  1. Easier said than done.........at my age... An apprenticeship in the motor trade (and various related activities since) dictate that I would really only take the bike to a LBS if it was under warranty or had been recalled. I understand that this is not for everyone but it adds to the enjoyment in some crazy mixed upway.... I made a workstand for the bikes some time ago which clamps on to the seat tube so that it wont damage the frame, it's a bit rough but does the trick..Kinda like me..
  2. I ventured out as well yesterday with Daughter on MTBs..... Roughly 13 miles, about one of those on a grassy path which made us work a bit, but all in all very enjoyable. The real test now is to get the road bike on the turbo trainer 'Santa' delivered, as I've (almost) convinced myself to get a wee bit fitter this coming year....!
  3. Fair play to Cav.. great effort and well deserved..! I would prefer to see Wiggins win the Yellow though.....! Your thoughts ..........?
  4. I asked the question as when I cycle to work it's mostly on back roads, some of which are quiet, some busy with hardly any busses. In my experience the 'driving styles' are scary on those too......... Anyway, totally understand the 'city' thing........... Brechin......
  5. But will I enjoy it as much as a good night oot............?
  6. This took my eye, for no real reason TBH. http://www.sjscycles...111q-prod12026/
  7. Jesus..20mph average.. Whilst I happily put my name down for a P&B cycle get together and was aware at my age and fitness level I would be the 'Lanterne Rouge' I never expected that sort of pace....... Still considering whether to splash the cash and get a Turbo Trainer. Liked the look/price of one on line. Mrs B just shakes her head in disbelief when I mention it... ! May I ask how far you travel before you hit the city and your total each day?
