What train are you on? A group of us getting 1045 to Haymarket from Queens Street then switching to Aberdeen train to get in at 1350
We're planning to get a taxi to ground
If game is postponed enroute we're just going to get off and try somewhere else, possibly Arbroath vs Motherwell
We are on the 9.40 from Queen St direct to Aberdeen - on the 19.45 one back. Tickets are train specific and non refundable so if it ends up being off will probably just do the day out anyway but with a pub in Aberdeen for soccer Saturday replacing the Ayr game part of it - ticket refund would pay for a few pints at least
Edit - same re Taxi to ground, then was thinking of a couple in Social Club post match (if it's open after games?) Before heading back in to town

Inverness v Queens Park in cup postponed - means QP have to go there for replay on Tuesday 31st before we play them on Friday 3rd. Would be good if we could manage to get our game played tomorrow to avoid having to have our replay on same night.
I realise I've almost certainly jinxed it now of course.

Jeezo, got the non refundable train tickets already booked. Assumed it would be fine based on forecast

He got hurt on Saturday , still training though , bruising on top off foot, kicked opponents studs when clearing a ball near end of game
that's right- I remember that now. That's not too bad then, would assume he would only miss the cup tie in that case.
What about Murdoch - is it a thigh muscle he has hurt? Think that maybe got mentioned post match v Hamilton

Did Kirk take a knock against Arbroath?
Also heard yesterday that Musonda had two different tears in his leg and that isn’t even close to being fit. Hope that’s a load of nonsense but if it isn’t then we really need cover for that.
Aye if that's true then a CB has to be a major priority especially if Kirk is going to be unreliable - we absolutely can't be going into second half of season with only McAllister and McGinty as options.

Houston fit for Saturday, Murdoch and Kirk struggling. Livingston taking the pass over Mullin but talks ongoing...
WTF is up with Kirk.

Getting the train up to this - first visit to Cove so looking for advice - is best bet a few pints near Aberdeen train station then a taxi out to the ground?

Does any doubt around McGinty come from current or historic efforts?
Not even sure what that means. He's had some absolute howlers - first time I ever noticed the guy I was I'm Hospitality at Firhill when Ayr beat them 2-1 with Muirhead scoring the winner- McGinty came in post game and seemed to take the abuse very well having been deatroyed by a young Luke McCowan on one of his first starts (including from me who drunkenly offered him a sugar lump. riddy).
Came to Ayr via Morton - makes mistakes as does every centre back in this league but I genuinely don't get the hate - in fact as club captain who isn't even a first choice starter and who half the fans seem to hate then the guys attitude seems absolutely fucking spot on.

Yeah fact Bullen has spent the first two weeks of January saying it's important to keep a hold of Chalmers and Mullin means i'm pretty confident behind the scenes targets have been drawn to replace either of those two if they were recalled.
Can absolutely guarantee they are. Chalmers is a massive loss but it frees up a lot of wage budget.

There are plenty of decent honest players at this level. They aren't anywhere near being a club captain though. Perhaps if he was left to earn his place or not based on performances then less abuse might come his way
How has he not earned his place currently? He's 3rd choice CB behind Kirk and Musonda, one of whom is injured. Murdoch has been captain when he doesn't play. Who are you starting at CB today instead?

people who have clearly never attempted to play football in a gale force wind before.
This in a nutshell. When Dempsey is trying to place the ball about 5 times before he can hit a penalty and folk are shouting that he needs to hit it quicker then you know the game is a farce. It's 2 points dropped probably, but a better result than Morton losing at Hamilton so all in all, take it.
The end of January will be pretty positive player wise, I'm absolutely certain of that. Work is being done.

Chalmers leaving is bad for us on the park, but will free up a pretty big bit of wage budget going forward. Up to those in charge to use it wisely.

There were guys behind me (far right of the Railway end towards the bogs) absolutely slaughtering McGinty after our equaliser "haha big useless b*****d finally does something"
Annoys me. I like the big guy. He's been good this season. And having scrolled back through this thread to the day he signed I was absolutely one of his biggest critics and delighted to admit I was wrong.

That's an absolute sickener

The two before that were Houston and Young though...
Ah, I'd missed the Houston one. Young's was the one before he came back into starting XI v Dundee though. There's probably no pattern at all, just been a few that have stuck in my mind.

Aye. Cracking drying weather today so far but really just depends on the timing and heaviness of rain overnight you'd think.

InterestiInteresting article about Bryden I think in the Daily Ranger web page, Bully praising his attitude and recovery from injury, interesting he says he has faced competition or words to that affect from Dipo, McKenzie and Ashford but doesn't mention Young.....I'm possibly looking too much into that, Robbo?
Saw that, plus Bryden is the player in the Press Conference. That's usually a sign that a player will be starting the next game

Going a bit off topic for an Ayr v Arbroath thread but it's the Ayr v Cove Rangers game that clashes with the Scotland v Cyprus qualifier on 25th March. Not much hope of that being on TV I wouldn't have thought. I'd just assumed they would move KO time to avoid the clash but with it being Cove it might not be that easy as an earlier / later / Friday night KO might not be agreeable to them with the additional travel factored in.

Can he hold the ball up is the big thing for us right now?
Aye - one of his main strengths was holding it up if he got it to feet.

Three very winnable games coming up the Queens away .
Queens have tricky away games at Dundee and Inverness before we play them as well.

Strange game, we had a few good individual performances but was overall pretty poor.

Hamilton HT Draw FT 16/1 the stand out bet for me.

Can't see this being on - inspection that early is surely just to confirm the away fans don't need to travel.
