Dundee are going with the same squad they had for the second half of last season plus the youngsters (and Jakubiak) who were on loan. Tyler French, a 23 year old central defender, is the only signing (so far). He came from Wrexham and as a kid played for Bowyer at Bradford City. And there's also Ben Williamson on loan from Rangers.

In the first league cup game, against Hamilton, all 20 players listed were on the books last season. 10 came up through the academy, 5 starting and 5 on the bench.

Hi Rumpo... i'm  actually excited about the number of good youngsters breaking through this time around ,  looks like a good balance with the experienced lads as well .

I’m not totally against giving Marshall a new deal but I think he’s bang average. Gets forward but very one paced, slightly suspect defending. Much rather have Nathan Ralph for example.
McDaid is a waste of a jersey. Much rather Robertson got a start - he’s not a headless chicken.

Pretty much agree with you about Marshall....decent driving forward but keeps getting caught switching off or being outjumped for me.

In the interest of containing Covid I would like to put the idea of Liam Fontaine and Cristophe Berra being put head to head in a 2.5k run. Winners side takes three points, loser gets taken down the back of the Derry and put out their misery.

If it takes place i would suggest bringing a flask and a sleeping bag.....two of them are so slow.....could be a long drawn out event...

  4. If Dumbarton had equalised we'd have been level with Accies on goal difference. They'd have gone up as champions because they'd scored more goals.

Morecambe was superb. Sitting, beer in hand, out on the terrace of the Midland Hotel watching the sun going down over Morecambe Bay, Dundee songs wafting over the gentle breeze from every pub along the front. Magic. :)

Rumpo !!!! YOU DRINK BEER ? Here was me thinking I was a shining example to you,now I find that you take a tipple when I'm not looking......shame on you !
  5. No, I've never had any feedback from the managers or players, which suits me fine. There's been the odd nice comment that's come in from fans and been passed on by the office. After that first game at Falkirk last season it was mentioned that the board had discussed my report, but I wasn't asked to change the content. I think it's to the credit of the club that they give me so much freedom. I don't understand why other clubs don't try to tell it like it is. It's not as if the fans are fooled if it's been a honking performance. This is the account I wrote in the close season about writing the reports for the promotion campaign. I really was crapping it the day after the Falkirk match!

No need to thank us for telling you what to write on a Saturday.
  6. I dont think anyone is suggesting a like for like replacement

We are downsizing just now. No bad thing.

Pretty much agree with that....but if Falkirk are downsizing, players like Swankie who have no passion or fight in them are not the type of players i would want at my club.I'm not saying he is a bad player but when you need the players to dig in....Swankie will go missing.

  7. Yes that is true. But with Dundee we did have cooperation with the board to a large extent. Relations between the Livi fans and the Livi board are far from cordial. That's where we had the advantage to push on with our efforts to save our club, but for Livingston it will be difficult and I just hope that they can pull through it.

Desperate times for them indeed, totally agree about our board, although if we had handed all the money to the administrator as requested, it would have disappeared into a black hole ,instead we were able to donate sums towards various things, point is, money was distributed wisely. Livi don't have that option, nevertheless they have to get talking although it might be too late for them.

  8. Stirling Albion's figures are even lower but everyone's behind them (including me). Numbers don't come into the equation here: my club is being shafted hugely by a serial liar and that's all that should count. FOOTBALL fans will understand this.

When Dundee went into admin, everyone rallied around to help the club from bucket collections,to bottled water to concerts and many other events were organised , but just as important it helped give the support hope for the clubs survival seeing the efforts and inspiration by the organisers of various groups. I may be wrong ,but i get the impression that there is a division with fans groups and the trust at livi, i feel boycotting any meetings however stong feelings are wont move things forward, people have to stand up and be counted these are tough days ahead ,we,ve been there , its no fun .

  9. looks like livingston are goin to go bust the answer is who will replace them in the sfl and its not just bad for livingston it makes scottish football look bad also 2 teams goin bust within a year and 2 teams who had a bright future not so long ago

The moral of the story is, ....don,t spend what you can,t afford.......oh and remember to pay your bills  .
