  1. What's the point of a new board, fans getting involved etc if we're not going to advertise the manager's job and go through the candidates? We're supposed to be changing from the boardroom down and yet would be giving the job to Rice without going through due process, exactly what we did with Hartley. If we were to advertise, interview etc and Rice gets the job then fair enough but basically a coronation doesn't sit right, if that's what happens.

I see the FSS are having a night in behind the goals on monday to meet and discuss with the new board members,  might ask about manager's job then if I can get along and it hasn't been done already!

  2. We went from Mcgovern to a young inexperienced keeper, lost Leahy for a not ready Tony Gallagher, lost Valks in midfield and having been lucky upfront with Farid, Taylor and even Baird we were weaker upfront as well. How many managers could lose the players Houston did and not have the team suffer? To be fair though some of the incoming players like Harris etc was terrible recruitment. Anyway the next transfer window is the most vital now and we really need to get it right, starting with the new manager.

  3. Would anyone explain how we as a club replace a player like Valks? Ok Houston could've done better than Rankin but we were never replacing Valks with the same quality of player. That was the problem we had with Houston not players had downed tools or he lost the dressing room (listen to Mark Kerr on the hope street podcast) rather we lost quality all over the pitch that was almost irreplaceable on our budget unless we got incredibly lucky, instead we were very unlucky when other factors affected signings like Loy.

  4. Was having a nice weekend away, good company and drink when my mate said it was 5-0 I honestly thought he was winding me up and had to check the score myself, simply unbelievable. The worst result by a long way in my 40 odd years supporting us, Sheerin had to go and Holt should follow.

Will have a look later if no-one knows but is the AGM available for shareholders not attending to livestream?

  5. Only positive from today was Williamson and his link up with Morrison such a difference with a right back giving Morrison options and helping out, hope the knock wasn't to bad. Apart from that, we're toothless up front and easy to cut through at the back. All we can do is hope the changes in the background help drive forward the changes needed in the team and it's management. There's definitely a core in our team to build upon.

The evil genius that he is ..........probably going to steal a few nuclear submarines and hold the world to ransom after that.

Ransom of 1... million pounds oops, 1 billion pounds, bloody inflation 1 trillion pounds, ha ha ha (apologies to Austin Powers for the paraphrasing)

And on another note Kenna to Raith in January wouldn't be that bad if we can get a better goalscorer in for him.

  7. Direct attacking football played at pace and again the only time we looked slightly like this was chasing the game with 10 minutes left! This slow tippy tappy build up is terrible leaving us with no option but to eventually launch a ball upfield, quite simply Montrose were a better footballing side than us yesterday, we got what we deserved from the game absolutely nothing. Keep hearing games change on fine margins and we could have grabbed an undeserved point if the manager makes a decision and changes our penalty taker but Sheerin can't seem to decide or change anything. Same side, same tactics and style every week, just isn't good enough.

Just finished re- reading Michael White’s Vol. 4 from 1994 to 2007 and what a treasure trove of information it contains.

From Jefferies, Lambie, Collins, Bannon, Totten, McCall, Coyle and Hughes., it chronicles all the ups and downs during that spell and, boy, there were plenty.

Will need to look out some of the earlier ones.

Has there been a more recent one?

There's a volume 5, I'd also recommend Michael White's book based on the poems of a Falkirk fan around world war 1

  9. There is a point here, if the board were really bad and not pantomime villains then the Inverness cup final would've been the perfect time for a Ritchie/Alexander out display on a world stage! However they made good and bad decisions, were unlucky with timings ie, our best team in 20 years arrived with rangers/hearts/hibs/Dundee utd all around the championship even covid stopped us at least having the chance of going up by finishing the season. Board decisions and interactions with fans have been terrible last few years and the team have been getting worse. This could be a pivotal moment in our history and could hopefully be the catalyst for a rise up the leagues #COYB (is the coyb Facebook enough for everyone,  lol)

  10. Agree with some posts from earlier, McCann was excellent, Telfer as well, thought the keeper did well without having loads to do. Hopefully Williamson at right back and Morrison back makes us stronger going into January and a good signing or two could really set us up, whether we sign well is questionable but can only hope.

I find it really strange that we are now 3 days after the car crash Q&A and still no comment from the club.

If the club want to bridge the divide between themselves and the fans It's clear that an apology is required and that heads need to roll.

I've banged on about how abysmally the BoD treated the CI Guys. Those that questioned my original posts, hopefully now understand why I was so vocal regarding their attitude towards the fans and can now see for themselves what the CI were dealing with.

The only way forwards is for the governance model at the club to change. I hope that the "new" FSS (and maybe others ....NB Mk2?) can play an important role onto bringing the fans back onside.

If the status quo remains, the club will go Down , down, deeper and down (quite liked that !) .

I like it, I like it, I la la la like it 😂

  12. Why the huddersfield link up? Did huddersfield not stop playing a signing from us so that it didn't trigger a payment? Something like we got £s after 100 games but they stopped playing at 99 games so they didn't need to pay the add on. Not sure if it was them but if it was then that seem a strange team to link up with out of everyone we could foster a link with.

  13. I've been overly supportive of both managers and the board for years (although possibly in hindsight keeping houstie might not have been the worst move) to me if the board gives out a budget they shouldn't interfere with the manager, he is in charge of the playing side. Any manager from a rookie to a Klopp or Guardiola is a gamble with no guarantees it'll work. However to continually make such major mistakes has to bring into question both the competence of the board and methods used in recruitment of managers, massive change is needed again, being down here isn't an embarrassment teams as big as us have been and will be again, staying down here is an embarrassment for a club of our size.

  14. Can sum up the last few pages on here with it's great when your team (Scotland or Falkirk) plays well and is winning and rubbish when they're not.

Waiting for tomorrow's team news, surely Sheerin has to play Kenna and Ruth together up front? Would be making a big rod for his back if he doesn't and it goes wrong.

  15. Even the east fife game to go up couldn't be more like Falkirk. Cruising to promotion 2-0 up when Geordie Watson gets injured (he definitely gets their 2nd if he's not hurt!) and end up hanging on for dear life. Am still raging to this day that my wee brother (doesn't support us and was only game he went to that season) is in the video behind the team when their celebrating in the old stand. Still a brilliant day though.
