  1. Happy with that as well. But I'd play it safe and stick with O'Donnell at RWB for this one. Think it's too big a risk to field the inexperienced Patterson against a formidable and attacking Israel team. Play Patterson against Faroe Islands though.
  2. I'd take a 70% fit Gilmour in our midfield over any other midfield player we have, besides McGinn.
  3. We never win at Airdrie. Also £18 to get in? Get stuffed.
  4. Not sure what injuries Davidson/Murdoch have but if Swansons injury is indeed a knee cruciate ligament, he won't be back before February/March at the very earliest if he's lucky.
  5. Be curious to see how Darren Young starts this one. From last weekend it would appear that Gallacher will be another added to the injury list so Jude Smith will surely come in for him. Does he change the entire back line, bring in Osei-Bonsu/Dan Higgins whom we haven't even seen yet etc? Seems to be part of the problem with our squad at the moment, is that there are no obvious or clear stand-out players for each starting position. It feels like you could do a random draw for all the GK's/Defenders/Midfielders/Strikers we have and that is what could start tomorrow.
  6. Would be nice to go at least one competitive match without conceding a single goal. Our defence is a bomb scare.
  7. So I've just realised I've purchased a Home ticket instead of an away ticket (both £14). Hope they'll just let me through and join the away section anyway? Or have I ballsed up here?
  8. A player named Andrew Osei-Bonsu supposedly signing. Never heard of him
  9. Didn't see the game today (£18..........get in the bin) but it sounded like 3-1 could so easily have been avoided and gone the other way round. I think that's worse actually than deserving to lose.
  10. Of the (at least) 5 signings we still need to make this has been the least important.
  11. Desperate times calls for desperate measures. Has that actually been confirmed? I'm sure there will be many other strikers at amateur club level thinking "well why can't I get signed up for a League 1 club then?"
  12. This, pretty much sums it up. After what can only be described as a pre-season shambles, I don't think I've dreaded a season as much as this one. Haven't really kept an eye out on how QP have been doing but it couldn't be anywhere near as bad. Away win 3-0. My first match back at Bayview so going to try and at least enjoy it as much as I can.
  13. I'd rather the club concentrated on getting a barrier around the pitch for spectators. It's little wonder why people regard Bayview as one of the worst grounds in Scottish football.
  14. Didn't see the match this afternoon but wouldn't look too much into it as with the squad they have, Kelty are a Championship standard team at the very minimum. But it doesn't change the fact that we desperately need some experienced additions to the squad. Dropping like flies now Murdoch injured along with Swanson (long-term) and McGuigan contract terminated. At this rate our bench, week-in week-out, will be the u20's.
  15. Ach well disappointing result but I'm sure we can turn it around in time for Kelty this weekend. [emoji2359]
  16. Losing Danny Swanson to what looks to be a very serious knee injury is the absolute last thing we needed.
  17. Team so far. GK's - Gallacher/..............? RB - Mercer/Murdoch CB- Steele/Dunlop LB - Higgins/Slattery CM's - McManus/Davidson/Newton Wingers - Dunsmore/Denholm/Watt/Swanson Strk's - Wallace/McGuigan/Smith/Wallace Could do with another CB. Would like to see Higgins moved over to his natural position as left back again. Or maybe Mercer can be switched over to left back instead? Murdoch is a fine RB but Mercer could probably fill that role and open Murdoch to the possibility of moving back into CM?
  18. I was an emotional wreck in the build-up yesterday (especially when seeing all the players belting out the national anthem) only for all of that to be undone when O'Donnell fumbled the ball on the sideline and not long after, took the ball off Christie after just 15 mins. Knew exactly where the day was going after that.
  19. This England squad is ferociously quick and we will need to match them the best we can. If Clarke sticks with O'Donnell at RWB then they may as well not even bother turning up. Like lamb to the slaughter. Biggest line up changes from Czech game for me is that Gilmour *has* to start this one and risk putting in Forrest as RWB instead of O'Donnell. He did reasonably well against the Netherlands. Far too soon for Patterson in a game of this magnitude. Struggled when he came on against Luxemburg. 5-3-2 Marshall/Gordon Forrest Cooper Hanley Tierney Robertson McTominay Gilmour McGinn Adams Christie
  20. Scotland fans celebrating and having a blast even after losing does not equate to the fans applauding a poor performance. Get a grip you bunch of moaning gits. Not to get all la-di-da but there is more to life than what happens on the football pitch. Anyway back to the game itself, knew from the minute the line up was revealed that we were going to struggle. Refuse to play Adams or Gilmour and pick O'Donnell as a RWB when you have Forrest who did well against Netherlands? - Clarke got exactly what he deserved in the end. *PS. Spare me the brutal "Gilmour hardly has any experience" patter. The wee' man is absolutely quality and you don't need to be a footballing genius to see that.
  21. By choosing not take the knee, we'll be made to look like nothing but a bunch of spineless cowards, appeasing to some of the absolute lowest in our society. This shouldn't even up for debate. You only have to look at the types of individuals who have already come out commending this to understand just how badly the SFA have misjudged this. 23 year absence of Scotland in major football tournaments, and we're already in danger of embarrassing ourselves on a global stage before we've even kicked a ball.
