  1. Hamilton has two of the most bigoted Schemes known to man in Burnbank(Burnbank Loyal flag appears when they play their hometown team) and The Oldtoon where Protestants have been tormented and bullied when they moved there. Recently a Rangers Pub-Coopers- has opened in the Town Centre which already has a few "Plastic Paddy" pubs in the vicinity. Accies punters tend to drink in the Pubs around Hamilton West area although the Butterburn Pub in the Town Centre is a well known Accies Pub and runs buses to away games on occasion. Three stops on the train lies Larkhall lol which to be fair is better than it used to be and seems to be becoming more of a middle class commuter town. Reading this thread and looking at the places nearby:Larkhall,Lanark,Bothwell,Blantyre,Stonehouse,Strathaven and Uddingston if folk from these places supported The Accies then we would be a well supported provincial team but I would say Hamilton,Coatbridge and Clydebank are probably the three worst towns for locals flocking to the Old Firm.
  2. Weird to think guys like that were playing for us in the top League not so long ago.
  3. Williamson I am a bit meh about, but will add physicality and replace Scott Martin;if we sign the other midfielder I hear we are after, the midfield will be sorted.
  4. Not the sort of signing that inspires tbh…a bit StephenHendrieesque.
  5. Not the sort of signing that will have us jumping through hoops either.
  6. Ffs,you can do better than this I know one who is “almost there” who would make an impact for any of the top 3 in our League.
  7. I’d take Alex Neil as a player lol.I do know James McArthur is wanting to go into Management but that would be another gamble.
  8. Good signing that and gives you guys greater depth up front.
  9. Told you all this would happen as it always does for these types of games,so no surprise. Tbh,I don't agree with the way this is always done for big away supports but last season we played Airdrie and Fanbase showed the away end completely sold out only for there to be a few hundred empty seats in the Airdrie end,so who knows if this played a part? Just remembered we played East Kilbride a few months ago in The Challenge Cup and it was Fanbase for home fans and physical tickets for us,so a big fuss about nothing.
  10. The Stadium Company last season had a First Communion in the ground at the same time as our Play Off game versus Alloa ffs. A surreal atmosphere ensued with Rave Music blaring out at the same time as we were protesting against the Old Board and it got worse as some of the bladdered Patrons at the aforementioned event had a tet-a-tet with fans in Section A who took offence at these Old Firm clowns castigating their local team.
  11. They may do what they did at recent big games and rope off the section of seats nearest the home end which will hinder the atmosphere. The Cops had the Well Bois at the section nearest Morrisons which ruined the atmosphere in those games.
  12. A football game amid Ticketgate will commence. Whatever the rights and wrongs,I am sure they will announce tickets for sale/cash turnstiles on the day,so those Falkirk fans who can't get to Brockville will be able to attend and support their team. This is what normally happened in our Premiership days, but I can see why Falkirk fans are irked in the era of etickets, but we did the same for the likes of The Edinburgh 2/Motherwell only to announce cash gates on the day. Fwiw,Alloa had to open cash gates last Saturday as their etickets were not working correctly and last season at Firhill for us was the same. As for the game, last week's disappointment may have tempered optimism at the Accies end against a side who are still unbeaten, but a lot depends for me on which team Rankin picks and how he sets them up. If we come out all guns blazing I can see us winning, but if he is cagey, reticent and hinders our attacking players we may well struggle. Guys like Lewis Smith and Zanatta are currently in favour whereas Euan Henderson-our top scorer- seems to have copped the flak for the Kelty Cup defeat which is inexcusable for me especially with golden boy O'Hara missing great chances every week. For Falkirk,Morrison will have more scope than in the last game as I would be surprised to see us double man-mark him in a home game and to do so would link in with the aforementioned caginess. However,he will probably play Lewis Smith on his side to offer additional support to the full back. I'm detecting good interest through here with lapsed supporters finally saying they will attend and we badly need them as the haemorrhaging of fans from Canning onwards and folk boycotting because of the old Board/Owners needs to end. There is no excuse for these people now as Zengin is doing the best he can with the Football Club and the Stadium Company is was it is...they even arranged for their Ice Rink behind the goals to be open during this game before changing it promptly, such is their lack of awareness of what is happening at 3pm Saturday. Let's hope for a game that lives up to the occasion which rarely happens when nerves are jangling.
  13. There already is a Manager in Scottish Football who never got the Accies job due to aforementioned rumours about taking bookings to help pay off gambling debts owed to one of our Football Club previous Owners,so nothing would surprise me.
