was an opportunity to bring it up while explaining we are exploring outside investment.

1270 season tickets isn't that bad considering where the club has finished most of the last few seasons. Smith sounded pretty desperate there, which is worrying. Did he honestly expect season tickets to treble because he put in some padded seats?

Don't really get their point on this.  We had 2857 there on Friday with roughly 400 away fans.  Meaning we had nearly as many walk up fans as we did season tickets.  That's not going to fall away if they keep going well.

The compensation we’d want for Brown (and Whittaker) would be significant 6 figures - I know Raith have a bit of money these days, but doubt they have that much, particularly as Murray will also be due a 6 figure compensation payout as well.

Depends what is in their contracts obviously but yeah.

Raith would also need to cover Brown's 20 grand a week salary.

I don't know what Calum McGregor's win percentage is for Celtic, but it's probably something daft like 4/5 games. At some point you must get bored of that?

It would be really funny if there were folk talking about Carvajal or Müller or that like this (and yes they are obviously far superior players).

Should've tried losing for football matches lads!

    Like a Scott Brown cosplay.

Celtic captain retires from International fitba at 31 to prolong club career but with no intention of ever testing ability in a better league.

Seems like someone that would be a good manager so I'm in.
