  1. Thought the setlist worked. Having stuff like Slipshod alongside There's a Price on Your Head and The Jester worked well. Loved that middle section of songs. Was pure pandemonium in the standing area. Some sight.

Aye it was a really good gig and as you say. the middle section in particular did work well. Just me being overly critical.

  2. I was at the Corn Exchange for Enter Shikari last night as well. I thought they were quite good although I'd rather they had played a few of the older songs. I realise the tour is to promote the new album but a few brilliant tunes from the first couple of albums missed out.

Never heard of either of the support acts so didn't bother with them.

  3. Was at Vitesse v AZ in the Dutch top flight on Friday night. Have to say expected more from the actual match, did not seem to be too much higher a standard than your average Scottish game. Atmosphere/crowd were cracking though and they make a fair amount of noise with the roof of the stadium closed.

  4. Was Beth in amongst the group last night when they escaped Terminus? In fact, was she even in terminus? Apologies that I haven't remembered, but I just absorbed the first 4 seasons in a 2-week binge, in order to be ready for last night.

After watching at least 2 episodes every night, it's really strange to have to wait until next week now though.

Beth was kidnapped at some point near the end of Season 4 IIRC. Strange there was no mention at all of her in last nights episode.

  5. Any examples?

Not any exactly from the book but I can explain what I mean. It's going back to the detail he gives on certain situations. I find sometimes when he's describing something he uses and quite a lot.

For example, the night was dark and *something* and *something* and *something*

Don't get me wrong, so far it's been a very good read despite knowing the major plot points already but sometimes it does seem like he's gotten a bit bored when writing it.

    A very minor complaint.

  6. My girlfriends' brother claims that they spend page after page doing things like describing a table. He could be winding me up, but I ain't got time for that kinda malarkey. I've read a grand total of 3 books in the last 5 years.

Having managed half of A Game of Thrones so far he's definitely winding you up. Some thing he does describe in too much detail but it's not as bad as made out. I actually found some of it poorly written in some places however.

  7. All these postings of book spoilers that I'm resisting clicking have inspired me to go out and buy the books.

That will fill some of the void until the next TV series is out.

  8. Yeah it was just something I thought at the time of writing, not really sure how it would work. I'm certain we'll see the Dragons fight the White Walkers though, fucking certain

I'd be more surprised if that didn't happen. God knows how far into the future we're going to see it however.

Edit - Going back to Martin wanting to make a GoT film. I'd love to see them do the rebellion as a standalone film.

  9. I maybe read to much into the Ice and Fire aspect, but I've always assumed Jon Snow would fight on the "Ice" side of things if it ever came to a Ice v Fire situation. Reading that Martin wants a film made out of it suggests there will be an epic fucking fight.

    White walkers v Dragons?

I know it's Game of Thrones and anything can happen but I really couldn't ever see Jon Snow joining with White Walkers if that situation was to arise.

  10.

Edit: What about some crown uniting eventually? Bran, Tyrion and Stannis' daughter as the dragon riders?

If that were the case I reckon Jon fits in there rather than Tyrion
  11. So, they don't know where she is, which means they don't know of the demise of Lisa Arryn or who is in charge of The Eyrie now?

They know of the dragons in Braavos.

This network of spies that Varys has can be a bit of a letdown at times. Same with the ravens they used to send.

It's a minor gripe, but it is bloody annoying me now.

It is Littlefinger who's protecting her remember. If anyone could keep her whereabouts quiet (other than Varys) it'd be him.

  12. Was a bit underwhelmed by that. Had been told a 'spoiler' over the weekend which ended up being untrue (or just hasn't happened yet). However, I can't wait for next weeks.

  13. I should know better by now but that ending absolutely stunned me. Gutted to see Oberyn go as he was becoming one of my favourite characters of the entire show.

As for Tyrion it's looking very bleak for him. Can only really see Jaime as a way out for a him although I've got a sneaking suspicion Tommen might have something to say before any execution.

  14. It was me and my 2 brothers going for tickets, my brother got through no problem and at 5 past 9 it said that there was none available for both me and my brother. Delighted to be going though as this will be my first time seeing them.

First time for me as well. Thought I'd missed my chance after Reading and Leeds.

  15. I also managed to get 2 for The Libertines. Four of us all online trying to get them hoping we could get at least one each but unfortunately we only managed the 2 I got.

  16. Dean Ambrose is hokey as f**k. I don't get it. He's not a big guy, not amazing technically, his promos make me cringe and his facial expressions and selling are embarrassing. I shake my head any time he's on TV.

Reigns will headline future Wrestlemanias, Rollins could potentially go into a Jericho type role in a few years, but Ambrose stinks.

I agree with this. Rollins is much more entertaining to watch in the ring and has vastly improved him promo work.

  17. Incredible.

If you did lose the playoff would you get your money back or just get charged rip off championship prices?

Sounds bad if the club needed money in that early.

I'd be surprised to get money back. God knows what excuse they'll use to justify it but I think they'll do it.

As for it being early I'm pretty sure it's so they know roughly what they've got to spend before the transfer window opens. I'm not going to argue about that as Hibs have been notorious for leaving it too late and being left with the dross that no one else wants.

  18. How can you have a season ticket for next season when you don't even know what league you are in?

I admire any football fan who tells work to get to f**k I'm going to the footy though, so respect my man

Believe it or not Hibs sent our their renewal forms in February this year for whatever reason.

I can only speak for myself but I didn't foresee us being in this predicament and I can't imagine the club did either.

  19. No worries.

I honestly can't remember if Tywin's letter is in the TV show or not, but it's not a massive plot point. In the very first scene of the first episode, where the rangers are killed by the white walkers, the ranger in command was a newbie who didn't know what he was doing, but had been made an officer because he was of noble birth.

His wikipedia entry doesn't mention the letter but I'm not sure if that's in relation to the books or the TV show anyway.

As for the opening scene I can't remember any of the dialogue from that scene so it's no wonder I was unaware
