Not sure if I dislike more that Nick McAllister is still starting, or that we signed a team of the year left back and appear to be intent on playing him at centre half.
Both very valid points

I can’t see us signing Carse and Hastie but I’d be happier with the former. Would imagine Rus might start playing a wider role rather than the area behind the strikers.
Unless Carse is signed for Dempseys position but that would leave us with about four players for that one place.
Ones a centre mid and the other is a winger so doubt one signing completely rules out the other. We probably don’t need both though and will be dependent on where we see Rus.

Would have took him at Ayr, hoped the friendship with Andy Murdoch might of gave us a chance. I notice Kerr McInroy hasn’t got a club yet. Think he was fine at Thistle on the whole but was poor in the playoff matches I watched. If Carse does sign I suspect that will be us in the centre mid area.

Wouldn’t be overly excited with Carse signing. Didn’t really make an impression at QP last season.

Hope Jamie Hamilton gets another run out as by all accounts he seems to have been impressive in the two games he’s played albeit against lower league opposition.

Ewan Henderson released from Hibs would be perfect I'm that number 10 position I'm sure he's out of our price range but I'm sure the Brown connection could help ilif interested
No thanks. With the signings of Oakley and McMann we’ve increased the handsomeness of the squad dramatically. He would only bring it back down.

True thou my worry would be if he’s facing a Maeda and gets torn a new one I know he’s played very well so far but he hasn’t really been tested defensively and even if not Maeda it might be Johnston who would be a challenge still
The alternative is playing McAllister who is also likely to be rinsed by whatever winger Celtic play so doesn’t make a difference imo. I’ve not been at any of our two friendlies so far but based on reports Watreat should probably be ahead of McAllister in the pecking order this season.

This like a fifth striker behind Dowds, Oakley, Bryden, McKenzie and my Granny?
On loan at Queen on the south last season, 5 goals in 12 appearances
That’s not terrible tbf. A goal almost every 2nd game albeit at a lower level. I’d be surprised if Bryden or McKenzie matched that sort of record in league below.

Notice McGeady hasn’t featured in either of our preseason friendlies. What’s the bet he plays on Friday as a crowd pleaser for the Celtic fans?

I’d rather have Hamilton over McGowan. A defence of Watret, Hamilton, Musonda and McMann should be a big improvement on last season.
George Stanger would like a word.

Not fussed about winning or losing, just want to know we're defensively sound.

I’m still expecting a RB and CB to come in prior to league starting so I’m not worried.

Si ferrys passing philosophy. Get it right up him.

New trialist on the bench.
So what trialist has been let go? Hamilton or Hastie?

Ryan McGowan anyone? Courier reporting that he’s due to sign for a championship club this week.

Has Kerr McInroy been offered a contract from you boys? I just presumed he would sign permanently for you given he was a starter a lot last season. Has the Kyle Turner signing maybe put a spanner in the works.

How long Murphy likely to be out for?

We can score Ricki Lamie off our list of potentials, signed a two year deal at Ross County.

Sometimes players are brought in on trial just to make the numbers or to use as leverage with serious targets ! Who knows if this is the case here but it might be !
I highly doubt we’d have a player like Jake Hastie on trial if we weren’t possibly looking to sign him. I personally don’t really rate him but if we see Rus as more of a central player then we would be looking for a 4th winger if Brown is still wanting to go with the two players for every position.

Back 4 of him, Smith, Rose and Bell

We’ll take the view that it’s a gamble but if we offer him a multi year deal and it pays off then we’ve got a sellable asset.
He likely won’t start as first choice but by all accounts played well in his 45 minutes last night. Good range of passing and very vocal in defence.
If we sign Hamilton I think he’ll be our starting RB unless we sign another RB.
Quite mental when you think about the amount of ex players of each team that could be lining up first game of the season. For Hamilton: Albinson, McGinty, Longridge, Hewitt, Bradley. Potentially Rose. For Ayr: McMann, Stanger, Oakley. Potentially Hamilton and Hastie.

I wonder if Liam would like to be reunited with his old full back parter of two seasons or so ?
I’ve read this a few times and can’t work out who you’re talking about.