  14. I was walking past the ground not that long ago walking the dogs and watched a bit of the training as they were practising corners and bar a couple, they were all dreadful. Alloa and St.Johnstone have been our bogey teams since I started going in the 76-77 season,so today was no surprise. I was impressed by Alloa who know how to play against us nullifying our threats and they could have been ahead as had good chances-but so did we especially O'Hara through in the last 10 minutes with the Keeper to beat. I said about a month ago not to rule Cove Rangers out and I stand by that.A draw next week suits them as it would potentially allow them to gain further ground on Accies and Falkirk. We invariably produce a big result after dropping points,so here's hoping for next week.
  15. Respect to all who ventured to the game today and especially the QOS fans who witnessed the kind of shambolic performance from their team we used to watch the last three seasons which is why we are where we are. It was a case of heads going down for QOS as we eased into control and tbh it should have been 7 or 8 for us at a minimum. A big difference for us is we are now playing with genuine width instead of relying on out of position midfielders or full backs providing all the width. This has resulted in only playing with one striker, but today we had plenty attempts at goal playing that formation. Still think we need a striker as a good striker in this team would score a minimum 25 goals the amount of chances we create. Finally, John Rankin read the riot act after last week's half-hearted Cup defeat and this resulted in 2 good wins.Tough game at Alloa next week where we struggle before the big one,so plenty twists and turns to come.
  16. Any other season and the points total of the top 2 would be seeing them clear, also Interesting that third place Cove-after a bad start-on the same points as Edinburgh City who were second at this point last season.
  17. Accies started really well and could easily have been 3 or 4 up before Annan scored but as usual our inability to take our chances let the opposition back in the game. One way traffic after the sending off and Annan played good football at times and can consider themselves unlucky not to get a draw. We tried to sign Tommy Goss pre season and during the window and he would be a big upgrade on that big haddy Mumbongo who basically left us with 9 men the second half. Falkirk game ended and 10 seconds later Annan hit the bar...such is the twists and turns which will continue and don't rule Cove out either.
  18. As detailed by others on here and in general,Rankin has lost the confidence of the support which will still be the case if we get closer to Falkirk the next few weeks. This is a group of players who could beat Falkirk and lose the week after to Kelty in the League as the Manager has no Plan B against packed defences. Yesterday we ended up with 4 men up front and still fannied about with the slow build up.Another sitter missed by O'Hara at 0-0 also and again being outfought by part-timers. If we end up in the Play Offs,no-one has any confidence we would prevail as the Airdrie home game and his terrible Game Management and Subs-especially bringing Zanatta on instead of a defensive player does not fill us with confidence. The only saving grace is the January window as he has stated he has funds and if uses it wisely, only then will confidence return.
  19. Bay Horse-now owned by an Accies fan and has been home fans only since last season with Security on the doors. Accies Vaults is a misnomer as very few Accies fans frequent it nowadays since it caters more for local Celtic punters,so that,Bar West and Peacock & Ivy are the best bets and not far from the ground with The Clydesdale Hotel near the big Car Park also utilised by away fans.
  20. You won't be the only fan saying that this season, that's for sure. Watched from my sick bed and to be fair he wasn't as bad towards Accies as he has been. The guy lives in Hamilton and as an ex Well player he is fair game for us and vice versa. Rankin made the correct changes which should have been made weeks ago and had this happened last week, the game would have had a different outcome. Another very hard away game coming up against Cove where we have never won,so there you go.
  21. I think Rankin was too cautious and could have brought on McGlynn and Lewis Smith who could have snatched the game for us last 20 minutes. He played for a point and the longer the game went Falkirk also seemed to settle for a point. Big Mumbongo was dreadful when he came on although I can see his thinking in bringing him on. Both sides looked nervous and it showed.
  22. There were spare seats on the buses from The Vaults.
  23. Serif admitted at The Fans Forum that Anton Dowds was the guy we tried to sign, but he didn't want to drop down a Division. Another striker in training this week who may or may not be signing.
  24. I've been at games with the home end packed from the 70's onwards,so I know more than yourself about the lapsed support out there and the potential which could be utilised. A new broom and home attendance is already 40% higher than the last 5 seasons and that is despite the prices I feel being too expensive at £20 adults,£10 kids which I know is putting folk off.
  25. There are a lot more than 1,000 fans.Issue is the previous regime lost us 60% of our support and we need to try to get them back. There were quite a few folk there on Saturday who have dropped off going to the games.Hopefully, they got a taste for it again after Saturday and start coming back on a regular basis. As per the above picture, there were quite a few in the seats and the uncovered terrace at the side and adding folk with complimentary tickets/home end tickets(there were a few with these) and over 300 is good going-especially as another 30-50 who were at the Scotland game would have been there too.
