If we can get £750k or thereabouts for Bair this summer, we should be biting their hand off!  Van Veen is the example we should be using with guys like Bair.  Sell at their highest point, make money for the club and the player himself, and move onto the next.  The surprise element has gone for Bair now so I don't see him improving further with us.

I really hope it's not the experienced keeper I've been told about.

We need names. Or a name.

Nothing 😂 ive tried ones for goalkeepers before but its a waste of time really. Youre aswell just looking at save % and xG prevented charts.

Im limited by WyScout data which isnt ideal for defensive stuff. I hate how they decide what a "won aerial duel" is too.

Or you tried creating a Liam Kelly radar and your computer exploded 🧐

Andy Murray spent 41 weeks as world number 1, whilst spending his entire career competing against the 3 greatest players ever to hold a racquet.  He's won more masters titles than anyone other than those 3 and Andre Agassi, ahead of the likes of Pete Sampras (a player who literally dominated tennis for a decade).  Scotland's greatest sportsman.  Close thread.

He also made 8 Grand Slam titles ( in addition to the 3 he won), losing to one of the 3 every time.

    I think.

That's where it should end, political and religious figures, heads of state including Pope's, Prime Ministers and Royal Family have zero connections to clubs and football and by nature can be divisive and the cause of conflict between people so that can get in the bin for me.

I'd also add remembrance Sunday at the football,  I'll always observe it and wouldn't disrupt it but again, war or quite specifically the British military somewhat questionable recent history of conflict and conduct has more than a degree of ambiguity about its morals and merit, I personally feel the ramping up of it all, the poppy w**k fest and the almost insistence on people displaying poppies, almost in a garish fashion is an attempt to curry favour for the military and in particular the reprehensible foreign policies of successive UK governments, I feel very strongly about this having no place at football, as I said I'd never disrupt it but remembrance Sunday should be a solemn mark of respect and one of choice, not some garish jingoistic display of loyalty to Britain and its military at football stadiums.

Interesting but boring fact. Inbereen our last league win at ibrox (May 1997) and our last league win at Fir Park (December 2002) I can think of at least another 3 wins at Fir Park. May 98, 2-1 with a last minute Wllie Falconer header, September 98,1-0 with John Spencer on his debut and May 2000, 2-0 with Twaddle and Dpencer scoring.

Was one of those the ‘Gie Spenny a job’ T-shirt game?

remember it like it was yesterday. Except the opposition obviously. And score.

    Not really, tbh.

A mix of things falling for him to give him confidence + an extended run of games is likely the key. Add in the fact youre probably playing to his strengths more while we were punting balls 5ft above him on the wing.

Hes probably the most extreme example of shite to sugar i can remember seeing, but hes also not the first (or the last) to do it.

I still think it was best for everyone for him to leave us this Summer, even with the knowledge of how it's turned out.

Agree re the run of games being key. I watched him early in the season- against East Fife I think - and he was awful. You can almost see him growing into it over the season to where he is now - fucking fantastic.

Wouldn't make wholesale changes as we'd likely completely lose balance.

    - Mugabi out, SOD to RCB, Devine to start at RWB

    - Paton for Nicholson

    We win

    End

    Perfect in its simplicity.

now add 3000 or so words and email it to Kettlewell. There’s still time.

  8. Last night was very disappointing. To me, the players looked tired/off it from the start. Improved when we changed the wingbacks and brought Halliday on. Though Gent was poor last night - and he’s been very good for us recently.

I still like Kettlewell though, sometimes I wonder why, but I do. So there.

Kelly needs dropped though. For his sake as much as the team’s. No idea what’s going on there - he’s a shell of the player from a couple of years ago.

Biggest disappointment was The Bair not scoring. I’ve searched for answers but can’t find them. The wee man will be up soon. Need to break the news to him. He’ll be crushed.

  9. I’m happy enough to admit I’ve totally changed my mind about Kettlewell. Like (probably) most, I’d have got shot of him after the Ross County debacle. However….

I always quite warmed to his babbling interviews. They’re even better when we’ve not just lost.

We’ve just had a decent window (another centre forward aside).

He seems pretty good/brutal at getting rid of players that don’t cut it (whether he signed them or not).

We played well yesterday IMO, with a definite recent improvement, just not quite getting the results we deserve.

    He gave us The Bair.

    …. what’s not to like?*

*unless we get beaten by County again, in which case I reserve the right to change my mind. Again.

Appreciate I’m a day and about 20 pages late but I think the good thing for us is that we are not even that desperate for a striker. So if KVV is a flop then he’ll be dropped for someone else. There’s no guarantee (taking into account time to get match fit) that’s he’s even a guaranteed starter with Stewart coming in and Vassell being the captain. Marley Watkins has been great as well.

The talk is that Vass needs an operation so if true KVV will be a like for like replacement and, based on their time in Scotland, is likely to score more goals than Vassell. However we are in a privileged position now when it comes to attacking players.

Well, yes, but we’ve got hunners of full backs. So there.

He's said we are looking at a striker and defender but we are now short at back due to suspensions and injury so i think it's more likely to be a defender.

We also have Vassell, Watkins, Cameron, Stewart, Kennedy, Armstrong etc, so not like we are light up top.

Suspensions, injuries, and you have The Bair to contend with at the weekend.

    I pity you Killie fans.
