Spot on.  With a keeper who can take command of his box and a centre half who can put himself about and actually win headers ,I think this shows that the problem areas are being addressed. A long way to go yet though . More to come I believe.

Yup! Certainly is a long way to go but we are getting there. Decent keeper and a decent defense coupled with an experienced midfielder and someone who knows where the goal is and we will move up that table. Hopefully the rest are in before the SA game, but all will be revealed😏😄

They have had long enough to prove their worth to us.

Well I’d keep him - any game I’ve watched this year he doesn’t look to blame with the constant onslaught our goalies face from teams. While ever since paddy came into the team he’s sold most the goals. Nevertheless I’m glad we’ve got Hutton now anyway, need experience right now

McMinn will be the one that will be getting shown the door. He has cost us numerous points with his sheer stupidity at times, stuck up for him many times but enough was enough! Glad we now have an experienced keeper in Hutts with Paddy playing backup. Few more (on way) and we'll be fine.

Is it time to get rid of wilson in one last throw of the dice to get a miracle worker in who might be able to keep us up?

And who's going to fund yet another managerial layoff?

Don't think it would change anything, last thing we need is yet more upheaval.

I’m seeing a notable improvement in the team since Wilson took charge. The players seem to have a bit more belief and we actually played some really good stuff today.

Still think we are a striker light. If we can someone in to help Shagger up top then I’m very hopeful of us clawing away from danger.

Wilson did make reference to that when he came into the lounge late on after the game.

Wish all the best to Smith.  His heart was clearly in the right place and at least he's brave enough to admit the results weren't good enough - if our previous manager had done the same we might not be in this position!

He was on a hiding to nothing last season, I'm not sure there were any managers that could have kept us up last season, and he's only been given 3 games to bed a whole squad together this season which I'm not sure is enough (I'm not counting the cup games as they were essentially pre-season for us).  We were also unlucky not to get at least a point against Annan.

As far as a new manager goes, I have no idea where we go from here.  None of the names mentioned I feel would be an improvement on Smith, and I think it's too much of a gamble at this stage to go for someone inexperienced.  I just hope the board take their time and make sure they get it right.

As a couple of previous posters have said, there is some quality there and with one or two key loan signings (midfielder and striker) I don't see why we can't turn things around.  I'm happy with the keepers we have, happy with Hill, Page and Reekie at the back, happy with McLaughlin, happy with McCord and Watt and happy with McManus and Hamilton.  That's 9 decent players.  The defence will improve as the team gets to know each other, we just need someone to put the ball in the net.

I'd like to see us try something like:

    Sinclair

    Reekie - Page - Hill - McLaughlin

    McIntosh - McCord - Watt

    Hamilton - McManus - Knox

or 5-4-1/5-2-3 with McIntosh slotting in at Right back.

McIntosh will be out for a wee while after being injured against Elgin.

The reality here is that Barry's recruitment has been pretty poor and all left pretty late which shows a real lack of preparation for a new season. He should have had some business tied up early doors and had other potential targets addressed before the season ended. The last 2 managers have been experienced and look at what has happened.
Lets be honest here, we are never going to get relegated so why not give a younger manager a chance to progress new ideas into the squad, a new vision and work towards progression for this season and next. Yes, a difficult time for the club but we are only 3 games in. The team is so low in confidence it's unreal, stevie c should also go

"Never going to get Relegated "What makes you think that?

Exactly what I thought! Clearly knows something the rest of us don't

Seems a bit bizarre. Smith was extremely lucky to get a job after the shambles at Raith, but you should have punted him when it was confirmed you were relegated rather than waiting 3 games into a new season when it looks like he's not been backed financially. Instead he's now assembled a squad that a new guy will have to run with after Smith clearly wasn't backed due to having to play himself and name himself on the bench.

Based on your lack of options, you'd be better served with a player manager now IMO. You'll probably try and go for someone like Gary Naysmith - or you might even give Jim McIntyre his last chance like you did with Smith. Canning would be a decent shout

Smith was backed to be actually! Slow international clearances, a couple injured and one carrying over a ban led to him having to play a couple.

Well lest some thing has been done before it's too late. Bit who do we get in ? Give it to stevie full time ? Or maybe shagger ? I know I always say this but Charlie king ? ?

Think we are needing someone with experience and not a rookie to get us out the mess we are currently in, but as has been said, there isn't much going about. This appointment absolutely has to be the right one

Agree has to be Emile and Shagger,  hate to say the phrase this early but  * must win *  for us before we get left behind . Do the club do team sheets this season with all the new faces it could come in handy ? If so where do you pick one up ?

20p from the Supporters Club shop. Usually dropped off around 30 - 45 mins prior to KO.

You do realise you have a   - 57 rep for a reason ????  You are the most negative poster on here . You had the chance to have your say  and shape the future when the club advertised a position . You spelt the previous managers name wrong constantly . Not to mention the new managers name too . You seem to have learned the correct spelling at last so a bit of credit there .  Why are you posting on here during games instead of supporting the team  ?? I'm sure you're from another town just on here to stir shite .  If nothing positive to say or do find another hobby for a Saturday afternoon  and leave the REAL fans to it .

The latter - from another town and here to stir shite. Probably never been to the Glebe, never mind a game of football...

  11. What does Crawford add to the team, hee haw! Could at least show some interest in the games, get up off yer feet!! Any update on McIntosh?

Not very often you will witness 9 goals and two hat-tricks at the Glebe though...

Real stuff starts again on Saturday, Emile and Shagger starters.

  12. 2nd half much better from Brechin after the introduction of Watt. On that 2nd half display a draw would've been a fair result, but it wasn't to be.

As for Crawford, looks like a another Ross Kavanagh...

Decent wee bar in the ground and a decent pie for a change. Good of the young the lass from the pie hut to come out with the left over pies!

Tough game next week against Albion Rovers, hopefully some points on the board sooner rather than later

    This makes for grim reading.

I now have four games I will attend and then make a judgement, although in all honesty I will take some convincing that Dods is the man.

We seem to have no idea about how to win games (something like a 30% win rate - excluding last year). We have been duped too long - the great escape year had a good end to a season, we forgot how shite the previous 25 games had been, we got promoted losing more than we won but hey we got promoted - excellent and we forget what a chore most of the season was and then last season - a free hit (?) playing the same non football tactics all season and now this one.

Not starting well, signings not been the best, we have replaced decent players for average or is it still the tactics that make the players look average. My money is more on the tactics - sit tight and counter. Boring as PISH!

I do not think it good going back to previous managers. I see the argument for an old hand to steady the ship otherwise we maybe looking at oblivion. Ignore the pish about no money - we are okay after last year with a bit of a reserve, with a prediction of a 50 - 70k loss this so spending large is not an option. That said the crowds will dry up this year if the anti-football is continued to be served up, which in turn might make the predicted loss worse.

Stevie Campbell did a good job at Utd and I for one would like to see him given a go, if he would take it.

Any word on who was (if anyone) was falling out with the players and committee after Saturday?

Most of the fans showed that they have had enough and they showed that after the game. No one was falling out with the committee so not sure where that has surfaced from.
