  1. As I said before the cull, Bangladesh need to play more test cricket just to see more of Mehedi in that format.

3 5 wicket hauls in his first 2 tests, incredible stuff.

Looks a fine prospect. Would like to see how he gets on on less spin friendly pitches
  2. the Saffers have just chased down the Aussies 371/6 to win by 4 wkts.
Second highest run chase in ODIs. Astonishing.
David Miller on one leg scored a ton adding over 100 for 7th wkt.

The Aussies must hate trying to defend huge totals in SA. [emoji3]

  3. Some stats, if he's good enough, he's old enough.

Being a test cricketer is not about your stats. It's about having that little bit of something that makes the selectors realise you will be able to thrive in Test Matches.

Trescothick didn't have great stats when he was first picked. On the other hand many a player with great stats has been and not made the grade.

I haven't seen enough if haseeb to know if he is good enough.
  4. Morgan and Hales opt not to tour Bangladesh. With Hales giving up his spot as test opener, I think that could be his test career gone.

I think his test spot was always going to be 'in trouble'. His ODI/2020 spot is not and he'll get that back. So it was a bit of a low risk decision for him.

I can't even begin to imagine how difficult a decision it must have been to decide to go or not. The Foreign Office have advised that Westerners and locations where they gather will be high risk if attack. In fact there more I think about it, the more I'm convinced that the only person I'd trust with my safety is me!

Did Caddick and Croft (?) not opt out after Mumbai was bombed without any impact in their careers?

  5. I am delighted that the families have finally got justice. I am delighted that they have never given up, never given in to people who said they were 'sick' of hearing about Hillsborough. I will not criticise anything the families did when they came out of that inquest, and tbh nor should anyone. What may appear cringeworthy to you and me, will feel much different to them. They are the families of 96 people who since 1989 have a bond, a bond that they most certainly didn't want to have, but one none the less, that gives them a common goal. Raw emotion works in different ways, and until we as individuals are placed in such a scenario then we have no way of knowing what we would do.

  6. Headed to Bath last weekend on a boys rugby tour to watch Glasgow. Thanks to BT switching game to Sunday we had a free Saturday afternoon. A few boys went to Newport to watch more rugby, but a couple of us went to FA Cup tie between Cardiff and Reading. Cracking stadium at Cardiff now, and dearest ticket was £12!!! And you could have beer. Just reminded me of everything that's wrong in Scottish football.
