Goodwillie would expect his 2 and a half year contract to be paid up in full to see him through to retirement.
After the furore yesterday no other club will employ him again.

With the way they hero worship him Clyde would.  As someone said on the main thread before it went awol - clyde are an odious little club with no principals

We'd lose 5% at most. i.e 150 of our typical current home support.

Would they lose out on sponsors as well not wanting their brand associated with the baggage and possible adverse publicity?  Would there be a knock on affect on youngsters as parents decide they dont want their kids to have a role model with the baggage and have them go to other clubs? Theres a lot more than fan numbers involved in it

  3. it was Michael Andrews, not Jamie Barclay.

Bit harsh to say either is hopeless - both are capped by Scotland at U19 I think it is

Havent seen either of them much 'live' but any time I did in the lower divisions I thought both looked promising for young keepers. Not sure why Falkirk didnt keep at least one of them, cant imagine they would have been on big money

  4. Regarding Thomson, I don't want to get all Brass Eye on this one, but no one batted an eye lid when we signed a player who's actions led to the death of a kid.

    .

Dunno the story you are talking about re the death of a kid but thats a seperate issue - no one should touch Thomson

Id maybe have wavered if it had been a kid he didnt know and could have been fooled into thinking she was 16 but ffs he KNEW the kid and her age. Scum like that dont deserve sympathy or 2nd chances imo, he's old enough to know what he was doing was vile and he still did it.

  5. ...and it'll cost us more in abortive legal costs to chase this unsuccessfully than the compensation fee we'd get in any case. How many more examples of the total incompetence of our BOD can there still be?? You couldn't make this stuff up.

or could it be that Bradford are at it as like every other club in the country they will know that Falkirk cant afford to challenge anything?

  6. I don't really see why fans should know the wage bill any more than customers of Tesco and M&S should know the wage bill at those companies.

I think there's scope for suggesting shareholders should though, which in many clubs is the same thing.

only cos of the nature of football clubs (same as some companies - couldnt u find that out at companies house anyway?).

its reasonable that overall figures should be public knowledge. ur employers will have a wages figure in their P&L accounts that will include urs - it just wont break it down to say SD earns £450k a year ;)

  7. Perhaps someone should explain to Colin McMenamin that fans like to know what their and their rivals' clubs are forking out on wages, it helps us understand who are taking gambles or cutting back, how to set expectations and who to expect challenging at season's end (seeing as money is strongly linked to success in club football at most levels).

You'd think after experiencing administration time after time he'd be all for financial accountability with the fans.

    sort of agree

as fans i think we should get to know the overall player wage bill but not the individuals wage - thats between them and the club
