  1. Thornton absolutely demolished O'Shea tonight. Would fancy him to win his semi final match too.

Delighted to see the Thorn through.

Got tickets for both sessions on Sunday so good to have a Scotsman to back

  2. On the issue of pitch sizes am I right in thinking when the London's Monarch played at white hart lane it was on a shorter pitch as the pitch never measured the full 100yds!

It was a 90 yard pitch IIRC.

The endzones may only have been 7 yards as well, but I can't remember.

  3. Has there ever been any thought of staging a game outside London?

Yes. The NFL has visited Cardiff and Edinburgh, saying that the Millenium Stadium and Murrayfield were fit to host games if the NFL so desired.

  4. Barry Ferguson in the paper today crying that he got less than £100k bonus for winning the treble wi Rangers.

Given you get paid very handsomely for doing your job, I wouldn't cry in a tabloid read by the working classes who earn in a year what you got in a week about how low your bonus for doing your job is

Im not Ferguson's biggest fan, but you completely miss his point.

He wasn't complaining about how small his bonuses were. He was pointing out the lunacy of the current board paying out bonuses larger than he got for winning a treble for winning the Third Division.

  5. Soutar is a decent player.

I see the premier league is in the Hydro next year. Potential to be the single largest darts crowd? Its a bigger venue than Dublin, and now the biggest in the competition.

  6. Hopefully have a new season or one off special to round it off. Great programme but needs to end imho.

I'm sure they agreed to an 8th and 9th season a few years back. The 8th obviously happened, so a final season woukd not be a surprise

  7. A british franchise wouldn't work. They would likely be called the London something, instantly alienating the fans who travel from far outwith London to watch one of the IS games.

Theres no way London could sustain a winning NFL franchise for more than a season. Never mind a losing one. Selling 560,000 + tickets year on year is a pipe dream. World Bowl 91 aside, Londoners weren't interested in the Monarchs, at a time when american football was arguably more popular in Britain than it is now.
