Let me do it then - we haven't picked a drunk guy out the stand at an away game before so who knows how it'll turn out COYB

No sure where a drunk guy from the stand has turned a team around or got success but players new to management have made a success of their first job, they have also made a **** of it but the same can be said of experienced managers.

Are any Falkirk fans yet able to give me an objective opinion on why appointing Miller and McCracken as full-time managers was the right decision?

Would appreciate some honest opinions on why this was the right decision rather than the usual "got to give them a chance" we usually get.

We should look for some promising young managers with a bit of experience like that Hartley at Cove or go for a safe pair of hands like McKinnon. Considering our last couple of managers records and without hindsight would anyone say we'd end up where we are? Why not give them a chance? If one can improve our team's fitness (looks like it's getting better) and the other can motive them, then why not?

Thought we did well 2nd half and were the better team overall apart from a 10 minute spell before half time for them. Would like to see their penalty again, looked very soft.

  3. Thought we were lucky to be 1 up at the break, could've run riot after the 2nd but started getting deeper and deeper, you could see Montrose goal coming, good to score at the end. Had we took a chance at 2-0 we could've won by a few but in reality there wasn't much between the teams. Don't know if it's just me but it seems obvious that we are really short in midfield, defence are (normally) solid, McManus is getting better every week up front, non existent midfield leaving us lumping high balls forward from defence is where our problems lie.

The Stadium and surrounding ground are owned by Falkirk Community Stadium Ltd. This is a joint venture between Falkirk Football Club and the Council. The council operate and manage the day to day running the facility. Falkirk Football Cub are tenants.

From what I know and it is not certain FFC have approx. 30% shareholding in the joint venture.

    Hope this is helpful.

Is helpful, does anyone know why we went from owning 5/7ths of brockville and getting money from morrisons for the new ground to only owning 30% of the new stadium? I'd say this is worse than anything the bod have done lately (if the figures are accurate) as year after year it costs us money!

  5. I like the idea of Mccracken in charge, I could be wrong but to me it seems like our team runs out of steam after 60 to 70 minutes into games, hopefully Mccracken will be able to get the fitness levels up so that being full time actually is an advantage to us. Add in Miller and hopefully we have a management team to really take us forward this season and kick on after that COYB.

  6. Airdrie game or linlithgow? Airdrie who we'll play 4 times this season, will have a tiny away support and there'll be the usual Falkirk stadium atmosphere or the first ever competitive game v linlithgow (I think, might not be but can't be bothered checking) a proper local derby, a game that would be exciting no matter what league we were in as it's a completely new experience. Total sellout and a ground that'll be bouncing, could quite possibly the best atmosphere at any game we play this season, that's exactly what football should be about, to many folk on here just wanting a moan no matter what!

  7. Won't get to the stadium until 9 a.m on Thursday, so if there's a queue of 599 in front of me I'll get a ticket, 600 and I'm missing out! Was really looking forward to this however 1 ticket only for season ticket holders means I wouldn't be going with the usual guys, a night in Elliott's watching the game wouldn't be the worst friday night ever

  8. Oh we're so bad and we're top but we're really rubbish, honestly how can we be top when everything in this league is so so rubbish and have we said how bad we are yet....repeat over and over. And yet wee arbroath are doing ok in the championship, livy went up twice in a row and Ayr came up and are doing well again, meanwhile raith are still down, we've joined them and partick could easily be next. Maybe most of our support could stop being patronising ***** to everyone else in the league look at how teams who have came up and went down have done and admit there isn't a huge deal between the top few teams in league 1 and teams in the championship!

  9. Whether MC was right or not, the idea of agents in the background really scared me and where we would go under MC and his backers. I think the right decision has been reached (if MC takeover someone else and makes a spectacular success then we can all eat humble pie). Now it's back to either Btb or Gow's bid and hopefully kicking on both on and off the pitch. As for people posting about embarrassment, I'd rather be embarrassed than end up with a Craig Whyte type deal any day of the week.

  10. I still say the whole MSG are terrible, incompetent, corrupt, greedy and couldn't run a raffle is purely a reaction to the last couple of seasons on the park when they put faith in a manager and it backfired spectacularly. Unless, oh sorry I forgot about the massive MSG must go banner that covered our end at hampden during the last cup final, showed they've been terrible for 20 odd years or did I just dream that last part....

Doesnt make any sense in that context though. Why would any boycotters care if SA continues to attend games?

His comment only makes sense in the context of "i'm not selling"

In the overall context then that doesn't make sense, the MSG said at the EGM that they were looking to pass control onto the next generation (not an exact quote but as close as I can remember) that's why they looked at fan control of the club and BTB. Other bids like MC, Gow etc once it was clear the board were looking to sell as things went to pot on the park!

I know I'm in a minority (possibly of 1) but history and probably this season as well (partick, pars or dundee even) shows clubs our size aren't to big to spend the odd year at this level, it's nowhere near unprecedented and if the board were as bad as they're made out we wouldn't have anything like the budget to spend on the squad that we have!

    Agree with that.

Used to fucking love going to Brockville even though it was an absolute shit hole.

Standing up against the fence with Falkirk fans on the other side was great banter and the games always seemed to be blood and snotters.

Who was it that got sent off for handling the ball on the line to prevent a goal in the late 90s/ early 00s? Was it Sinky? Did I make that up?

That's what made brockville unique for me, even if we were playing a team with only a bus load of fans the way they were right next to us mean you could get some atmosphere at games that in other grounds you couldn't as the away support would be spread out or to far away. I always liked raith away as the pubs were brilliant for having a drink before heading to the game.

Never had a beard when he played for us, looks completely different.

Surely this was just a massive whoosh. Surely.

Back in the day, I'd agree with you. Now though, I'm not so sure, is a struggle to remember player's names over the last couple of seasons nevermind what they looked like!

Saying that Baird was here a bit longer than most over the last 2 seasons or so.
