Anyone with unused access codes for Switzerland/Hubgary? And can have a look at what sections are available on that one…

I can only check Hungary, but by the looks of it only Fans First and Restricted View Category 3 have sold out so far. Regular Category 3 and all the more expensive categories are still showing as available options.

FWIW, I thought the ticket buying process was fairly simple - with one exception. My original basket timed out after I'd clicked 'Buy Now', but before I'd accepted Ts&Cs or chosen/entered a payment method (originally you were supposed to have 15 minutes to check out, but this was then reduced to 5 due to a high number of users attempting to access the site). To be honest, 5 minutes would still have been enough time - that was on me for fannying around.

Timing out meant I got logged out and then my access codes for the two games I'd been trying to buy wouldn't work for upwards of 30 minutes, with the interupted order sitting on my account as 'In Progress' (and - weirdly - stating that it had been paid). It sounds like people were unable to re-use an access code for varying amounts of time, including some who got back on signficantly quicket than me. I didn't try closing the browser and restarting, which other people seem to reckon worked for resetting their codes. Once the original order changed to cancelled I was able to get back in for tickets to those games - but there's no option for you as a user to cancel it yourself.

The short version is just don't let your basket time out. There weren't really any repercussions for me, as I got the same tickets anyway once I could eventually get back in. The stakes in terms of pricing/availability will obviously be much higher tomorrow though.

Club TV are also contractually down pecking order when it comes to gantry access (which is perfectly fine when they give you the BBC Scotland feed) and on that note I don't see a gantry in the plans.

I'm assuming that the TV room (next door to the media room) is intended as the primary camera location, given that it's got a sight line to the nearside corner flag marked on that plan? One of the other planning docs also appears to show a different window setup for that room, which looks like it would allow them to fully open without restricting the movement/field of view of a camera.

  3. I doubt I'll be able to watch many games live so I'm hoping to be able to watch them after the original broadcast, but the website seems to suggest they're only available two days after the game actually happens. Plus there's very little information about being able to watch playoff games. If I end up at the mercy of whatever games are on the Premier Sports channel then I'll be quite annoyed.

Pretty sure the blackout rules changed towards the end of last season, meaning that you could watch games (those which had been shown on Premier sports) as soon as the live event had finished - rather than having to wait 48 hours as had been the case previously. Unless that's been changed back for the coming season then it pretty much removes the issue of blackouts (as long as you're not wanting to watch the games live).

That change is particularly handy during the playoffs as Premier Sports always shows about half of the first round games and almost every single game from the later stages. Was able to watch all the Sharks' playoff games the morning after and there's a single option on the app to turn off all scores, so you don't spoil the result when selecting which game to watch.
  4. doing thins the hard way with another OT victory over philly, suppose a wins a win, tough 5 game road trip now though so hope we can at least go .500 :thumsup2

The Leafs put up one of the worst performances I've seen all season against the Sharks, sandwiched between beating both the Ducks and the Kings, which I have to say was rather good of them.

  5. Sharks currently 1-28 on their own power play. Looking just a touch disjointed.

Especially given that the one goal came from the second unit. Hopefully Thornton and Boyle come back rested after the Olympic break, because it's been painful to watch them with the man advantage for quite a while now. Not to mention that Boyle in general has looked in need of a break ever since coming back from injury.

  6. Premier Sports upping their coverage of the NHL this season is pissing me off. I bought Gamecenter Live to watch Leafs games and although they've not been on PS much yet that's set to change with the game at Vancouver tonight the first of 5 of their games on PS this month. Sadly PS at a tenner a month is far too expensive for me to consider on top of the much better value £65 for the season for GCL. Don't imagine I'll get to see much of the playoffs though since PS claims to be showing the majority of them.

It's a pain in the ass. Though last year I suffered through it in the regular season, and then bought PS for the playoffs, which wasn't too bad for just a tenner extra. I'm lucky this year though, as no games seem to be blacked out in France.

  7. Does anyone know if bt sports will showing any nhl?

I think it's still Premier Sports who own the rights to showing NHL games in the UK.

At what cost though? Left injured in the second period. Had no idea he was only 19. Picked at 17 in the draft last year, would appear San Jose have got a pearler, early days though obviously.

Early signs seem to be that it was precautionary rather than anything serious, but then teams aren't exactly forthcoming with injury news. Burish, for example, has been out with "minor scrapes and bruises" since early in pre-season, so who knows.

  8. Sharks won again winning 4-1. Seem to have a find in rookie Tomas Hetel. Assist in his first NHL game then two goals in his 2nd.

Great start for him, and he always seems to be enjoying himself on the ice. He couldn't have asked for a better chance when starting his NHL career - on a line with Joe Thornton and Burns (who also tend to avoid the opposition's top line and get plenty of offensive-zone starts). He's being given every opportunity to do well, and hopefully he can carry on his great start over the season.

  9. Sharks in not bottling it shocker? Joe Thornton in supremely talented player not disappearing at key times shocker? We shall see, but the suspicion I have is that team is mentally weak.

Well, they lost in the end, but I thought they had a pretty good run given the way the season looked to be going in Feb/March. The collapse at the end of game 2 was the killer, but overall I wouldn't say they looked mentally weak. Credit to the Kings, who really improved over the last 3 games, and of course Quick was great throughout.

  10. Well having been the team who went longest without a loss at the start, the Sharks have lost all 7 in February and still have a few away games left before they get back to home ice. That said, this is my first season really following the NHL closely and I've still enjoyed it so far.

A question though, what is it players always get sent out of the face-off circle for (and replaced by someone else on their team) - going for the puck before it's been dropped? Never really been sure on the exact rules around the faceofff.

  11. Sharks are 7-0-0. Which is pleasing. But we've all seen this story before with that team. Maybe the shortened season will help them, but I full expect them to do what they do every year and bottle it when they get to the play-offs.

Performance has dipped in the last couple of games, although obviously it's nice to still grind out the wins despite that. The penalty kill is good at the moment though, which makes a change.

They just can't help themselves, can they? Sing along now P&B... 'All together now, the cry was....'

Can anyone also explain why most of the banner carriers felt the need to cover their faces with scarves? Surely this was a peaceful protest about the unbelievable injustices being meted out to poor downtrodden victimised Celtic Rangers FC, and not some anti-capitalist bollox where a bit of bovver was on the cards?

    Severe cases of ugliness?
