  1. I can't see Club 12 being named until the Newco issue has been addressed. So Dundee or the Pars don't matter as much!

Bit of a random one here, but with Dundee or Dunfermline going up and Rangers coming into either Div 1 or Div 3, will the Ramsdens Challenge Cup draw need redone? Both Dundee and Dunfermline are in the North/East half of the draw whereas Rangers would presumably need to be in the South/West.

There are some huge journeys in the draw which clubs will presumably need to book coaches for and PT players will need to arrange time off their work, and the first round is only 20 days away now.

Or if they just put Rangers in the North/East in place of DFC/DAFC, are Forfar or Brechin prepared for an invasion of Orcs potentially up in their numbers to show defiance? Would these games need to be ticketed?

We really should have had answers a long time ago

  2. If St Mirren's CiC is pushed through in time, then they are as good as a confirmed no vote.

Celtic and Aberdeen have publically commited to the no vote.

I have a feeling Rod will vote no too. He knows his popularity is an at all time low, plus we are the club who benefits least from Rangers visiting (1500 or something higher than average gate).

They'd need everybody else to back them. Squeeky.

Can you point me to the statements where Celtic and Aberdeen have said they will vote no? I certainly haven't seen these yet

  3. A completely different entity has no right inheriting the share of an existing SPL club. It has no right to automatic entry to the league system at all. It should apply at the grass roots like all other aspiring clubs. If NewCo is voted in, then it has to be seen as a direct continuation of the old Rangers

Thats fine, I'm not a Rangers fan and not fussed either way. But if the Newco is punished and/or seen as a direct continuation, then the history/5 stars etc etc all comes too, as hard to take as it is.

  4. Why you smiling? To me this says, welcome back with a slap on the wrists.

Which is it to be - some folk on here are saying Rangers are dead, they are no more, history is gone, they no longer exist and the newco is a completely new team. Then on the other hand there is outrage that the newco are not inheriting punishments that should be handed out to the 'old' Rangers. Going by the former, why the hell should a newco be punished for something which was carried out by a completely different entity when the newco never even existed!

    FFS make up your mind!

  5. This whole process has been a con , nobody bid against Charles Green so that there was no pushing teh proice up to pay creditors. The figure of £5.5m was just to make sure Duff & Phelps got paid.

Now Rangers newco are free of Tax Liablities the real owners can step forward and buy off Green. They can use Walter Smith to get the fans on their side , and the players to transfer over then use fan power to force Green to sell.

    1) David Murray gets away with paying tax on Big Tax Case

    2) Craig Whyte a pawn in the game

    3) Charles Green , a pawn in the game will make money for his trouble of being the big bad wolf putting Rangers into liquidation

    4) Rangers supporting businessmen will own Rangers with no debt and no HMRC liablities from previous ownerships.

Well done to all involved you played a blinder and showed how the Old Firm are more powerful then SPL and SFA.

Maybe the press will blamr Craig Levein when Hampden is empty for the World Cup Qualifers, the SFA better do the right thing and see through this charade.

Just catching up - I reckon this is absolutely spot on. There were murmours of a consortium back at the time of the Blue Knights/Bill Miller bidding war which was said to include some pretty high profile Scottish names, who may well be Wattie, Park and McColl.

I would be extremely surprised if Wattie & Co havent been working/discussing with Charles Green etc in the background the last month or so, manufacturing the exact position that Rangers are in today.

Charles Green has agreed to act as the party that goes through the motions of the CVA and carries out the liquidation and formation of the Newco, and the Scottish consortium then stroll in to take over once the new Rangers are set-up - debt free with no BTC hanging over them. Charles Green makes a few million quid, and the only gamble is whether the other SPL clubs vote the Newco in - which we all know they will.

I'm sure this has been answered elsewhere, but will the revised punishment which the SFA come up with (instead of the 12 month registration embargo) apply to the newco?

  6. It's a slow news day so I thought I'd throw this out here....

If (and when) Rangers DO die, what do you think the fans will do in the future? Will they simply be lost to the game, or do you see them perhaps starting to follow other teams. Maybe lower level teams nearby them?

I was thinking this the other night. I could see a few Edinburgh based Rangers fans probably coming along to Tynie in the future (for obvious reasons*) but wondered if the Gers demise would see an increase in gates for teams like Clyde, Partick etc.

*i for one would prefer these bigots stay away from Tynie, we've already got enough of their 'type' as it is.

Anyway, as I said, slow news day an all that...

My personal opinion is that they would be lost to the Scottish game - despite cheating their way to all those titles and cups in the recent years they will still feel hard done by, so I can't see them continuing to spend their money on the Scottish game which a) has been going downhill for years b) they will blame for the demise of RFC , c) they will see as a far weaker league and d) would mean they had to sit and watch their former rivals Celtic win the league at an absolute canter by Christmas

I'd guess that some of the ones down here in Ayrshire would maybe start following the local junior team, some others may start to follow the Chelsea team that they seem to connect with a bit more, but most will simply head to the pub on a Saturday and watch Premiership games which, lets face it, a lot of fans have started to do now that Scottish football is pretty awful and you can watch a decent standard of game and have a few pints for a fraction of the price of sitting in an empty stadium watching unfit players howf the ball up the park all afternoon (however thats a discussion for another time). So yeah I think they mostly wouldn't give a toss about Scottish football

  7. Some people on here are fucking depressing.

Very little, if anything at all has changed over the last few weeks. HMRC won't accept a CVA, so they will be liquidated. Also, they can't magically just transfer all assets for free to a Newco and walk away from the debt, that would be illegal. Any new club would have to buy them.

Keep the faith brothers. Today the SFA will hammer them, because at the end of the day, the club won't be there to even take their punishment.
