We've got loads of forwards anyway.
Not many midfield players though.
Jordan Thompson (on loan to Raith) played too.
That's fair enough. Just surprised he's allowed to play in it when he's on loan to St mirren.0 -
He's at St Mirren on a development loan so he can play for his parent clubs development squad.
Surely he can't play for St mirren then later in the cup?0 -
Why is Ryan hardie allowed to play in the cup when he's on loan at st Mirren?
Skyline drifter?
Away to the St mirren thread0 -
I doubt brown will be going anywhere

Don't agree with Stevie being sacked. He's done what he was brought in for. Keeping us up. What concerns me is the lack of fitness. I know it's still pre season but we looked knackered the other night after 30 mins

Back to the game. It didn't look going by the highlights the Dumbarton deserved to win the game.

When Brown kicks, it's like his foot is under the ball too much, which in turn gives it too much elevation, I'd prefer if he just put his foot through it, and got it forward to the front men,
Without doubt ewings was outstanding in the second half of last season, he fully deserves his chance at number one
Maybe he will try it after reading this post. You would make a good gk coach0 -
Pitch is looking absolutely zinging.
Anyway, Mark Brown in goals. That'll be fun.
Aye buster put a lot of work into it0 -
Last
Many did he score last?0 -
Surely it would be more concerning if we were paying silly wages? I'd rather finish bottom with 0 points than spend what we can't afford.
We have guys like Barr, Stirling, Buchanan, Fleming, Wright and Stevenson who will be on a very decent part-time wage. You could probably throw Mark Brown and Gallagher in there as well. We aren't scrimping by with u17's and lower league jobbers, all of them should be capable of doing a job at this level. Losing out on Nade and Agnew is no big deal IMO.
The quality of our squad is absolutely fine, just require a couple of more bodies and we'll be sorted.
And don't think brown is helping things tbh0 -
Probably more down to good financial management in our part, anyway, I think Thomson will score more than nade this season
Nade this season or last?0 -

Of course it is but think the cost cutting ie under 20s and the size of the squad is concerning.
don't think we have improved in the squad last year. I think it's a poorer team however I may be proved wrong0 -
I presume our budget is bigger than theirs? Concerning if not.
Very concerning. As is the size of our squad and the quality imo0 -
A ticket match with our limited capacity has an adverse effect on crowds.
Season books are at the stadium available for collection. You should have been notified.
I think the reason is the away crowds.

Any striker will look rotten if the team he`s in doesn't create anything!
Looking at Dumbarton from the outside your away goalscoring record in particular is abysmal.
That's pish.

Goalscoring for a part time club in an almost full time league will always be a problem.
Nade did well but wasn't there long and has gone?
Darian McKinnon was playing in Dumbarton for years and you didn't sign him so excuse me for being sceptical about your scouting sysyem!
McKinnon wasn't signed with Dumbarton cos the baggage .

I think we are weaker than last season. I don't know as I've not checked about other teams

To be fair, he spends a bit on corporate days, yet ain't a business man
Nothing wrong in giving money into the club. More than you done last year

£10 to watch a non-competitive, glorified training session?
Sorry, but no thanks, not for me. I'll see the new guys when the season starts properly.
Not for me. Waste of time Imo

Think our squad was alot stronger last season and think this year will be harder

Thing is it worked as he helped us stay in the league.

Surely we are paying nowhere near 800... I'd love to know these numbers for a fact but we never will..
That's the amount I heard

Think my 1st game was against Arbroath or stenny when we won the old 2nd division early 90s.

Monday, 5th April 1999 is the first game I can remember. Dumbarton 6, Cowdenbeath 1 was the final score. Cowdenbeath were rank rotten that day and the Sons fans actually cheered when Cowdenbeath scored!
Did Toby king score a cracker that day?

Thought docherty had an excellent game yesterday also thought the young lad Thomson from Celtic had a decent game. Few nice touches and passes. Donaldson for Utd is a donkey.
