  1. Confirmed that Josh Gordon will be suspended for all of the coming year.
  2. I'm sure when Off the Ball did it before there was one where a guy was called Brad by all his workmates, and he thought it was because he looked like Brad Pitt. In truth it was short for bradawl because he was a small boring tool.
  3. One of the labourers at work is called Wolfie, because he is always "howling".
  4. Tiger is back with a bang then. Currently sitting 128nd and last place in the Waste Management Phoenix Open, 20 shots behind the leader.
  5. 20 years ago today since Steve Young threw a record 6 TD passes for the 49ers against the Chargers.
  6. Just reading the daughter's school newsletter, there's a boy in her class called TJay.
  7. Not quite in the same league as some of the guff on here, but at one time I was a shop steward and in the middle of one particular dispute we refused to deal with our own manager, so they brought in another one from a different department to try and negotiate. At the first meeting we had with him he introduces himself and says "I've been airdropped in here to try and broker a deal", which prompted the retort from one of my esteemed colleagues of "Who the f**k do you think you are? Rudolf Hess?"
  8. Ryan Wilson was found guilty and fined £750. Charges against Grant and Hughes were not proven. The reports are brilliant. "A minion, a red crayon and others in fancy dress were nearby as the incident unfolded."
  9. Glad I read that right to the bottom with the part with what names are allowed in some countries. Have to hand it to whatever Kiwi parents named their child Number 16 Bus Shelter. I can only guess that this was where the child was conceived.
  10. Not blaming the players btw for not being arsed, I'm sure all that anyone wants to do when their own team's season is over is go on holiday, not keep yourself training for a few more weeks to play in a glorified training session.
  11. A gutter. Inches away from getting a try in the closing stages.
  12. Makes sense then why they keep it going with those viewing figures. Get the impression that the players aren't that fussed though when you see the number of them that can be fit all season yet get injured when their season finished a month ago.
  13. Nope. Complete waste of time IMO. How is it actually viewed in the States?
  14. They showed that clip on The Last Leg last night. FFS! They were saying that there were two babies supposed to be there for the filming, but neither one turned up, so they just shoved in a plastic doll and hoped nobody would notice. Saw the Theory of Everything today, excellent imo. A lot more humour in it than I expected and as already mentioned the two leads are superb. 9/10 Edit to add: There's a scene in a French hospital and I thought the guy playing the doctor looked familiar from something I've seen before, just had a look on IMDB and it turns out that it's Frank Lebouef the former Chelsea and France defender!
  15. Yep, had a sharp intake of breath when I saw the team announcement. It was always going to be tough against a Bath side which is playing far better than they were at the time of the first game, but given the line up it would be one of Glasgow's best results, possibly even the best ever, if they could somehow win.
  16. Australia win by three wickets with one ball to spare.
  17. A lot tighter now than it looked like it was going to be. Aussies still need a couple of runs from the last 3.
  18. Really thought England should have been pushing on towards 350 after that start.
  19. Australia won the toss and put England into bat, probably wishing they hadn't as Bell and Ali put on a fairly rapid 113 for the first wicket. Ali went for 46 with a poor shot, Taylor followed soon after with a timid looking 5. England 131/2 after 22 overs.
  20. Sean Maitland is going to London Irish next season, he will be a big loss to Glasgow Warriors.
  21. Football question in the final today, name any player from the Brazil 70 WC winning team, Holland 88 Euro winning team or Argentina 86 WC winning team. Got 4 that were pointless with Gerson, Jan Wouters, and Valdano and Burruchaga.
  22. The two old girls today were well deserved jackpot winners, brilliant knowledge throughout.
  23. Good win for Glasgow today, but they will have to win against Bath in the final match to progress after Bath had a surprise bonus point win in Toulouse.
  24. Yep, thought the choice of opposition was strange myself. South Africa takes care of itself, so I would have thought getting teams similar in stature and style to Samoa, Japan and the USA would have been the best preparation.
