Reading I can just about allow* however we can scrap any plan to win promotion this season if McAllister is regularly starting at RB. Not overly bothered if Musonda moves on but watch him sign for another championship club and play the vast majority of games. If he does go it means we need 2 centre backs and another LB to challenge Reading.

This, as you say he may well be shite however given we already have two starting wingers in Murphy and Henderson he’s worth a punt. He just needs to contribute more than Amartey and McGeady did this season to be considered a success.
I’d be a bit more concerned if we were making this sort of signing for the RB position. They need to be an almost guaranteed success or we risk a Ahui/McAllister situation.

As much as were all desperate for signings were in a fairly decent position at the moment in terms of squad rebuilding. Only Livingston have signed more players at this stage. We’re currently sitting at a squad of 21, I suspect 3 or 4 of them may move on loan which will free up some more space. That being said we’re still needing to add 5 or 6 so a lot of work still to be done.
